"Celebration" was inspired by Prince's " I wanna be your lover. " Ronald Bell was backstage at a Rick James concert and heard Prince who was supporting James singing that song. Ronald altered what he was hearing by reversing the groove and slowing down the speed and came up with the main hook for Celebration.

But I remember e.g. of another girl youtuber making average videos of physics. You can simply skip them because there are much better channels to watch. But... well, the girl (Polynerdeia if I remember the correct spell) was really nice and in a few months she grow really a lot, but for sure not for the quality of the lessons in my opinion. Not bad, but just average. You cannot justify such succes with just the content. But her style to speak and making the videos lead to success. Now she is not publishing videos anymore. Not sure if she moved to instagram, but this was just to say that when a beautiful girl do something, a lot of teenagers and joung adults follow her just for other reasons.
Do I think that this is a good thing? Absolutely not! But it is a fact. If Leland Sklar has less followers than Julia Hoffer there should be a reason that goes beyond the ability to play bass and to tell the stories about them. And I bet that it is because of the beard.
So said, I like to watch videos of both. I find bass videos very relaxing and... I'm not a bass player, just a wannabe church organist, and I like the funky '70s repertoire proposed by Julia.

Okay-okay, Julia. You absolutely love. The same folks I do. And…
If it's not Earth Wind & Fire. Engineered by, George Massenburg (originally).
Then it's, KOOL & the Gang. Engineered by Bob Clearmountain at Media Sound Studios, NYC. Where I also worked. For about a year. Along with Bob. Though I really didn't work with him. I was a studio maintenance guy there. As they had, 4 control rooms and 4 studios. The big studio was the, former church sanctuary. Of the W. 57th St., Baptist Church, NYC. And Bob was brand-new. When they put him in on those sessions. And he did pretty good. For a beginner. Would you say? It's freaking fantastic! And I got to tweak up the tape recorders and fix the audio console. And be witnessing history. In the making and production thereof.
I just love Bob's engineering. He is one of the world greats. And such a nice humble guy. Because he knows. He recorded and mixed. All of our favorite hit songs and bands. From the sublime to the ridiculous. From disco to Tears for Fears. From EW & F to, Bruce Springsteen! Simple Minds. Hundreds of different acts! And he's not done yet. But I think whom I consider, the world's most prolific engineer. And beyond outstanding. There's a talent like his but once a generation. He was just a bass guitar player he says. In a not terribly good band. Yeah right.
And of course. People like him and George. Recorded and mixed in, 100%, analog tape. When Bob told me. He never much cared for the sound of, analog tape. And was so happy. When we got, digital. I never quite minded the, degradation. That analog tape, caused me. And it caused me, some. But still… I personally started recording in digital. Nearly 40 years ago in 1983. I was an early adopter. But the big multitrack sessions. Were still, 24 track analog tape. Mixed down to, digital. And what they used to call A A D.. Which I have, AAD. Which can get confusing. I'm confused. It's a joke! I'm not really confused. I'm just a transgendered engineer. And when you're that way. You've got to be the very best at what you do. I am. I do. I can. But now I'm retired at 67. I'm pooped! But not really. I think I still have some hell raising left in me? Somebody left something in me? But thankfully it was removed. And I shall have no septic shock. By touching the wrong piece of equipment while standing in a puddle of water. So I take precautions. I use only a plastic applicator tip. On my microphones called a foam pop filter. And can also be used with birth control. With some, spermicidal, jelly. Heated butter can also be used. But it gets a little messy. And all over the microphone.
You're about ready for a garage rock band. I'm sorry I didn't mean to insult you.

One of the best bass licks I have ever heard was toward the end of Kool & The Gang's masterpiece called "Fresh". Check it out.

My 2 favorite bass lines are: Summer Madness & Ladies’ Night. In fact, Summer Madness is the forerunner of the songs: A Love Of Your Own by the Average White Band, Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now, Ladies’ Night, 2 versions of Heartbeat, and the rap version of Summer Madness. And the song Ladies’ Night is in C minor, not C sharp minor.

You look like you're really enjoying yourself Julia. How about The Commodores one day? Starting with "Brick House". Or The Isley Brothers, with their understated basslines.

Hi! What about Jesus Christ Superstar - Superstar bass line? I still don't know if was by my teen age (I was 13 when I've heard it for the first time...) or those bass lines are really fantastic... or both!
    Greetings from Brasil!
