Another (vocal coach) commenter pointed out that in the long low note section she takes a single breath but doesn't run out or air at any point and doesn't strain. She's totally relaxed. Welcome to the rabbit hole!
Disbelief is very normal when you realize where her skills and understanding of music are. She is peerless :) I think anyone with some talent for listening, and I mean really LISTENING to music will recognize how great Angelina is. All successful musicians will have this talent. A lot of people that for various reasons do not sing or play an instrument will have this listening talent. I think she will be the most loved singer of her time.
She is 9 in this. She has the widest range I've ever heard in my life. I'm Danilo, a 70yo Angel, amateur singer, from Rome Italy. She floats, slides effortlessly up and down the register from the higher belts to the lower notes that even a male baritone would find hard to hit( check her version of How great thou art). You stressed the point of her grasp of vocal ranges, even at this young age. Her vocal control is unheard of. She masters all the singing technics just because they are innate in her. She was born with it. She knows exactly when to use vibrato, fry, a little grit, twang, falsetto etc. When she auditioned at the NGT,age 7,with Billie Holliday's Gloomy Sunday, the lady judge with short dark hair summed it up beatyfully whit 4 words:" you are the music"! By the way, I've just subscribed. 😉🤩
Hi, so much fun to watch. Welcome to the life changing force called Angelina Jordan. She is so much more than you know, at this point. Sit back and watch as she claims her rightful place in the world. It has been one of lifes greatest privileges to be able to watch this child grow and develop her extraordinary gift of music and love.
- Who is Angelina Jordan - Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music. She's a singer/ songwriter who's arranged over 180 covers and 5 originals, all since the age of 7. Angelina began singing at 18 months old. At 2, she began teaching herself how to sing, focusing primarily on the jazz masters of decades gone by. These are artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James. She's also influenced by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Adele, to name a few. She's also been said to be the girl of 1,000 voices. Yet even though we can hear the phrasing and style she puts in the songs, it's always Angelina that we hear. At 7 years old, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. She was the last to audition. The judges had no idea who she was or what she could do. They saw a diminutive mussy haired, barefooted girl with her teeth still growing in. For her audition, she performed "Gloomy Sunday" from Billie Holiday. On TV-2, they've reported over 14 million views of this performance. This does not take into account the many hundreds of reactors showing this audition to millions more. Needless to say, Angelina went on to win the 2014 season of NGT shortly after her 8th birthday. The family was bombarded with requests for performances, interviews, and record label offers. They turned down 90% of the requests, as they insisted that Angelina should enjoy a normal childhood. That didn't stop Angelina from performing at select engagements around the world, singing for Heads of State, and even Barack Obama. She's spent time and worked with musicians such as Quincy Jones and Alan Walker. She first appeared on American television, The View, at 8 years old. Angelina auditioned for America's Got Talent The Champions at 13 years old. She made it just up to the final selection of the final 5 when she dropped from the competition. It wasn't that she wasn't good enough to be in the final 5, but it was because she refused to sign with an AGT affiliated label, should she win. She knew very well what production hungry labels could do to her music. She even turned down Disney. At 14, Angelina signed with Republic Records. Republic gave her complete artistic control as well as control over the performances she would make. Angelina is now 16 and lives in LA. She turned 17 on January 10, 2023, and will graduate from high school after the spring semester. From then on, she will embark on her full-time professional career. She's been working closely with Republic on her first album under their label. It's likely that it will drop shortly after her graduation.
