I’ve been really sad about retiring Gallop, but today it’s time to party, not cry! Let’s celebrate the 7 years this big man dedicated to being my service dog!
Hey Marley I’m going to miss Gareth because when I joined your channel originally he was there when I joined and I remember all the adventures you had with him and I know that you say today is meant to be happy but just it’s gonna be sad for me because I’m gonna miss scallop I’ve gotten used to him because I never knew your previous guide dog gypsy so yeah I’m going to miss him

YES I saw the thumbnail. But then I see a little ribbon when Molly is introducing Gallops friend and I'm thinking what kind of leash is on that. Wow I did not put 2 and 2 together. LOL
I also have a three-legged dog! No one asks if she can do tricks though. I get “what’s wrong with your dog?” a lot instead. Which, she can shake/give paw and she decided to start peeing with one back leg lifted like a boy dog a few months after surgery 😂 (she falls over if she lifts the wrong one but this doesn’t deter her). She was born without a shoulder on one side and so her now-missing leg was never usable or technically connected to her body. It’s pretty cool how animals adapt and how well they get around with a limb missing.
When he plays at the end, it's so bittersweet. He is happily enjoying the first day of retirement, he knows that the rest of his life is all fun and no work.
Gallop worked so hard and he's going to enjoy his retirement with your parents so much! He is the goodest boy, and will continue living his best good boy life, just not a working boy life.
Gallop is half of why I voted for Gigi on the name poll. We'll always appreciate his and Gypsy's work and companionship and love! Also I'm obsessed with your party guests!!!
As much as we'll miss Gallop he deserves to enjoy himself after working so hard for so long. Even though it's bittersweet I think everyone has been looking forward to this since you announced that he was retiring Molly.
Awww sweet boy. I love his little white old man hairs haha. He’s always reminded me so much of my family dog growing up, especially the distinguished silver hairs emerging. Kind, gentle, calm and goofy. I know I’m just some stranger but I’m very happy that you had him and that he has had you. Big big world out there and you two ended up in one another’s life and in its own big and small way that’s such a miracle and gift. Wishing you both all the best on your next steps in life. ❤️

This is so bittersweet. Happy retirement Gallop! It's very well deserved! This also reminds me that my dad probably has to retire his guide dog in the next couple years.
Our family have had wonderful fortunes to Foster Guide Dogs when owner in hospital and no one available to watch, provide home to give intensive medical treatment before returning to owner and also adopting 2 dogs who due to hip problems could not continue training. Zeff aka Zeffebabe and Meg aka Meggy Moo were the most wonderful companions. Zeff not only had hip problems but obsession with my daughters socks all these years later I still count socks in and out of wash Zeff use to at find any opportunity to eat said socks before you could stop him but hey counting socks not so hard. Meg was the gentle soul who mothered all other animals right till the end. I so miss them
I got to retire four out of five of my GUIDE DOGS. Because my second one died at work in my arms with a massive heart attack. But the other four I got to retire keep with the following guide dog. What time you get to number five guide dog it won’t be bad. When I got to guide dog number to retire ring him was an option because he died in my arms with a massive heart attack Guide three it was no problem retiring him even though I had to force him into retirement like my first one. So my first and third in fourth guide dogs had to force in retirement guide dog five will be ready for retirement I don’t blame because he still has a lot of energy even though he’s full of gray.

Given the tragedy that happened with Gypsy, I think you should try to look at it as a celebration that Gallop gets to enjoy his life as a retiree. What a blessing that he gets to live a long, healthy, happy life.
Honestly, I saw Gallop showing signs of hip soreness around 2 years ago but didn't say anything because I knew it was going to make itself apparent in due time. Since that kind of thing affect working zeal and Molly was so attentive towards his willingness to work. I so wish dogs lived as long as horses.
Watching Gallop get so excited about the cheese... it must be a labrador thing! My black lab will do anything for cheese! Monthly heartworm and flea medicine? No problem! I just wrap it up in cheese and he eats it up like it's the best treat in the world! Happy Retirement Gallop! 💜 🦮
