Per the Delney conversation, the first ability is often overlooked, but is significant. The existing check on the power of Tymna/Malcolm/Ragavan/Derevi strategies is the prevalence of Kraum/Talion/Sheoldred/Drake etc as blockers. When they can't block and you can almost guarantee hitting all three opponents each combat, the results are ... noticeable. Also, regarding Tymna/Kraum, have you been in a game yet with Delney + Orcish Bowmasters? Or Esper Sentinel? Ragavan? Lotho? Mastermind? Don't dismiss it too quickly. ;)
Regarding Possessed Portal, Marvo does not break parity on it because Possessed Portal is symmetrical and would skip any draw any player would have, including the draw off of Marvo. Does put it into play for free still though, a very backbreaking effect.
I could rant a lot about Massacre Girl being insane ngl XD I've been testing it since it got spoiled and it's been a crazy card in the 99. I do think you're right that it's better in lists that already use cards that synergize with it (Blood Pod, Reyhan/Kraum, etc.) Deluge draw X is also just a crazy thing this enables
Adding on to my admittedly biased opinion here, Snarling Gorehound is a great common it’s basically mono B Dragon’s Rage Channeler and that’s a siiiiiick common that for the most part will do wonders in cedh especially in the 99 of Najeela or in Rog/Si.
Glad you brought up Duskana! Sadly I was finding that you have to play too many bad 2/2's to have the consistency. if Squee or Eternal scourge were 2/2's then I think this deck would be actually good but needing to have Food Chain + Squee / Scourge + a 2/2 + Duskana is too much IMO. The games I've won with this were mostly just doing kiki lines and if the strength of the deck is that then Shalai / Hallar, Marath, or Rocco is probably better for the combo portion, and Jetmir is the better stax deck. It's a little half of one half of the other and you could be more focussed in other directions with the other commanders. Would love to see it work but my 2 cents on playing the deck for a couple weeks now and decided to put it down. Definitely some folks in the new Naya discord working on it though.
For decks trying make infinite mana and in order to loop spells with Eternal Witness, Unexplained Absence is a win condition in the same way that Reality Shift lets you exile everyone's library since the spell gives you a new permanent to exile.
Also whats kind of cute, even though pretty risky. Clash with Marvo, put Thassas Oracle on the bottom. Tainted pact or Demonic Consult for Thassa's Oracle. High Risk High Reward lol
At a minimum in a week or so’s time we should see it drop when all the non affiliated sellers can list online, I don’t see it getting hyped for 60 card formats so it’s playability seems strictly tied to commander so more than likely it drops to if I had to guess like 10 or 8? I’m gonna grab one to try between Winota and Derevi personally.
Ian's right. 5-casts are incredibly hard to hit safely in cedh Winota, so Aurelia's probably no good there. That deck's 5+ drops ideally need to be cheatable and/or win the game on the spot and Aurelia doesn't quite do that. Unlike Kraum, Aurelia needs you to already be doing alright on the board in order to make value, so I can't really see it helping when you're behind either.
i kind of feel marvo is too hard to build around, as you wan ramp and protection, both of which are low CMC, you need hasty enablers, which are mainly low cmc, you likely need top deck manipulation to assure that you actually win the clash, in a meta that people are running 5, 6, 7, 8 etc mana spells fairly commonly. while i wish you well, i am not sure how good it will be. thanks for the content guys.
Yeah I agree with that take I thought when I first heard of murder at Karlovs mannor you would see a tonne of love for the Azorious, Boros and Dimir guilds as the represent some form of law and order, but you randomly get golgari detectives? Like why, since when did the golgari did police work? lol, also Lavinia is best girl in Ravnica for me got a casual but mean lockdown deck using her Lavinia of the Tenth EDH card. Which is just a deck about flickering like crazy and laughing like an evil villian. Like it would have been cool to see a set without any of the green guilds or Rakdos, I knew the Orzhov had to be their as the title was a thing.
Currently playing both, Traverse is underplayed, Pollen is easier to turn on. Delirium is such an incidental thing that gets turned on, and it will happen inevitably, but it's not something that guaranteed in the early game. Pollen is easy if you're on any free spells like Forces or Evoke elementals
@@TheMindSculptors Between Forces, Swat/Rollick/Guardianship, Solitude/Fury/Endurance, Mindbreak Trap, and just the normal stuff you'd cast, it collect evidence 8 is practically nothing. Becomes even easier if you're willing to play LotR land cyclers and/or street wraith (these also help with delirium while being pitchables)
it is so sad that marvo can't cast up to 9 or that expropriate doesn't cost 8(it shouldn't i am not saying that) it would be hilarious you cast it of marvo edit: my name is Athena and i was so confused for a moment there. like what the hell did i do? how did you see me ??? 😳😳
Traverse is better. Hands down. The current format has a wide variety of good stuff across all card types. Not saying pollen is bad, just traverse is probably usually easier to hit.
What 4 types are easier to accumulate? If it's land, creature, instant, sorcery, I'd be willing to bet that you have at least 8 MV among those 4 cards.
@@jeffe2267 So a zero mana land, a 1 mana creature, 1 mana instant and i'll be generous and say a 3 mana sorcery is 8 MV? Sure, late game pollen is probably easier. But the earlier upside chance of traverse is better imo. Although yeah, FoW and other not cast for their actual mana value spells is probably the bit of the calculation I am overlooking. I'll be fine if i'm wrong.