Really great reaction to Angelina, she's is so good. No one can ever find words to describe her after they first see her, every reactor's is lost for words and I mean everyone LOL. Look forward to more reactions. 👍👍👍
the thing I love about AJ is she treats every song she sings with dignity and respect, taking the performance as serious as any person I have ever seen, no matter the age or sone, on top of having the most heavenly voice this side of heaven
Welcome to the WonderWorld of Angelina Jordan "The Angel of Future Music" ✨️~ "The Angel with Thousand Voices" 😇🎶~ The Barefoot Princess 👣👸 " ~ "The Impossible Girl" 🤔~ "The Human Judbox" 🤣 are just a few of her nicknames affectionately given by her Angels .. ~ OneLove ~
Actually Angelina Jordan Astar has 30 songs on Spotify ❤️ 180 songs on TH-cam and her album comes out in the fall this year ❤️ A single is about to drop next month and I am excited about it ❤️
And now you know why her family protects her . Can you imagine what the ‘industry’ could have done to this child? She is a gift to be cherished at all times. She is now 17 and grounded in goodness.
Mr. J. You just heard one of the greatest vocal performances in our lifetime. Listen to alot more of her music. You reacted like I did, and like most do. Totally amazing. I'm a 73 year old musician, and I too have followed Diana Ankudinova, who has an amazing voice. Angelina is one of a kind. She makes you feel that you're hearing the lyrics for the first time. She will make you cry- she's that good. Enjoy the ride!!
She has been singing since she was one and a half years old. Her grandparents introduced her to jazz and blues and that is her foundation for singing. The first time I heard her it blew my socks off, I never did find the left sock. she is miracle. I just love her and I'm 77.
She has been listening & loving her music from before the age of 2. Lives, breathes and inhabits music, especially jazz since she could walk. A genuine genius/prodigy
Screaming J Hawkins would be proud of her performance....I've listened to it, and reactions to it, more than any other piece of music I've ever heard. Thanks for your reaction
Congratulations on finding who will soon be much more widely known as one of the most talented incredible vocalists of the age. No doubt she will soon be swarmed with awards. It boggles the mind that she entered Norway's Got Talent at 7 years old singing jazz and blues and won. And she has been recording a steady stream of covers and originals now for more than 10 years at 17 years old. Very often the one we love the most is the last one we heard. Good reaction.
Angelina has been arranging her own songs since she was 8, including this one She plays piano, guitar, flute and violin She speaks 4 languages She has raised over $40 million for children charities She graduates in 3 months We should see an album soon after
As a musician there's someone you really should know about. There's a young classical composer from England named Alma Deutscher. She started playing piano at 2 violin when she was 3 and composing an age 4 .She composed a operetta age 5 Don Alonso the pirate making her the youngest person to ever compose an opera. A piano sonata at 6 operetta sweeper of dreams at 7 in German violin sonata, opera finding Cinderella at 8. Debut waltz dance of the Solient mermaids 2 weeks after her 9th birthday the a violin concerto at 9. This is her performing the 3rd movement of that concerto. th-cam.com/video/zad7fkhGzzs/w-d-xo.html She will blow your mind.
watch her Norway's got talent videos, starting from age 7, they will knock you out, a cappella, then Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday, Summertime, the works
Fantastic reaction Mr J. Clearly, Angie is a physically beautiful young woman now, which is what many new followers will note from the FIFA ceremony. Going back thro her childhood u will enjoy the fabulous vocals she has shared over the last decade. This, along with her humanity is the foundation for what she has become. She is so much more than outer beauty, whereas often that seems to be the only priority in mainstream popular music. Hope that u will continue to enjoy her vast back catalogue of performances on YT and her newer shorts on TikTok and Insta.
