Ladies and gentlemenn presenting the "Lion of the Blues", Mr Bobby Bland accompanied by two of the greatest ax-men of all time Wayne Bennet and Mel Brown. My God this is the real blues brought to you in 1981 from Chicago . Time to party. Thanks Bobby-----Thad
I pity the fool who didn't get to see or hear the great Bobby 'Blue' Bland in person during his prime. I was that lucky fool, seeing his show many, many times all over Texas and especially at the Palladium Ballroom in Houston. He was a giant, a legend and the greatest blues singer of all-time.
SCREAMMMMMIN TO THE SKY!!!!I LOVE YOU!!!! TO MY FATHER....(THE GREATEST,A LEGEND,BLUES KING) THE MOST PHENOMENAL & TALENTED GUITARIST YOU'VE EVER HEARD...ThankYIU LORD, FOR MY DADDY HE WAS & ALWAYS WILL BE THE BEST...IM STILL SCREAMMMMMMINN I LOVE YOU POPS!!!
Came straight to my house after this show ended......Oh how I miss you......5 years of love.......all night talking........travelling through many states on that old blue bus....lol....I lost you June 23......there is a heaven and I have my memories till then....
Another great blues legend gone too soon. I love, love me some Bobby Blue Bland. Bobby, there will never be a voice as smooth and sexy as yours. You are gone baby, but never forgotten.
What a great film of what looks like an amazing show. This film demonstrates that he's a Blues man of course, but Bobby Bland transcends just one style, & is masters them all. All in one set. sometimes in one song, or even a single note.
King of ad lib, working a crowd. started doing trills and runs and all kinds of things back in the 60's that people think today's soul artists invented. Only he did it with SOUL. Never seemed contrived. Never forced or rushed. Just real and humble to the core, with a warm spirit. Love this man. He is singing on a bigger stage for real now.
To my fav blues singer,THANK YOU!!! R.I.P. You have always made my days better, just hearing your many stories thru songs! You'll always be with me,and I'll cherish the concert in New Orleans in 09!!!
