    Great tutorial! I got this little synth about two weeks ago. I already had a Volca Bass so I was leary about how much of a difference there would be. There's a big difference. And I have been learning more about how the different sound waves and oscillators interact with each other than the Volca Bass could've taught me.
    Anyway, thanks for this great video for making sequences. I normally run the Crave through a Beatstep Pro, but it is fun to see what sequences I can get from the Crave as a stand alone unit.

    C minor pretty much. Good all-purpose scale. Add D and F# for the minor blues scale, D and Ab for the harmonic minor.

      @@SynthesaurusRex Oops, my bad- there’s no D in the C minor blues scale. Otherwise correct I think!

      We electronicers usually hate music theory, but there's even a name for this set of notes: it's called "pentatonic minor scale". But I didn't learn it from that. Like you, I just noticed one day that I do this all the time without realising it. 😁

    I am new to all this. I aquired in this order MicroKorg 2, RD-6, TD-3, Crave. I just got them all hooked up together. Still working it out but getting some results and this video was so easy to understand. I had no idea those notes would work like that! So cool! I subscribed and want to watch more of your tutorials! - KC - 11.3.24

      Thank you very much, bassplayer! You get an extra-shoutout from me, because THAT'S the exact kind of comment which motivates me to go on with my content - hearing from people who actually benefit from my stuff. I am actually planning on making a video about the "pentatonic minor scale" - which is, in musical theory terms, the system is called I am using in that video.

    that's the pentatonic scale, with the root note Eb :D you can also use only the upper row of keys (what would be the black keys on a piano).

    • @SynthesaurusRex
      @SynthesaurusRex  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is very correct, lit2021, but I tried to avoid confusing music theory terms like "pentatobic scale". I tried to explain it like I would to my non-music grandma. 😁

    How did you get the Crave to sync with the circuit?,,,i try midi out and it dosent sound right at all.

    • @SynthesaurusRex
      @SynthesaurusRex  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I plug the NCs MIDI Out to the BCs MIDI in, and set the BC to MIDI channel 14, because the NC sends notes out on channels 1, 2 and 10. There are those switches on the back of the BC you have to use for that, the manual expalins how to do it.
