thank you for this! had my Lectio Divina of the Road to Emmaus today ❤
Our Lord, definitely likes to sneak up on people 😅 haha but kidding aside, just when we get doubtful/fearful/lost, He reminds us that He is always with us

thanks a lot! It's so refreshing for the all-life Catholics (with so much routine in our faith) to hear such enthusiastic commentary of biblical scenes. Thank you so much!

@@tony1685 That is a Terrible Thing to say about fellow Christians...Didn't Jesus say that the Most Important Commandment was to Love God Completely and Love Your Fellow Man as Yourself? AND even love Your Enemies? Your Comment is Displeasing Jesus!

@@tony1685 I stand by my original comment. Catholicism is not, "The Evil Ways of Satan"...I really don't think anything I could write would change Your Opinion about the RCC...I'll let Jesus do the Heavy Lifting on that through the Holy Spirit. Peace-Out, Worthless Servant of Jesus Christ, John💒🌄

All through Lent and throughout the pandemic, we have been so blest to have Dr. Bergsman's talks, along with other St. Paul's Center speakers, helping us to unpack Scripture. We wouldn't miss any of them! Thank you and God bless!!

It is a prototype of the mass? Wonderful! Take that, Traditionalists! Jesus was facing those who were going to receive when he lifted the bread and broke it. What a great way to get them to conform to the right way of doing things.

It is really a mass. The lesson now is not to keep seeing Jesús with your eyes but with your heart as in the blessed bread. Another of the greater miracles.

Regarding "the road to Emmaus" Gospel passage. I like to think about it as the 1st mass open to the general public. Also, although many assume the two disciples were men, it could be a married couple. I love this passage because my dad's name was Cleophas (the French spelling of the named disciple)

Two women, not so sure. Some Church fathers think Cleophas as the husband of the second Mary who was at the cross with the mother of Jesus. And if they were a married couple, the Gospels would have mentionned It I think .
