The part about Randy’s time in the Marines is crazy, especially with how some people here mentioned recruiters being like drug dealers, just like a 90’s commercial where a dealer ironically turned into a viper.
Adding to what is said about the Marine Corp. here, I have a horror story of my own. One of my cousins married a marine. They had only been married for a few weeks when he was sent to some kind of training thing with his unit out in California. While he was there, another soldier somehow managed to acquire and use live rounds during the training. There aren't supposed to be any live rounds anywhere on the entire base, according to what I've been told. Anyway, he gets shot by one of the guys from his unit during training. He slowly dies and is not allowed to call home and talk to his wife or newly adopted daughter. A gag order is put upon the other marines and to this day, she has never been told what he said during his dying moments. The Marine Corp. gave him full honors for his funeral, which was astonishing. I'll give them credit for that. But then she is told that she will see no benefits of any kind coming from the Marine Corp. since they had been married for only a short time. I think they said since it was less than 6 months or something like that. The fact that the Marine Corp. was 100% responsible for his death didn't seem to matter at all. She was pregnant with his baby during all of this time and now has a son. The Marine Corp. has done nothing for her since that funeral. So yeah, I also don't think so highly of the Marine Corp.
I've seen the Marine Corps ex vets walk around outside of a Walmart shouting and yelling and threatening the homeless people who are in need of help. Just to show off their physical prowess and command superiority. Marines are A holes. PJs are the coolest. Those guys actually care and are involved in quick rescue and medical assistance. 👍

This can't be 100% true because that's not how things work in the Marine Corp, you may have been given bad information, what year did this happen because it couldn't have been in the past 100 years. A lot of the things you described just aren't true based off the many SOP's that the base goes by.
Cody Rhodes tells a story detailing Randy Orton ripping a urinal clean off the wall, in Mexico maybe. Cody is walking past the rest room, Orton is in there, sees Cody, goes, “Hey, kid, watch this.” and yanks the urinal off the wall with his bare hands. Water is shooting everywhere, blah blah blah.

Randy is unapologetically himself. He's one of the greatest in-ring wrestlers of all time, and he's so nonchalant about it. Once he got dedicated to it, he never looked back. Plus, the screw this, I'm going home attitude is so gd relatable.
Randy is one of those ppl that are just innately good at everything they do. Its rare but some ppl just have a quality where it takes little to no effort and they’re good can go to great like that. Him mentoring Cody was actually a match made for eachother
There should be a story where Randy works with a newer, younger guy, and they play up his previous "legend killer" gimmick but he's now the legend, and the new guy comes in with his chest puffed out, talking bad about all the legends (coincidentally those that Randy "killed" / beat), but Randy defends them and puts them on a pedestal instead. He puts the new guy over, but all of those legends he disrespected back in his younger days walk out to thank him and shake his hand.
After taking a hiatus when I started watching wrestling back in 2002-2005 after the attitude era as a kid, Randy was by far one of the greatest young workers and sellers I saw. Whenever my buddies and I did backyard wrestling I used to emulate orton. Dude was crazy athletic and amazing in the ring to watch
He didn't knock the marines he just was probably sheltered so much growing up and had money that the marines was a cultural shock lot of guys find excuses to get out failure to adapt
I prefer when these biography’s are about retired wrestlers … Randy still has plenty left in his story ..so these shows always feel incomplete to me ..
We better appreciate Randy now while we still have him as an active performer because he will retire sooner rather than later. Dude is a future hall of famer no doubt.
I'm glad Brian corrected himself. Poughkeepsie is 2 counties north of Westchester. Gotta cross through Putnam County to get into Dutchess and it's still another 20 to 30min once you get into Fishkill
To me it's kinda hard to believe that Randy blew his dad's career totally away so quickly. Bob never really achieved major promotion championship success, especially like Randy has. My always call me RKO for a long time because Randy became my top favorite after Trips started phasing out lol. I'd rather see Randy Orton surpass the 16 World Titles than that robotic a$$ John Cena... 🤔
Bob was an excellent technician, and a good heel. Randy is one of the few wrestling sons to eclipse his father. Most of the offspring have failed miserably. Cody and Dustin were never going to be able to match their father, but they were both very good. It can not be easy to follow that act.
