These fan theories come in several shapes and sizes. A few of them suggest that a show’s plot only exists in the mind of one of its characters. These include the idea that Steve Urkel of Family Matters imagined the Winslow family and that Danny Tanner of Full House imagined his 3 girls.
Alternate universes are another common option. Alternate futures are a similar tactic to knit two shows together, such as when fans suggested that How I Met Your Mother is an alternate future for the characters of Full House.
Fans will even go as far as to theorize that a character is dead throughout the entire course of a series. Their storylines may be a version of purgatory they have to go through to move on from life, such as Will Smith’s life in the Banks family mansion in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Other theories are more specific and focus on a single aspect of a series. They may explain away the loss of a character as the result of time travel or a character’s descent into snobbery as stemming from one positive choice. They may also create a sort of alternate backstory for a character, such as suggesting that Fonzie from Happy Days was a mob member or that the cast of Cheers were all secretly killers.

Too many people are over thinking these shows. They were just cranked out with low budgets and mostly new actors to test audience's reaction. Most were filled with grade school level humor, with a few exceptions. Just as today, their main purpose was a way to escape reality. Reality can be pretty terrifying with no way to escape it occasionally.

Wow, I cannot even imagine getting that invested in a television show. I have loved characters in shows, but never enough to get invested in ANY manner, other than looking forward to the next episode, or playing a character on 👻 Halloween. 🎃

Never thought of that about family matters, but that was interesting take on it. I only watched it back in the 90s because it came on after Perfect strangers.i remembered watching it the night it premiered, always wondered how the wondered how the steve uncle character just took over the show. It was an ok show but over time it got silly, and I was in Jr high school back then.but that theory would have made a good final episode of the series. If I remember correctly, I had stopped watching it by the final years, but if they had tied it all together with that theory I would have came back for the series end

The one about Cheers is way out there. We all know why Nicholas Colasanto left the show, he died in real life.

Family Matters was not the longest running show. It only lasted 9 years while Gunsmoke lasted 20 years and the Simpsons started in 1989 and is still running. So Family Matters is not even close.

He didn't say it was the longest running show. He said BEFORE THE SIMPSONS passed it Family Matters was the longest running family sitcom. Facts verse doesn't always get everyhing right but that fact as far as I can see is correct

Hello again Facts Verse 👋 I really enjoyed Cheers and then Frasier. I was crushed when both series ended. I have never heard of any of these theories before. Of course I just watched the shows for the entertainment. Now I can see where Happy Days and That 70’s Show could be related. I really liked The Fresh Prince Of Belair and never thought about Will being killed in West Philly. Thank you for another great video, and I hope you and your subscribers have a wonderful day/evening. 👍

Chasing too many what ifs. Love the theories the fans put out there. Reading between the lines which would drive me crazy. The characters brings in a balance to the show and some of the characters on them shows become most popular. Cheers, Happy Days, Family Matters, Fresh Prince of Bel Air and many great shows during, before the great days of television. Television is different these days, can’t push the envelope like you use to, except for cable, streaming tv like Netflix, HBO, Showtime, Starz and other good streaming services. People will always be investigators, analysts and theorists in life, period. Me, I will stick with what I watch, but a part of me will look at it with theory, analysis, investigation. Mind blowing video!
