    Just got my a 1993 Ford f150 long bed made in new port news Virginia 2nd owner with 90k miles .thing looks like it came off the factory floor . Love it

    I loved my OBS Ford F350 dually powerstroke with the five speed. It came with a few issues like the transmission had some slop in it and some bushings took care of it, the steering column bearings were so far gone that as luck would have it, I found one for a hundred that was a duplicate if mine with the very same controls.. made me so happy and so easy to change out... one of the very easiest ones I've repaired as I'm seventy three and a cripple. Mine was a factory flatbed, aluminum with the tool boxes and other features. I am mentioning all of this because my brothers was the regular cab and mine was the quad cab with a visor over the windshield. I didn't see it in your brochure so not positive its factory now. One thing for sure, it came from the dealer with it on the rig and boy howdy.. really dressed it up. Alcoa aluminum rims that were sixteen inch with the 245 X 16 by 7" wide rim.... that was really a nice fit. All in all, at two hundred seventy thousand and still like new inside. It does have the "Pleather interior". Bucket seats and console. Its still factory paint and has absolutely zero rust on it yet its a work truck. It has escaped all of the usual dents or rust somehow here in alaska. If I were to customize it, the interior would be the 2010 King Ranch or the Harley Davidson interiors design with cameras... it does present some challenge to get into a parking space at times

    I am sure someone has asked this but did you change the gear ratio when you went to the 35" tires and yes the 15" wheels look Great. I am building a 95 F150 single cab short bed. 138,000 miles and almost no rust. I got lucky there. I will be installing a BDS full 6" lift with extended radius arms and new BDS rear leaf springs, 35" BFGoodrich AT K02`s 4:56 gears, I am building a 351 lightning motor with a few upgrades. Your truck is so nice looking! Thanks for posting.

    I have the same truck and I have a tip for all of the plastic in side of the truck I put tire shine on it. It makes it last longer and shine nicely as for the floor I use a wet rag and wipe it then use the tire shin and it look really good.

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Trim... what exactly do you mean by trim? Like the inserts in the dash? I don't think anyone makes those anymore... probably the only place would be searching a salvage yard. Lots of good pieces to be found for cheap there.

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmmm.....not at the moment. I thought the clock spring would have fixed the cruise. Mine has been like that for probably 15 years. One of those things I'm just not that concerned with but recently have been thinking about looking into and fixing. Maybe I will do a video on this in the not too distant future.

    I recently bought a 93 F150 Xlt long bed with low mileage. Through selling some things, doing odd jobs, and working, I've begun to make her the truck I've always wanted. It has an aftermarket fuel system, cold air intake (with a custom made airbox to prevent from mud), cab lights, cb radio, new toolbox, and a new sound system. Buy selling old stuff, the only money I've put into it from working is about $100. I plan within the next 2 month to do a 6" suspension lift, larger wheels and tires, a black widow muffler, a new set of headers, and a headache rack. All said and done, I priced it out to where my grand total should be about $4,500-5,000 (including purchase price of the truck). I can't wait to have her all said and done. Keep making awesome videos!

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love the truck!! I got a 1992 f150. Thinking of doing the same. But would I be crazy to put a small lift, new tires Ect. If it's only 2wd?? I'm going back and forth trying to decide

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      How about just leveling the front? New coils up front, lift it 2 inches to level it out with the rear. That's what I did before I decided to lift it.

    • @luc888saul
      @luc888saul 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    @mark98070 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wanted to ask you if you replaced the front bumper. Mine is rusting from the inside out through the chrome plating. I wanted to replace it, not sure if I can get an OEM bumper but I did find a few aftermarket ones. Problem is I just don't know about about the quality.
    Guage of the steel, fit & finish etc. Could you recommend something. Thanks much! Love your videos!!!

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine is the original bumper that came on the truck. Could probably find a good one at a salvage yard with a little looking. Other than that there are lots of aftermarket bumpers, or can even fit on a newer model Ford truck bumper. They actually look pretty good. Move bumpers, you weld them together yourself.. also Absalutediesel Performance Products has a nice front and rear bumper. You can find those in my Facebook Group OBS Revolution.

      The Fox Shop thanks for the info. I've got an 04 f150 heritage of like to paint that color .... might look goofy though, since it's not a stock color for that year. But 2 time white and green looks awesome. Love the truck btw!!

    man I've been watching this channel on and off for a few weeks now, and it's taken me forever to realize why I like your trucks so much; I may not have had am f150, but my first truck was a 94 ranger, and I think I love these videos because what you're doing is what I wanted to do with that truck while I had it, keep up the videos man, I love em!

    I just got in a car accident a few weeks ago, my 93 f150 is all messed up. I want to get it fixed but my insurance is trying to mess with me... I have a lightning v8 in it and it's still in good condition with good miles on it, but they seem to not care.

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I imagine the insurance company just looks at it as a every day regular ol 23 year old F150. They don't want to pay to fix a old truck and that's all it is... to them. Best bet would if they total it, take what they will give you and then buy it back and get to work. That's bad news bud. I wish you the best with it... let me know how it all turns out. At the very least, somehow get the engine back out of it!

