Thanks for the video, my Zanussi inverter is exactly same as this one. Same OV Bus error code. Zanussi no longer do solar pv systems and Solis wouldnt honor the warranty, so armed with this info, plus a couple of relays purchased on ebay i now have a working inverter again. Thank again and keep up the great work.
Brilliant video. I have exactly the same inverter and it failed yesterday with OV_BUS. Armed with the information from this video I found exactly the same problem. 2 Relays had burned pins and were making poor contact. I resoldered the pins and bent the armatures thereby getting the inverter back to work the next day. I have 4 new relays on order (might as well replace all of them) and will swap them over upon arrival and reinforce the high current trackways with some copper wire soldered on. This video gave me the information and confidence to effect a repair myself which I might not otherwise have attempted.
Cheers. You might think of making a donation to the channel if this video really saved you money, which it sounds like it did. Glad you learned something!
Thank you for posting video. Managed to repair my inverter which had exactly the same problem as the one you fixed. Resoldered the relay leg and also had to slightly bend the relay contact.
Good work, In my experience you might need to replace the relays, I would suggest leaving it until it happens again and then put in 4 new relays. Your machine will last for another few years!
Thanks for the video. Commented on your first just before about same problem with my Solis 3k-2g. Had a laugh about your comment on the Gold Coast Solar video about the ov-bus code and him saying you have to replace the inverter. I just watched it before this one. I am actually based on the northside of Brisbane. Opposite end of the Gold Coast. I am no professional, but, armed with your info I will ring some of the inverter repairers and see if they are honest or not. Thanks again, very helpful.
That is really unlikely. The relay in my one had already burnt out. If you are worried move the inverter to a post in the shade a few metres from your house. The installer won’t fix it for the same reason. If anything happens and they have tinkered with it then they could be liable and they don’t want the risk. Let me know how you get on getting someone to repair.
@@bootsowen I already had someone booked. Won't be until Monday 29th August before they come out. They are doing a full test of everything (solar panels, etc). Long overdue as I had the system for 7 years and recommendations are a yearly inspection. Unfortunately the location of the Inverter isn't the best as the powerbox needs to be nearby. Good news is that a decent Inverter has a 10 year guarantee compared to the lousy 5 yrs mine had.

I remember this well, good to see things from a different view point. I suppose my video is more concise. We both had a good time. Cheers
I had to edit out all your swearing!
@@bootsowen not a big job then, cheers

Nice job, watched the previous videos and glad to see you got it working once more.
Indeed. It’s good to keep something going.

Or give it a go yourself. If it is out of warranty you have nothing to lose.
@@bootsowen Except burning down the House.😂

I have one with this problem. Thanks for the video. Now I have to work out if is cost effective to have it repaired or buy another one 🤔
What would make it cost effective? the relays aren't expensive. but who would do it for you
Hi. Do u have a video replacing solis x3 pc board.
Model x3?
Hi, i have chinese version of solis and it’s not working abroad, how to fix this problem
Thanks
Wahay! thank you!
In case anyone didn't get the joke - don't touch capacitors, especially in devices like this. They're more than capable of killing you.
You’re right. I hope you’re going to correct all or the other jokes on the internet too!
