Great information. I have silence callers on but it keeps reverting to off. I don't know why this happens. I provided feedback to Apple about the Phone app. Like email VIPS get a yellow star, the same should be done with callers, VIPs and your contacts. When you want to block a number, swipe to block and delete instead of pressing i. My block list has over 100 numbers, I said it would be nice to have the numbers in numerical order so I don't have to scroll to find it. Also, missed calls are in red. Allow acknowledgement of the call so it turns from red to black.

Glad I found and subbed to this channel even though I'm still using an Android phone. Hope to buy my first iPhone soon and these tips will come in handy. Thank you Ellen.

Thank you Ellen 🤗 Im so tempted to use the silence unknown callers but sadly my doctor's always use unknown. The calls I really hate is 'Private number'😡 is there a fix for this? Xx

But I still get an SMS notifying me that I have a missed call from that blocked number - almost as annoying . How do I get rid of this?

Hi Marianne! You should not be getting any notifications when a blocked number contacts you through text or call. If you are, Apple advises checking the helpful steps in this article to make sure you have set up the blocks correctly: Avoid unwanted calls on iPhone - Apple Support.
In addition, as with all unexpected iPhone behavior, try taking the following steps which may help with this: restart your iPhone and make sure it is up to date.
      Restart your iPhone
"Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

First, contact your state senator. Second, put your number on the National Do Not Call List. Also, this does not stop them leaving a voicemail, so you will most likely have a ton of voicemails that will only be seconds long. You can block all you want as they normally will not use that number again.