    Love what you've done with the restoration!! . I drive a 95' calypso green extended cab 6'er.
    Your videos are rather inspirational. I'm lamenting the tear down from the underside-up in order to find an engine oil drip somewhere around the main bearing ( 1qt every two months or so( enough to leave an embarrassing blemish on driveways), along with some electrical issues (turn signal ground issues? power window p/s won't go down). She has 175k mi of west coast Canadian history, needless to say there is relatively little rust or corrosion damage.
    Anyway, I'm very impressed with your work.keep it up!!!
    Magnus,

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Really appreciate it! Wouldnt be surprised if your oil leak is from the rear main seal. (these trucks are 20+ years old no matter how you look at it) but the rear main seal is a pretty common place for a leak. Not really a lot to worry about unless it is leaking a LOT. A qt every couple months.. thats not horrible, but if you are leaving oil everywhere you park.... on the window issue, is the motor spinning in the door but the window wont go down? Or you try to put it down and there is just nothing there?

    I have a 1995 F350, and I really want to convert it to a four-wheel drive, I love this truck and really don't want to let it go, but how much would I realistically be looking at cost-wise if I got a shop to do a 4wd swap on a OBS F-350?

    I've been wondering how I can fix my front bumper from sagging. It doesn't sit flush with the rest of the truck. Do you have any advice?

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just loosen the 4 big nuts up in front... you can get to them pretty easy, just get under the front of the truck and you will see what I'm talking about. Loosen those and you should be able to move it around somewhat. There is only so much adjustment available. Maybe something got bent at some point?

  • @Tim52581

    This is a great truck but 10k just in parts without any additional power upgrades seems like a lot of money to throw at a half ton. I won’t finish mine to this level but I bought a 96 4x4 f150 with 150k long bed for 600 bucks. I’ve got 900 bucks in brake lines, coil spring mounts with front leveling kit, rr shackle mount and hanger, glass pack muffler and custom tailpipe, this includes paint for the frame as well. I still have to do four patch areas, oil pan alignment, tires and paint. At most I think I’d have at most 3500 total in it to do a similar job with similar resale value so I still am a little shocked at 10k but it is a great looking nearly new truck at probably a quarter the price of a new 5.0 4x4.

    Hey man, great video and wow you did an amazing job. I myself have a Ford F150 xlt 5.0 v8 1994 model. Has 147.000 miles on it. There are two fuel tanks as you know. front and rare. when i drive it in front fuel i feel like i have much less power then when i drive it in rare fuel tank. I was hoping consider you have rebuilt this car you might know what is cosing the problem i have. Do you think the fuel filter on my front tank is done and it would be enough to change it or do i need to change the hole fuel pump? it also starts easier when i have it in rare fuel pump

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is only 1 fuel filter, its mounted along the frame rail. Do you mean the sock attached to the fuel pump? Kinda doubt it but could be. Funny you mention that... I have always thought my truck ran better on the rear tank. Does it? I dunno, probably not and I just mark it up to all being in my head. I have new pumps in both tanks, new tanks, new fuel filter, and I still think that LOL.. Always have. Its possible your front pump is getting weak. Have you done a fuel pressure test running on the front tank and then switching to the rear?

    • @sigurdurhauksson6414
      @sigurdurhauksson6414 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks for a quick response. I have been searching on youtube if somebody had the same problem and what i was hoping for was if it was the 1 fuel filter that is mounted along the frame rail. haha because thats an easy and a cheap fix. But yes i definitely think my car runs better on the rear tank. It's not that big of a deal but i just really love how my car runs on the rare tank and was kind of hoping i could fix it by changing the fuel filter so that it runs as fantastic as the rare tank. I haven't done a fuel pressure test yet. But i think that will be my next move. Do you have any idea what it could be that makes my car less powerless on the front tank. I don't know if this is true but i heard that this is kind of an issue with the old f150 that they came with a pump that isnt big enough so thats why it feels like its not as powerful, ive heard they added a bigger pump and the problem went away.

    • @TheFoxShop
      @TheFoxShop  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never heard of them doing that (Adding a bigger pump) Before redoing my truck I did a pressure test on front and rear, and they pretty much matched. Mine is so slight that I have even marked it up to just a little more weight when the front tank is full of fuel.. but really I think its all just in my head. LOL

    • @CydiaTweeker
      @CydiaTweeker 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sigurdur Hauksson I have the same 1994 f150 xlt dual tank and recently the front pump/tank stopped working completely. So I'm only using the rear tank currently, but the problem is the rear tank sends fuel to the engine, then whatever fuel it didn't use it bleeds the fuel pressure into the front tank. So in like a 50mile trip It can send half a tank to the front and I need to Siphon it out

    Your truck is amazing, I don't blame you for not wanting to take it out in the elements which rusted it in the first place.
    I have a 95 f150 myself, it's not a 4x4 but I would still love to fix it up and get it looking really nice. Maybe if I decide to go through with it, I'll be able to ask you some questions!
