Binh was left behind in the American Embassy, when Saigon fell. He contributed heavily to the movie "Last Days of Vietnam,". The movie was nominated for an academy award in 2015. He passed away shortly after the movies release. He lived several lives during his years on this earth, but still had so much more to give. RIP my friend.
Binh did a demonstration at the bucks county wood turners meeting where i am a member . his demo inspired me to produce some pieces like his style . His artistry is fantastic and is hard to imitate but i enjoy working at it . His design thoughts are mind boggling and his cultore is exemplified in all his work . I just love it and am proud that i had the chance to speak with him. Ron Durr bucks wood turner
Speaking as a woodturner, ' it doesn't get better than this', the concept, design and reasoning are well documented here, not much emphasis on the skill and technical ability of the artist which is at the very highest level, stunning work, thank you for posting this, a real pleasure to watch.
I just saw this exhibit twice in South Caroline. I first saw it without having read the book, and then again after. Very powerful and a timeless story. I would have given anything to be able to stay in that amazing fairy-land place forever!
