This is one of your finer cars bro. Real nice. You will not see cooling fan fins cracking off on anything built by these guys. They have a lower cost line of cars and even those are pretty well made. This electric setup you have here? Wow. Very nice. Losi is hanging in there. It took the R/C industry awhile to get high powered drive combined with the balance of the car.
@@rcguygarage Agreed. They were more pricey and needed modification. I have an old Kinwald version Losi buggy. Electric. Still in good shape. I plan to change the electronics but need to be sure the chassis can handle it. I'd snatch one of those 1/5 scales if I had the cash.
Awesome vid. I run mine with 6700 maH and it’s about 15 minutes run time. Guess I need bigger batteries too. Would be awesome to see the big Losi back in action 💪
@@rcguygarage the stock servo is very weak in my dbxle. It barley steers back to neutral after making a turn. I think I will try it with the dx5rugged and a better servo. Should be a good change. So far mine is still stock and I just love the way it handles. Suspension wise it’s freakin awesome. Or absolutely mint like u would say

It's very difficult to answer your question the x-max is supposed to be known as a bruiser the dbxle 2.0 is a brute but not designed for bashing if you get my drift so what I'm saying is that it's still hard to tell you what to get because between the two vehicles that you listed they drive so differently

Very cool buggy man. I have the V1 dbxl-e with tons of upgrades throughout it's life. But I have to say it is the best stock out of the box 5th scale RC out there. So fun to drive. The 2.0 ironed out the few kinks in the previous version. Didn't take much lol. Great showing of this new buggy. Thanks for sharing!!
@@MBailey1977 radio system, steering servo, aluminum servo saver, recommend 16T pinion and FID aluminum diff housings with rubber sealed bearings throughout. The diff pinion bearings usually go first. Max5 esc is recommended too

I now watched your driving with DBXL E and DB Pro several times. I ask myself, if DBXL E is it worth to go. It‘s massive and great and so on but overall, I am receiving signals, which are telling me, that I can have more and relaxed fun with the DB Pro.
One thing I found with my first generation dbxl-e if you put 500k weight fluid in the center diff you will have better performance and your front tires will last longer. By the way nice lawn dart.

Trying to decide between this the Mojave and the super Baja Rey will be my first rc in 20 plus years make it a little smaller Mojave and work my way up to this big boy
I've got a thought. Since it's been 20 years. Buy a traxxas maxx. Small very resilient basher next Mojave MUCH faster basher ROCKET. skip the super Rey then move onto the DBXL if by that time something else hasn't come out or changed your direction of driving. I've got Fairly broad spectrum of RC's and know why i have each of then for their usage

What is the factory mounting position of the rear axle hinge pins for track setting? Mine was delivered with the right one in the outer hole position and the left in the inner position. So is it both out or in? thanks

I noticed in your jumps that the front end would start to dip in midair and then something made it flatten out- are you adding throttle to adjust the flight attitude? Really cool, working up the nerve to jump mine again after nosing over a couple of times- any tips would be awesome. Thanks

i stuck 2 ZEEE 9000mAh 14.8V EC5 4S 100C Lipo Battery Metal Plates in my dbxl-e they fit with just a little custom fitting, had like 40 to 45 min run time, ebay ftw

Here's where things get rough. This thing is a blast to drive and kills thre terrain for how it's designed. It's a buggy that will HANDLE the ground instead of just bounce all over it. Comparing the two together you can't. XMAXX is an all out basher while this one has class and finesse if that makes sense. I bought this over an XMAXX as the precision and tuning in its build is to me TOP NOTCH. Run time depends on your batteries obviously but for its first time out I didn't really pay attention to that as I was more focusing on how it handled and what it likes and doesn't. Loaded with reaction 5000 50c batteries it tipped the scales at 31.6lbs and you will find yourself pinning the throttle cause it has excellent grip to ground. Don't know if that helps any. For me it's nicknamed the "MONSTA" cause it is. 👍💯👊
@@rcguygarage I didn't compare them. I'm in the market for a large scale truck, and the Kraton doesn't tickle my fancy - only really leaves the X-Maxx and the DBXL-E. My biggest problem simply is, i hear many stories about how the DBXLE runs like 7 minutes until LVC, and that'd be a bit.. well, underwhelming. I know it's heavy, but a Kraton 8s isn't THAT much lighter (around 28lbs loaded) and runs for quite a while from what videos are showing. I do expect at least 13-15 minutes of runtime on 6750mah packs (biggest decent quality packs you can get over here, by GensAce).
@@m4ini the extra weight does make a scale difference but still didn't deter me from the losi. But that is the decision i made based on what i knew and wanted. The kraton 8s is HUGE too 😂🤣. Way too many choices but they are good at figuring out how to spend your money👍
Great video. I was waiting to buy a arrma 8s but bought this instead. Losi has been doing 1/5 scale a long time. They got it rite. I have the same car. Love it. It’s the 2.0 so all the complaints consumers had were dealt with.
RC Guy Garage smc 8000mah C Rate 110 Amps / 75C 385 Power Factor. They don’t last great either. I have a hobbywing max 5 and a 56113 in a xmaxx running stock batteries. That lasts longer. The problem is the weight of the dbxl. The xmaxx weighs lots less!

Kind of tough to answer that but from my experience it seems like I was probably hitting around half to a quarter throttle

Have ALWAYS had an affinity for losi but earlier in the hobby it was semi unattainable. Things are different now both ways! 👍💯👊

I bought this over an XMAXX as the precision and tuning in its build is to me TOP NOTCH. Run time depends on your batteries obviously but for its first time out I didn't really pay attention to that as I was more focusing on how it handled and what it likes and doesn't. Loaded with reaction 5000 50c batteries it tipped the scales at 31.6lbs and you will find yourself pinning the throttle cause it has excellent grip to ground. Don't know if that helps any. For me it's nicknamed the "MONSTA" cause it is. 👍💯👊
@@rcguygarage I didn't compare them. I'm in the market for a large scale truck, and the Kraton doesn't tickle my fancy - only really leaves the X-Maxx and the DBXL-E. My biggest problem simply is, i hear many stories about how the DBXLE runs like 7 minutes until LVC, and that'd be a bit.. well, underwhelming. I know it's heavy, but a Kraton 8s isn't THAT much lighter (around 28lbs loaded) and runs for quite a while from what videos are showing. I do expect at least 13-15 minutes of runtime on 6750mah packs (biggest decent quality packs you can get over here, by GensAce).
@@m4ini the extra weight does make a scale difference but still didn't deter me from the losi. But that is the decision i made based on what i knew and wanted. The kraton 8s is HUGE too 😂🤣. Way too many choices but they are good at figuring out how to spend your money👍

Great video. I was waiting to buy a arrma 8s but bought this instead. Losi has been doing 1/5 scale a long time. They got it rite. I have the same car. Love it. It’s the 2.0 so all the complaints consumers had were dealt with.

RC Guy Garage smc 8000mah C Rate 110 Amps / 75C 385 Power Factor. They don’t last great either. I have a hobbywing max 5 and a 56113 in a xmaxx running stock batteries. That lasts longer. The problem is the weight of the dbxl. The xmaxx weighs lots less!
