The Junghans Max Bill Mega Solar has always been a "thinking mans" watch for me. Incredible Bauhaus design, 38mm, sapphire crystal, titanium case and bracelet, 9mm thick. All that with the ease and confidence that comes with a solar powered, multi band 6 quartz movement. €1,295. I think it's good value.
I have it. My big complaints are it's extremely easy to scratch the acrylic AND those scratches get magnified onto the face of the watch. You can fix that with a $250 sapphire upgrade, but it's a little meh. Also the claimed 8SPY accuracy absent sync is more like 40 SPY. Overall good, and the movement of the hands and leaping minutes, half tick seconds and quick set that lets you jump ahead time zones with a click without losing minutes or seconds setting are really nice.
@@DarrenBates Yes, given my experience I think getting the sapphire from the start is a fine choice. Of course, the upgrade cost from the factory to swap acrylic for sapphire in a model you already own is basically the same when I checked
