I use that cleaner on my car rims , rinse with water first then spray on and use a toothbrush.. I say soak the engine down, and power wash the heck out of it. You can always blow out the distributor with compressed air. Are you going to fix it up and kind of a beater truck for the winter ?
@@TheFoxShop I don’t know how bad the rust is, maybe just patch it up and drive it the way it is. I say go south and drive something back that isn’t at that rusty., but that’s just me. Most vehicles around here are falling apart that are 2014 years ! Lol. I go down to Toronto to buy less rust junk. Lol
Hey Neighbor ! I’ll explain that in a moment. For 4 bucks I’d say it work just fine. The lower grease is just baked on and doesn’t give up very easy. Overall it looks so much better. Now neighbor, I went on a trip with the wife to Cedar Rapids Ia. It’s really beautiful country. BUT when I was about 4 hours from the motel I noticed I needed power steering fluid. Everybody knows the whinny sound it makes when low. I added some in. I was really praying that my line didn’t blow out. When I finally got to the motel late in the day Wednesday it was whining loudly. Open the hood and fluid all over the engine compartment. I didn’t pray hard enough I guess. The power steering lines gave way. The next morning I was at a Midas and 1750.00 later and lighter I had new lines and a Reconditioned pump. But I got it fixed. Took my first 2 Uber rides and had 2 Uber eats. DUNKIN Donuts and pizza later that day. We meet others we were , bred the dog and back to the motel. Home late Saturday and heard the whining pump sound….again. Went to Midas here in East Greenbush and Monday they are going to replace the pump….again. I was driving and said to the wife about you living in Central Iowa. So looking for a home, secluded and corn all around. That’s about half the state. Now a serious question…I noticed when driving just before Iowa, we noticed at the end of the cornfields there was satellite dishes that was painted in all kinds of colors. Any idea what that was…. Was a little, disturbing but what the hell. Beautiful country…. But you all have the same properties. 😊 Anyhow glad Buddy is getting better. The truck is looking pretty good. Keep up the good work! I’m also replacing the water pump and fan motor next week. Take care… Keep up the good fight! (Whatever that is supposed to mean) Bill
@@TheFoxShop Yeah, real nice! So much for a little alone time with the wife. Those satellite dishes were a little spooky. It will be awhile before I head that way again! And the parts were more than double from Advanced Auto.
$1750? Yup, Midas and all those auto chain repair shops work on commissions and are noted for overcharging, adding marginal repairs and inflating costs to customers. Too bad you couldn't have found a similar shop to The South Main Auto shop in Avoca, NY!
@@freetolook3727 I wish he was closer. SMA is RaymondRay Repairs are the ones I follow. SMA is about 4 1/2 hours from where I live. Eric can fix out of tower vehicles in an emergency but won’t take regular repairs from far away. Midas got their parts from Advanced Auto and when I got the bill, I looked the parts up by the part number and it was a little more than double for the hoses and pump. Was between a rock and a hard place. New lines and refurbished pump…. Damn!
Miss the old shop, but thankful you have this one.
Hope y'all well Jon
that stuff is amazing. its really good at getting stains out of carpet and seats.
Pushrod cover, also called the lifter galley cover, very common leak on the 300 I6.
That stuff is good. My father has used that for cleaning the oil off of his bowling balls for years.
Just don't think it... or anything else would get so that thick goop off... but.. didn't hurt anything 😆
I use it on my tires and wheels spray it on full strength but if you don't scrub it right away it will streak .
Jon,
Looking a lot better. Face is filled out now instead of that gaunt look and skin tone looks healthier.
The crisis has passed and you survived!
👍😁
😂... My girlfriend Leanna is taking good care of me lol
Looked up the MSDS safety sheet for LA Totally awesome.
It's mostly water, about 85%, with a small percentage of sufficants and cleaners.
I would think most cleaners are. You don't need much of the right chemicals. I have some detail stuff that can be diluted much more than 85%.
Turbo it. Seen a number of 300 with turbos on youtube. Worth checking out.

Not sure yet lol... may just drive it like it is... but I really want to start fixing it up

My wife discovered this cleaner first part of the year. She calls it Awesome Sauce. I take it you used it undiluted?
Yep, I didn't mention that I guess 😆
Brown on the outside and brown on the inside!
😂😂
Not supose to let that stuff dry