Good correction, Brian. I work in Westchester County, and my biker gang second cousins live in Dutchess County, and one of those things is not like the other 🙆♂️
Randy Orton is one different breed. He is one of the top guys/veterans who never losses momentum by putting over talents even if he losses he gains it back. I remember him putting over Cesaro clean when he was WWE World Heavyweight Champion in random SmackDown, or when he lost the title to Jinder Mahal. His style and work should be studied.

I enjoyed the documentary. The hazing explains why Randy went A wall and was discharged. Randy was a natural at being a heel. He was a jerk when he was in his 20's. Randy having a daughter mellow him out. He is more mature and humble. He is a future hall of famer.
Bob, Jr., was a fixture in those short-lived -WF feds in the 90s. He was also AWF's champion from what I heard. Somebody might be able to correct me there. I remember seeing a photo of Orndorff with their belt instead.

@@markrobinson9394 Yea that was cringe. You think Rock wouldn't want to work with Orton? It's something I've always wanted to see since Randy has grown from the evolution days
I remember when he first came to WWE and he was wearing those generic blue shorts and making an O pose with his arms and I thought, “This guy is lame as hell.” But then they put him with Triple H and he changed to the iconic Orton trunks and I started paying attention to him. He was so good in Evolution. He was a natural at being a bad guy.
I realised Randy was a very different cat from his young days when Shane got himself double concussed. Shane’s kids were ringside, and he went and spoke to them because they looked shitscared. Randy’s back was to camera, it was for them, not us, it wasn’t meant to be seen. Young Randy may have agreed that was the right thing do - and it was - but I don’t think it would have occurred to him to do it. And heel or face, I’ve liked Randy ever since.
Michaels is an all time great. Wrestlers can feel the full weight of their careers, and unhealthy lifestyles, in their 40’s and beyond. Many die, and those that don’t, look like train wrecks.
I like Jim but he can really hold on to anger and grudges too often. His obsession with trashing Russo, holding a grudge against Michaels, nitpicking everything he doesn't like about modern wrestling because it's not the old territory days... it's unnecessary and petty. Then again, he's like a lot of the people online nowadays. Everyone is looking to nitpick, criticize, attack, hold grudges, and tear people apart. Everyone is angry and bitter. Offenses and grievances are never shrugged off or resolved anymore. Michaels' life is like an inspirational sports movie. He reached the top, collapsed and imploded and burned bridges, bottomed out, recovered, and came back better than ever. He's exactly the person people should aspire to be if they crash the way he did (even if you don't like the religious part). I can't understand why Jim thinks everyone has to be perfect right away at like 18 years old and never be tempted by demons. He's not perfect either. Everyone is different and some folks have more issues than others. This notion that "once X, always X" is so myopic and absolutist. People can grow and change. I've seen it first hand. It's very hard, but it's absolutely possible.

Ironic since orton was a failed marine
That's an interesting time to drop out of wrestling tbh, right before Wrestlemania X7 and coming back at the end of 2005
Cool story bro
Coming from a Grunt I totally understand Randy’s decision 😂😂😂.
Same man, I wasn't a grunt but there was so much bullshit I hated in my unit, my first 2 years were hell and I considered AWOL often
Orton.. that A&E documentary was awesome. From a lost soul to a bonafide WWE Legend. There will never be another one like Randy Orton in the ring. His timing, technique and delivery is flawless...
This was great. I loved this doc. He is one of my favorite performers and to see him and his family so happy was very sweet.
i remember during an ecw match, it was rvd/angle vs edge and randy.
in the middle of the match, one of randy's shoulders pops out. he then pops it back in. while edge was in the ring. you can see randy on the apron crying, he was in so much pain.
26:31 I remember this well. It was Orton v Edge on a PPV, and I remember Orton ramping up, then suddenly his arm went limp and you could immediately tell something wasn't right. I also remember Orton v HHH and the nasty fall over the top rope straight to the outside and him landing directly on his shoulder. I don't remember which occurrence came first
Hhh thing happened in 07 and i think the edge thing happened in 2009 or 10
Over the Limit 2010, where he popped his shoulder pounding the mat.
Regarding the Marines story and people wonder why Bruce Springsteen wrote Born in the USA.