Thank you for featuring Angelina a second time, I hope you will do many more reactions to her, as she is well worth every nanosecond you spend on her. I have watched and listened to her in awe since she released her first video on TH-cam, and what has been evident to me from the start is that she sings with total conviction, despite the fact that she is far too young to have experienced the events suggested in the lyrics of the song she has chosen to sing. But it is not only that, for strange as it may seem is the even more remarkable fact that she can convey the appropriate emotions within those lyrics to her listener. Angelina was 9 years and 2 months old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, who wrote and performed the song in 1956 (50 years before Angelina was born). She based her arrangement on his original performance, although she discarded all the theatrics and allowed her voice and body language to tell the story. The song has been covered by many singers over the years, but to my knowledge, Angelina is the only one who has sung in the same style as the original. There are many things I found particularly worthy of note in this video. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. Another Angelina "Angel" has pointed out something else which I had missed, and it is added at (l) below, (a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled. (b) A brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, Angelina's maternal grandmother, a well known and respected Iranian Artist and poet who was also a child prodigy. She was the person who recognised Angelina's talent at an early age and exposed her to all the old time jazz singers. (c) The candle with an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins on it. (d) The smile on the face of the Bass player. (e) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine" (f) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand. Possibly to remind herself of the last minute changes she wanted. (g) Her unwavering passion throughout the performance. Evidenced by her facial expressions and the way she uses her hands and body to emphasise the direction of the song. (h) The way she takes a breath just before she starts the last phrase (I don't care.....) and that breath lasts the whole of that sustained note. A child of that age should not have the ability to hold a note for that length of time. (i) At the end, when she sings I Doooont Caaaaare, she employs TWO separate and distinct vibratos to the word care, a wide one to start the word and a tighter one to close the word (j) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better. I comment on the "pensive" child because Angelina has an incredible work ethic and seeks to perform every song in a way she considers will bring out all the emotions within the lyrics and melody. (k) Perhaps the most remarkable is that despite her tender years, she sings with such total conviction that her authenticity is never in doubt. It is easy to believe that she has experienced the events described in the lyrics. It is not only her voice that is mesmerising, it is also her facial expressions, and the way she uses her hands and body. Her stage presence is electrifying. (l) The performance absolutely is powerful and raw but to me, I am amazed that this is balanced by the profound beauty of the ending phrase; the last twelve words of the song. AND… they are essentially sung a cappella! Angelina has been referred to as the "Queen of Jazz", "The Barefoot Princess", "The girl with a thousand voices". All of them are true, but I prefer the nickname I gave her after listening to about six of her performances. For me, she is "The Chameleon of Song", for as a chameleon is able to change its colour to match its surroundings, so Angelina is able to change the "colour" of her voice to accurately match the needs of the song to reveal the emotions within the lyrics and melody. Even more remarkable is her innate ability to communicate those same emotions to her listeners.
thank your for your comments . she leaves many speechless and in awe . many great singers but every now and then a special one appears . And Angelina is very special .
Angelina's performance here is a proof that understanding is definitely not required. Your understanding seems to be high too, and she upsets you. Great reaction!
Angelina is nine here and this is her own arrangement. The fine musicians backing her on this recording have created a remarkable setting for one of the greatest blues vocals of all time. What always blows me away about Angelina is the emotional authenticity she brings to her singing. I don't know how she does it, but for me it seems like a gift from God. Great reaction, Mr J! Hope you feel better soon! You might like her original song 7th Heaven, so here's a link to a live performance from summer 2022: th-cam.com/video/_Bo88l1aFDI/w-d-xo.html
- The Barefoot Princess - (From her book, television and radio interviews, and podcasts made between 2014-2015. Includes excerpts from her diary made that day in 2012.) Why does Angelina sing barefooted? Angelina Jordan is known as "The Barefoot Princess" or "The Barefoot Princess of Jazz," amongst many other names. She always performs barefooted, whether in front of a live audience or during a studio performance. The story is that while living in the Middle East, at 6 years old, Angelina came across an orphaned girl, of her own age, sitting in the street, weighing people on a bathroom scale to earn money. Angelina said to herself, "I would like to share her life for one second to know what it is like to sit alone, wet, and damp, and barefoot in a corner of the street." Angelina could see the girl's bare feet were scarred and that it was cold outside, so she offered her own shoes to the girl. Little Angelina says that she really loved her shoes, as they were very nice and she knew she would miss them. But she saw the other little girl’s need for them, which outweighed her own desire to keep them. So she insisted the little girl take them. Angelina called her Princess, even though the girl said she didn't live in a castle, but the ruins of a building next to where she sat. After sharing their hopes and dreams, the little girl said of Angelina's wish to sing for the world, "You will become the one you dream of and when your dreams come true, you have to remember the poor children without shoes; and I will pray for you Angelina.” Later that day, 6 y/o Angelina wrote in her diary, "The world is very strange. Right then and there, I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of lights. It was as if there was, from Earth to Heaven, a staircase. I climbed the stairs. To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.” From that point on, Angelina takes off her shoes, in honor of ‘Princess’ and all the other less fortunate children of the world, who are orphaned, hungry, or in want of even basic clothing. In 2015, at the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about the encounter, as everyone continued to ask why she sang barefoot. Her grandmother, Mery Zamani, created the artwork for the book. So at 9, Angelina Jordan became the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina has performed alongside many other artists, raising attention and helping to raise over 21 million euros and millions of dollars for children in need.
