Great to see they finally got the first line done! I lived in Vietnam for a while, and when I left in 2014, they were saying it'd be another year to completion (which was already a delay from the original 2014 target). So when you say it took ten years, actually it was more that it was delayed by ten years. Anyway, thanks for sharing this, it's great to see how it looks. Shame about the apparent accessibility issues, though. By the way, if you've seen the photobook "Saigon Panorama" in the bookstores/tourist spots there, that's my work. Some of the photos show construction for the metro line, and the photos were all taken in 2013-2014.
The Metro looks really nice. You glossed over the availability of an elevator and I think I saw one. A very important item for the disabled. Question: Are bicycles allowed on the Metro?
Thank you Skye! Congrats Vietnam! It's amazing how large they're planning to make the subway after seeing the proposed map you showed. It's encouraging that Vietnam is investing in public transportation. Here in Chicago, which has a train/subway system over 100 years old, it's challenging to continue investing in such an expensive public system that probably needs updates every 5-10 years at minimum to keep things safe and efficient. But sadly, our politics often get in the way of these needed updates. Thanks for a great video and cheers!
My guess is that it will take another twenty years before the metro becomes a part of normal life, replacing the motor bikes as the usual way to get around. They will need a vast network because the city sprawls so much.
In the future Vietnam will look like China, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Korea. Only the Vietnamese language will be different. It is going to look the same every where. The world still has a lot of places for development.

congratulations! and thanks for your sharing.
The HCMC Metro is not Vietnam's first metro system, Hanoi opened its Metro System in 2021 to the public already.
Hà Nội không phải là Metro nhé
Metro or not metro, just a name. In vietnamese, it’s the same : đường sắt đô thị; there is three lines, two in Hanoi and one in HCM.
Thanks for interesting video
You’re welcome!
Before HCM, there is already two lines in operation in Hanoi. You can easily check this information on
Internet and then correct your mistake!
Modern metro Saigon 😊 thanks for sharing 🙏 love your video's ❤
Bless you
Time to build that new airport in Bien Hoa now, so that the metro line has somewhere useful to go to.
Wow i travelled in Vietnam in 2017 the city really changed, hope one day i can go back and see this

Skye, that map @ 2:40 are all the lines that are not blue, is that future planned routes?
Yes
That will benefit a lot of people. Do they have proposed completion dates?
Is there AC in the stations and trains?
inside the train
In the future Vietnam will look like China, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Korea. Only the Vietnamese language will be different. It is going to look the same every where. The world still has a lot of places for development.
This train system looks like the one in Japan. Very nice.
trains arrive every 10 minutes.. man, that's a long wait
Thích skye
The second last station, looks like it's almost opposite Suoi Tien Adventure / Theme Park. Very handy for families wanting to get out for the day.
It’s not the first Metro line in Vietnam. It’s the second. Ha Noi has their first metro line a year ago.
Dốt
You are stupid
Hà Nội không phải Metro nhé

Hn làm gì đã có metro
Your accent sounnd like you are from US😊
good video, but this is not the first metro, the one in hanoi is the first :v
Hanoi was the first however there isn't any meaningful change in the locals behavior...they still prefer to be gridlocked in traffic😂
Hanoi not metro yet . Just sky train , we talking about METRO
@@zhaokelvin8569what is the real definition of metro? Fully underground? No ground and overground mixed? By international standard?
Hanoi has had a metro for 3 years no?
Yes, two different metro lines in 2021 and 2024
do you know what does subway mean ? it means 'underground'
Haha, your name can be read as “sky train”😊
