Amazing NET logo history. As a 2000s, I used to watch Sesame Street on other channels, NET is a classic and rarest logo in history. I really enjoy it. Excellent work and 1 last thing. The following program is from NET, the national educational television network.
Spectacular history/compilation of idents from former National Educational Television (now PBS), Jonty!! NET/National Educational Television is a pretty interesting educational TV network, and they made/distributed fantastic shows such as Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. There's also Sesame Street, which is one of the longest running TV shows of all time (it premiered in the late 1960's and it still continues running to this day, like HOLY CRAP!). The same can be said for its successor PBS, which has a lot of fantastic shows, especially kid's ones (although the worst one out of them is Caillou, especially the first two seasons of it). Back to NET, their logos and idents are interesting, especially the ones with the house-shaped logo design, which is a nice predecessor to the iconic "P-Head" logo from PBS. What I think is the best ident from NET would be the 1967 ident (26:02). It's one of the most well known television logos among the community along with the Screen Gems "S from Hell" logo, its animation is decently made for the 1960s standards, and the music is nice to listen to (although it's absolutely creepy when the film's deteriorated which results in an awful audio quality, as seen in examples such as 25:40, 25:52 ("this is ET, the Extraterrestrial Television Network"...), 26:42, 28:35 and 29:42). Other than that, there's the early 1970s ident (32:40) with a fantastically done early computer animation (Scanimate animation).
Thanks very much! Fred Rogers was a kind and caring man who loved doing he did and was always in good spirits whenever we saw him on TV. Sesame Street is also a brilliant program, and I certainly remember watching it as a kid, and my mother also grew up with it. It was very well known in New Zealand. And its successor does indeed have some good programs, such as Reading Rainbow, Arthur, NOVA, etc. Caillou can be rather annoying though, so I kind of agree with you on that statement. The 1967 is probably one of their best known idents, with nice music from Eric Siday, although the way it warps in some damaged film prints is indeed rather creepy. Imagine hearing that when going for a midnight walk along the cold streets. The 1970 ident is a nice example of scanimation. Yeah making 40 minute logo histories are as easy as making a cup of coffee. Jokes aside, I do remember seeing logo histories that were extremely long, such as DellFan's Cartoon Network LH.
And for some reason, if you slow the speed down to .25x during the 10th ident, it will make the announcer sound drunk. In addition the film gets jumpy (after being stable for the better part of the video up to this point ) at the last of the 10th ident, (25:14) and will vary at times during idents 11 and onwards.
I forgot to watch it, anyways this is a good logo history. I might want to make PBS Logo History on this year or Next year. A nice from NET from 10th & 11th logo, also in 11th Logo might be a classics & and the 10th logo it might to get little scary.

This year marked 70 years of public television and next year, PBS will turn 55 years old. What a big day for public broadcasting!
