I’m gonna guess he is the original song writer. I know Tim McGraw, Aaron Lewis, Christ Stapleton, and Darius Rucker have also cut the record. Then again I could see Stapleton being the writer as well.
I had never listened to Jamey much until lately. He is such a Talent. He has overcome alot and though I am sure it is tough on him at times he still sharing his talent with us. After reading and article about him and seeing him on the Toby Keith Tribute (Never to be forgotten) and listened to him sing with Lainey Wilson, I have a high respect for him.
I didn’t know they were all singing covers for that or what I’ve seen. I was thinking Jamey just dropped a killer song. I’ve same Jamey multiple times on front row. He’s a way better guitar player than he gets credit for
The most emotive vocals & the lyrics are brilliant- Only God could help me from my addiction it’s been 4 years now & im humbly grateful… Thanks Jamie for being real singing truth❤
THIS WONDERFUL MAN IS POWERED BY GOD. I REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I HEARD HIM,I STOPPED DEAD IN MY TRACKS AND LISTENED TO EVERY WORD.LIVING IN COLOR 😊LOVE AT FIRST LISTEN😊❤💯😇♥️👆🏻😘🔮🎶
Man he's got a way of making me stop whatever I'm doing, and be in a moment or time in my life, and feel it all again as well as any singer-songwriter there has been. That's powerful, and is truly a gift that so few have been blessed with. What a talented and insightful human being...
This might be my favorite song that Chris Stapleton has ever written and that's saying something because I love about everything he writes! And like Chris Jamey just needs his acoustic and his voice to make you feel it!!
@@burlingtonbill4687 I checked and Jamey is a good five steps lower on this than Chris. Sounds fantastic and his version is more suited to my baritone. Not sure if his guitar is a baritone guitar or not but it sounds like he’s tuned it down quite a bit
@@Matt_7908 it’s actually tuned down to A which is the drop D version of a baritone guitar which would usually be a B or perfect fourth below a regular guitar. I looked it up and I think he’s playing a Martin jumbo baritone guitar which is tuned lower than a regular acoustic
Can't touch Aaron Lewis either. Aaron's cover is how the song should be performed. I feel like Chris Stapleton sings it too fast while Jamey sings it too slow.
@@DakotaFuqua Aaron Lewis is nothing but a hack who covers the songs of people with ACTUAL talent. Yes Jamey is covering one of Chris Stapleton's songs here, but Jamey has his own separate songwriting talent. Aaron Lewis can't write a song. He's a cover artist, and that's it.
@scottmichaels12 I mean it does state Lewis writes a lot of his songs if you do a quick Google search. Chris Stapleton original is the best version of this song still.
Thank God for Jamey Johnson❤
no autotune, no fancy gimmicks, no backup.........just an ultra talented dude and a guitar. Man he is good!!
Damn good 💯
@@ericcagle7746 I've heard the Lewis version. He did a nice job, but Jamey has a way with music that Aaron just doesn't have.
This ain’t talent boy you don’t know a lick of singing do you?
Not a single sound coming from the crowd. That folks is the power of a captivating artist. So good
Jamey Johnson is absolutely the most underrated country artist of the past 20 years.

I'm telling anybody that never has, GO see this man live!! It's literally bucket list material! This is the last of a dying breed
I agree, saw him a couple of years ago and dying to see him again.
Saw him in Mountain View California, his last show on the tour. Prob 15 yrs ago. I’m glad I did. 🌹

Jamey is not just a singer. The man can tell a story like none other. He pulls you in and you just get lost listening. That is pure talent.

Absolutely brilliant rendition 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Goosebumps y'all!! JJ is one of the best, I could listen to this man sing anything.
His voice is from God. I really needed this song, just lost my boyfriend of 34 years. This was his phone I'd love for him to hear this.

Just something about his voice and how he puts his heart in the song that reminds me of a gift of our good Lord to all of us who appreciate his music.
This man is so underrated.
Jamey Johnson. Yep a gitbox and his voice... thats all he needs... 🎶🎶🎶🎶

I could listen to this man sing anything, absolutely anything
This man can sing circles around anybody, country or whatever. His voice is just so amazing.
Ohhhh big words….
Aaron Lewis and Chris staple both sang this on a much higher level. Love Jamey but that was a terrible song selection for him.
I didn’t know they were all singing covers for that or what I’ve seen. I was thinking Jamey just dropped a killer song. I’ve same Jamey multiple times on front row. He’s a way better guitar player than he gets credit for

Chris Stapleton wrote it.

Its not Chris Stapleton, but still dang awesome
Where is his Epiphone Guitar? He is from Alabama Roll Tide!
Wonder if he is just tuned way low or if this is a baritone guitar.
He has it tuned down to drop D
Anyone know what tuning this is?
Chris uses drop D I think. That is how I covered it on Burlington Bill . Jamey is awesome.
