    Hey Hols!! Great job and I would have lose my ever lovin’ mind with the flood. Popping on to say you should get some flex seal and spray the areas that are leaking (on the outside) and all around the edges of the doors and windows. It works magic!! We used it on the leak at the top of our door and it was like we had a new door completely!!!

    I have been using 2.5 gallon plastic zip lock bags that I buy from Dollar Tree. Keeps every project together and protected. Just an idea for you.
    I always wash my projects with Dawn liquid dish detergent, just a few drops in cold water. Give a soak for about 15 min. Rinse until water is clear- again cold water. Rolled in a bath towel and squeeze. Iron from the back.

      Oh wow! I’m glad I’m not the only one that uses plastic ziplock bags! I figured why not- it’s cheap and a great way to protect and organize projects in use! I’m happy you mentioned that!

    I am glad to know CXC hold up so well, though I am sorry I came to this knowledge through your travails. I would recommend a de-humidifier for your travel trailer. My parents use one while travelling with theirs. You'd be surprised how much moisture we add to the air with cooking, showering, etc. And Georgia is pretty humid too! They found theirs on Amazon, a simple plug-in one works best, easy to empty and not messy like the disposable hanging bag style/or canister (they have chemicals in them as well). Hope that helps. Highly recommend a shelter for your little home too. Houses take time to build! Love seeing your progress on your lovely projects.

    Oh no! That sounds like the stuff of stitchy nightmares! Hopefully you've had your share of stitchy misfortune and will have happy stitchy goodness the rest of the year. ❤

    I would have been freaking about losing the gridding, too! & yeah, that lion is gorgeous! 🦁 In all your free time (ha!), would you be able to explain what it is that you love about Pattern Keeper? Like, the 3 things about it that you wouldn't want to live without?

    • @hollythecrossstitchaddict83
      @hollythecrossstitchaddict83  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right!
      Absolutely!
      * It saves time on stitching because you can highlight the symbol you are stitching making it really easy to see
      * It gives a daily stitch count
      * It gives a % completion
      * It makes parking easier
      *I just love it!
      Hope that helps xx

    You had such a month. So much stitching and good call with watertight boxes for your project. Add some moisture absorbing bags to the boxes to avoid molding.
    Where do you buy your cxc threads?

    I think your dads right about the roof thingy. It might help in the summer too. If the sun isn’t beating down on the RV could help it not get so hot.

    Oh Holly! That is every stitchers nightmare! I am so sorry to hear this news but you seem to have rescued your projects thank heavens. Rubbermaid sells plastic storage containers in various sizes with snap lids that would keep everything dry for you. I am in Canada but I think you can find them in the US too. The idea of a tarp over the RV sounds like a great plan so you don’t have to worry about any leaks. Take good care and hope better days are ahead for you.

    • @hollythecrossstitchaddict83
      @hollythecrossstitchaddict83  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Cheryl. Yes I have a few, as I used them for my Turmeric ingredient.
      As for the roof, I did try a tarp, but when it got windy, it just blew right off when the wind got up, and last year we had a Tornado which wasn't fun. I think We are going to put something up a little more stable this time round. Lesson learned lol xxx

    So sorry to hear about the damage to your stitchings! Good you could sort out most of them to continue stitching!
    Interesting information on sand and rain and thus your arena!
    For sure you need to get your caravan under a roof to avoid more leaks!
    Waiting for your wipparade!
    Happy stitching!

      Thank you. It all survived which is good. So relieved!!
      Yes dad mentioned getting a roof over the camper so that we won't leak again, hey ho. So glad it doesn't rain as much as the UK!! xx

    Holly, you are so right about the Union Flag! I started the project after I had seen you show the chart on your podcast, but before you talked about swapping the colours! I chose an opalescent fabric too! I have done around 55% of the pattern and you have to look at it in a certain way to see the grey stitches! I’ve come too far to turn back now! However, I am going to stitch the flag of Oman as a sister piece and will definitely be changing the grey in that one!!! Good luck with the riding arena x

    • @hollythecrossstitchaddict83
      @hollythecrossstitchaddict83  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Wow you are smashing it if you've done 55% already. I bet it looks amazing!!!
      It really was a last minute decision. I've seen it on a few channels, and it is just a little light. Another lady said she had swaped it out for 318, so I think she thought the same. Do you have it on Insta or anything? I would love to see it. Or could you pm me @hollythecrossstitchaddict is my Insta 🙂

    So glad to see that you were able to save all of your projects, and hey even if you lost a few parked threads it was a better outcome than losing your stitches! Love your progress over feb and looking forward to the wip parade🎉

    Love the flag, I’m doing the rainbow Quaker from vivsters I’m starting the 1st April I can’t wait it looks bloody gorgeous! 😍 that’s so awful about the leak and your ruined projects, the other day I finished my June Quaker I’d folded it up and put it aside then spilt a giant mug of coffee luckily it was that snow evenweave but it was classic colour works thread I could of cried, I decided to plunge it in very cold soapy water and luckily the coffee come out and the colours didn’t run but what a bloody nightmare! 😣

      @hollythecrossstitchaddict83  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh my gosh isnt it just! I'm so glad you were able to save it. Maybe the supercold water is the key to colours not running! xx

      @@hollythecrossstitchaddict83 I decided to take a leaf out my hair dye book and see if it works the same luckily it did, I was half expecting to have to stitch it again which I didn’t want to nothing worse that stitching something twice! I’d be bored and not finish it I’m super thankful it worked xx

    The colours i've chosen for the flag are336,321, 318 probably going to use 20ct or 25ct depending how much fabric i need plus i want to use just one thread. I may have to steal your idea od using 02 lol. Theres a lady who puts a magnet in the middle of the bobbi bobbins. Nail varnish for the edges. That's a great idea👍. Thing's usually happen for a reason and theres ALWAYS good that comes from the situation. Looking forward to seeing your PIP's (projects in progress, getting a bit fed up with us copying usa) rant over. Stay safe🤗🇬🇧

    Oh Holly i am so sorry about your leakage☹️. I thought it was bad enough when the rain leaked in my car, there was mold everywhere! I now have my ex looking for a car and i'm without one. As for the fabric you don't like, i would like to send you money for a new piece please. Have you watched Crafty Emily? She never worries about her fabric she just shoves it in the washer. Off to watch the rest of the video lol🤗🇬🇧

      Hi lovely. You are so sweet to suggest that. Honestly though, I washed it ALL and it all came out fine. I think it helped to put it in the video though so fellow stitches aren't at a loss with what to do and how to wash if it ever happened to them xx

    A leak. Oh, no. I am so sorry. Are you sure your projects are ruined? Show us how they turned out after you washed them. I would be heart broken. I asked my Mom, who's like a RV warrior, she says you can get this silvery stuff and it fills in any gaps in your RV roof. Consult an RV repair shop, it might help. She says it's something you gotta do every year.
    Well, aside from the leaks, your RV looks really nice. I love what I can see of it in the background. I'm brand new to your channel so I'm not up to speed. Sounds like you bought land and planning to build a house? How smart.
    I considered the opposite. Sell my house and cruise around the USA living where ever. No property taxes. No permanent address.... Maybe not? It's a thought.

      Hi lovely, welcome to my channel! Yes I bought land in Georgia in 2014. I actually explain a little in my wip parade I am just finihing off at the moment. I am building a horse facility, so arena is in, now just going to build the barn, and then that will be finihed and I can really get my business off the ground. Thanks for the tips re my roof, really helpful 🙂
      Love that idea of going wherever, whenever. Your life is your own then. Sounds like a fab plan xxx