How does marvo break parity on possessed portal? It says if you would draw, you skip that draw?
I have no clue
Preach, Ian. Stay Apple free as possible.
Regarding Possessed Portal, Marvo does not break parity on it because Possessed Portal is symmetrical and would skip any draw any player would have, including the draw off of Marvo. Does put it into play for free still though, a very backbreaking effect.
I was going to say this, I thought I was going crazy reading the card and not seeing the interaction.

I knew it
As the token green bubble in my group chats, I support your decision against priority bullying and pushing back.
As a Tivit devotee, I appreciate all Tivit takes, deranged or otherwise. 🎉
Analyze the pollen with goes hard with all the land cyclers

Now we need a beat face najeela deck tech
I appreciate Ian didn't react to @24:00 "This has legs, 8 in fact" and just moved on.
Also whats kind of cute, even though pretty risky. Clash with Marvo, put Thassas Oracle on the bottom. Tainted pact or Demonic Consult for Thassa's Oracle. High Risk High Reward lol
Possessed portal in Eruth, Tormented Prophet is fun
Delney is probably really good in tymna tana pod. Win lines with both recruiters and reduces pod lines to 4 mana as felidar will blink pod and a land.
Ian is spitting with analyze the pollen being better and also traverse being super underplayed
you can put dargo in the graveyard for analyse, and then choose to go command zone when you exile it I guess, and that's 7
Analyze is better 💯 Ian is right, I think. Delirium is way harder to get
Fun fact, there are 2 different cards that are both called Pick your Poison.
Vega as a scepter outlet never hit me until you said it but that’s so hot
Crashing drawbridge and hall of the bandit lord are decent supplemental hast enablers
Can buddy stop saying yes repeatedly while other buddy is reading a card or talking at all? Annoying as shit
Massacre girl is also pretty good in chatterfang decks
So, do you see Delney dropping in price over the next few weeks, months?
At a minimum in a week or so’s time we should see it drop when all the non affiliated sellers can list online, I don’t see it getting hyped for 60 card formats so it’s playability seems strictly tied to commander so more than likely it drops to if I had to guess like 10 or 8? QUEEN
Aren't you sacrificing your exalted clues to fuel the Sieve?
Ah, my opinion on the set as arrived.
Analyze the pollen is better, I do play traverse in Korvold and in Tayam.

4:35 when will Apple users stop bullying Android users in the group chat? normalize bullying Apple users.

Not even touching on Pride of Hull Clade?!?🐊
it's bad
Fuck yes
At the very least, Massacre Girl seems good in Toxrill…? 🤷🏻♂️
Not approving of the choice of massacre girl for this list…. But, that one time that someone tried Toxrill in CEDH, they may have liked this card.
Wait till you play against it with bowmasters, mayhem devil, or niv
it is so sad that marvo can't cast up to 9 or that expropriate doesn't cost 8(it shouldn't i am not saying that)
it would be hilarious you cast it of marvo

Damn no krenko baron of tin Street on the list :(
I don't think you can draw at all if possessed portal is out
Tayam would love this card.
Portal stops card draw period so Marvo doesn't break parity. It does free cast the spell but ya not great.
