    I cried like a baby when I first saw it! The message really does hit you, being in your 20s and not knowing what your purpose is or feeling stuck or not feeling like you’ve found your place in the world to realizing that even though you might feel that way, the ultimate purpose of life is to live it.

    Neat little thing you could miss:
    When Joe shows 22 his memories, there's one where he's sitting in a diner with a piece of pie, looking dejected, making you think it's a sad memory.
    But when Joe's at the piano and we see that montage of memories, we see the diner scene again, and we find out it was actually a happy memory, despite not starting out ao great.
    It's like the hockey memory in Inside Out. It started off sad, but because of her friends and the team, it turned happy.

    I study Korean and after watching this film one thought got stuck to me. In Korean there is a phrase 소확행 that basically translates as 'Happiness in small things or as Small but certain happiness'. And that I think what is the core thought of this film. People wait for a right moment and the grandiose opportunity after which they think that they finally start living. But the thing is that all the little things that we do, feel, experience everyday and every minute of it.. that IS our life that we are already living. From the moment of our first breath to the very last one.
    That film got me crying and I've already watched it at least 4 times (every time I get frustrated and stressed out and more than I would like to starting to be apathetic and looking down instead of up while walking) and remind myself that the best moment is present and I should be living and enjoying every moment of it.
    Thank you for the reaction, Seb~

    Such a gorgeous film! So true man, life is what happens while you're waiting for life to start! Weirdly I'm getting more emotional watching this time round than I did the first time. I enjoyed it a lot and it's a lovely film but i didn't quite have the emotional crisis xD i think becahse i watched it and knew exactly what it was going to do. I was like of course he's going to learn it's the small things etc because he's seeing a new human enjoying them..and tbf that moment when he was at the piano still got me.
    What I'm weirdly hung up on is his willingness to just die at his piano the second he learns life is what you make of it. He's just patched things up with his mum, learned to appreciate the smaller things and he's like well guess i missed out oh well. Like i know he wanted to save 22 but i feel like he could have done that and then she could have just got her own pass why did she have to have his? 😂 anyway great vid dude!

    • @carlalussini
      @carlalussini 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because he got that the time he got to live from his first death/magical recovery to the second final death was just an extra gift, a small moment in time but a major, defining one where he got to appreciate the life he had,and so he doesn't need more time, he can die in piece knowing he live a full, meaningful life that ended on his terms and in the service to others, and honestly, what else do you need?

    • @JeM130177
      @JeM130177 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carlalussini i get that and i know that's what they were going for and yeah obviously what he was willing to have was way more than he would have gotten simply dying that day falling down the hole but it never felt like a real threat that he wasn't allowed to go back to earth since other than Terry they were like who cares xD or that there was any reason 22 couldn't have gotten another pass for herself hahah but i get you. It's a lovely film but i was like well just because he realised his life had actually been good doesn't mean he appreciated the way he can going forward 😂

    That's what happens when you don't pay attention, but then again we're not going to have it in our control, when it's times up it's times up. Sure it might seem unfair but that's not for us to decide all we have is to enjoy the time that is given to us. Life strikes when we least expect it to. But this movie truly is something it truly makes you think and look at life differently.