Considering how that song has been used (or misused) since its release, I'm not sure Springsteen's efforts had the intended effect.
@@DovahFettand that’s really depressing because it’s right there in the lyrics that the song is critical of how this country treats its soldiers
@@DovahFett I'll never forget the absolute hilarity of Glenn Beck's segment "hey guys, these lyrics are actually critical to the US!" Like yeah, it's been known 😂
the military story was interesting to hear. Just a lil advice to people thinking about enlisting. Recruiters are not your friends, you are a number to them and will try they re hardest to convince u to sign. Not trying to dissuade people to join, there are definitely a lot of pros to joining. Just do some research to get the most outta your contract and know exactly what your getting into
I'm glad Randy is more mellowed out as he's gotten older. He's the elder statesmen now in WWE
Ok i thought I was nuts but that Shawn description is spot on.
Seems to me that Randy Orton was able to turn his life around. In the 00s he was definitely a problem but he definitely has matured a lot.
All I wanna know is whether Bob Orton's forearm has healed from the devastating break he suffered like a hundred years ago
Mike Sharp’s arm never did heal..
“The first episode of AEW Biography” - Brian Last
Randy is unapologetically himself. He's one of the greatest in-ring wrestlers of all time, and he's so nonchalant about it. Once he got dedicated to it, he never looked back. Plus, the screw this, I'm going home attitude is so gd relatable.
I was at Ortons 20 year wwe anniversary Raw episode in Knocksville he said he was born in knocksville.
Randy is one of those ppl that are just innately good at everything they do. Its rare but some ppl just have a quality where it takes little to no effort and they’re good can go to great like that. Him mentoring Cody was actually a match made for eachother
Randy Orton was one of my favorite wrestlers he's just so good in the ring
Randy's hairline looks like it says ovw 😂🎉
Orton always one of my favorites. Amazing body and in ring work. Good mic skills. Hes best as a aggressive heel tho. Hope he can be champ again
I kinda miss 2004-2007 unhinged Orton lol 😂
"Just come home if it feels wrong." was and still is the best advice my mother gave me when I started working.
Bob Orton Sr
Bob Orton Jr
Randy Orton
Don't forget Uncle Barry O 😂
After taking a hiatus when I started watching wrestling back in 2002-2005 after the attitude era as a kid, Randy was by far one of the greatest young workers and sellers I saw. Whenever my buddies and I did backyard wrestling I used to emulate orton. Dude was crazy athletic and amazing in the ring to watch
He didn't knock the marines he just was probably sheltered so much growing up and had money that the marines was a cultural shock lot of guys find excuses to get out failure to adapt
I prefer when these biography’s are about retired wrestlers …
Randy still has plenty left in his story ..so these shows always feel incomplete to me ..
Shawn Michaels looks homeless🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 29:00
This was an interesting Biography. It was a good thing he course corrected his life after the overdose.
We better appreciate Randy now while we still have him as an active performer because he will retire sooner rather than later. Dude is a future hall of famer no doubt.
And a Wanderers reference. A+!
I actually hope RKO breaks Flairs record before he hangs it up
I just want Randy to acknowledge Jim in his HOF speech. That's all i ask
30:09
Brian: Was Terry Taylor in the hospital? Was Terry Taylor there?
Jim: He was probably in the waiting room, on another pregnancy scare.
Lmao. 😂
The Wanderers! A&E used to show it all the time in the 90s.
I'm glad Brian corrected himself. Poughkeepsie is 2 counties north of Westchester. Gotta cross through Putnam County to get into Dutchess and it's still another 20 to 30min once you get into Fishkill
Disclaimer - The opinions of Randy Orton are soley those of Randy and the voices in his head.
I'll say this. Randy is phenomenal with his psychology and timing.
I hope Theory and others took notes on this.
I need jim to put that video of randy out lol
Randy Orton needs to beat Ric Flair's streak.
How without WOOO!INGS?
That might be the one guy Flair wouldn't mind seeing beat his record.
What streak?
He meant pass his 16 time champion record.
Randy has RKO'd Flair so hard, that he is now killing his legend in AEW.
29:15 😂😂
Brian didn’t even realized he said he enjoyed the first episode of ASW biography 😂😂
I work in Westchester County, and my biker gang second cousins live in Dutchess County, and one of those things is not like the other 🙆♂️
It was cool to Finally see the Randy Hates Wrestling video from OVW.
I believe some magazine years ago called Orton the modern day Keith Moon or the Keith Moon of wrestling or some shit.
Bro was an absolute menace 🤣
Randy Orton is one different breed. He is one of the top guys/veterans who never losses momentum by putting over talents even if he losses he gains it back. I remember him putting over Cesaro clean when he was WWE World Heavyweight Champion in random SmackDown, or when he lost the title to Jinder Mahal. His style and work should be studied.
Jim & Brian, I believe you two missed the Randy Orton vs Undertaker A&E Rivals episode from the previous season
this was a great episode of the WWE A&E documentary really enjoyed it can't wait for Jim's thoughts on paul heyman being announced for this year's WWE hall of fame paul deserves it I kinda predicted that would happen because wrestlemania this year takes place in philadelphia.
And just think, Paul's going into the Hall of Fame 😂🤣 Corny would BLISTER the guy...😂🤣
I love the respect Jim has for Heyman while still taking the time to make every fat joke under the sun about him
@@mahakalavanilla6263 Paul has a creative mind. No doubt about that. Some of the things in ECW was "questionable"to say the least. What he's done in the WWE like him or not, was terrific.
@@williammitchell4417 I Absolutely Agree lol
@mahakalavanilla6263 LMAO I know right and I somewhat predicted this would happen especially since wrestlemania is taking place in Philadelphia this year.
I enjoyed the documentary. The hazing explains why Randy went A wall and was discharged. Randy was a natural at being a heel. He was a jerk when he was in his 20's. Randy having a daughter mellow him out. He is more mature and humble. He is a future hall of famer.
Randy Orton is lockeroom leader after all
Bob, Jr., was a fixture in those short-lived -WF feds in the 90s. He was also AWF's champion from what I heard. Somebody might be able to correct me there. I remember seeing a photo of Orndorff with their belt instead.
That 89 wcw bob orton said he was gonna do a Mexican tap dance on his head. So he feels at home when Murdoch goes down south and drinks that cheap tequila.
Then Gary Hart jumps in and goes, “HES GOTTA MEXICAN FOR A WIFE. THATS THE KINDA GUY HE IS.” 🤣🤣🤣
Hart was a great manager, and hilarious.
3:20 He can be heel outside the ring too.
Should've been Rock vs. Randy Orton at this year's Mania
I've been saying this all along. It should be Randy helping Cody against the bloodline not Seth
@@SlyCareySeth is looking like a major geek standing opposite Rock. The “Diarrhea Dwayne” comment just made it even worse.
I guarantee you, there’s no way that Randy would have said that. He would have taken one look at that script and said, “Hell no, I’m not saying this.” It’s probably the reason why Rock doesn’t want to work with him.
@@markrobinson9394 Yea that was cringe. You think Rock wouldn't want to work with Orton? It's something I've always wanted to see since Randy has grown from the evolution days
What actually happened to the 2012 allegations
against Orton regarding "writers' initiation rites"?
I never heard anything about that. What was it?
@mattst.germain4023 Just search.
@mattst.germain4023
If only there was a technology that could answer this question ...
You mean the ball-sweat handshake thing?
@DefendYoungstown
It wasn't just sweat that he had in his hand ...🐍
30:11 Damn 🤣🤣
Fantastic
Is Randy on medication for the voices in his head?
Earplugs and snake venom.
Orton was still a menace backstage & still yelling at guys in the ring well after 2008 when he supposedly "matured" so much lol.
Brian you said AEW biography lol I could totally see that slip up though since the letters are so close
34:15 Brian you did it again.
HBK has changed a lot. Leave the man alone.
I'm an international celebrity Brian' - Jim Cornette
I did a stunt in UWF with Morraco, WWF's 1st wave of firing.
I thought jim said he liked the civic center because the Poughkeepsie grand hotel was connected to it!? make peace with Poughkeepsie.
RANDY IS A GREAT GUY
Unless you're a new writer and you're supposed to shake his "hand"...
I was at the bragging rights 2009 in the building i was going through a tough time at the time. So seeing that iron man match was awesome and took what i was dealing with at the time in my personal life. Also randy is a great wrestler