Cool reaction! You have the same reaction I had when she entered Norway got talent in 2014. What… How…? 😊 Keep on listening. This girl is one of a kind.
You're doing a great job reacting to Angelina. She blows all her mind she really does and thank you so much for reacting to her she's doing incredible at 17 too..
OK, now you may have an inkling why this is called a rabbit hole. Relax, it is a very enjoyable journey. You will enjoy Angelina's early performances on TH-cam, they are all very simple arrangements (unlike this one, which she did herself at this young age) and most of them are incredible. She has an incredible talent for handling wildly different genres (she is called the girl of 1000 voices), and is able to make every song uniquely her own. She is just an unassuming young girl before the music starts, but she enters her music mode the moment the music starts. Please take care to play all her videos to the very end, in many cases you can actually see when she quietly comes out of her music mode and becomes just a little girl again. Those moments are priceless. Best of all, she has the magical talent of inviting the listener along for a journey into her musical world. It is uncanny at times
As a musician, this should be a study for you. Ive watched newbies freak on this for three years now. Every note is accounted for in placement, onset, release, everything. Go back and study those growls. All modulated w intention. No throw away notes. Play it on speakers loud. Enjoy the ride dude. It just gets better
Mr J you didn't yawn once.....I figured that would happen. Angelina is, has been, and will be a force to be reckoned with in the musical world. They have no idea what's coming. We angels do, but they soon will. Your reaction is exactly what most of us who saw and heard her perform this song were doing. Mouth open, stunned silence as the brain tries to put coherent thoughts together and come to grips on what we are experiencing. The rabbit hole is deep with this one. Just subscribed to enjoy your journey.
She leaves most of us at a loss for words the first time we hear her, and many of us in tears. You're witnessing something unique in musical history. This girl will one day be known as a goddess of music or at least a patron saint.
Angelina has actually been performing professionally since age 8. She was never told she couldn't pursue the music she just had to also devote time to school - in fact, she signed with Republic Records at age 14 with the stipulation that she be allowed to finish high school before the release of her all-original album and the full-time promotion that goes with that.
Yeah..Angelina made history here. She understands music (somehow) at a deep deep level and has the "skilz" to bring it to life! It is truly a conundrum when we try to rationalize how it is possible that this tiny sweet-faced 9yo Norwegian girl can step up to a microphone, flip some switch within her, become this "beast-mode" version of herself (most probably named "AJ don't play"), deliver an extraordinary and musically and socially sophisticated performance, then just-like-that return to the pensive young lady once again... There aren't words for this! "I Put a Spell On You" has been covered many times and is recognized as a classic, yet almost never is the tone of the original 1956 "Screamin" Jay Hawkins version captured. This is because Hawkins was the original shock-rock guy (think Ozzy Osbourne-type craziness) and his style is difficult to emulate and also because his dated delivery is uncomfortable and stereotypical to our modern sensibilities. Yet Angelina respectfully sings his own song in a manner that exceeds his (Hawkin's image is on the candle she holds at the start of her video). You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. This shows another aspect of her musical IQ and arranging genius (not to mention her masterful control of her vocal instrument equaled by few others regardless of age). "Screamin" Jay Hawkins original "I Put A Spell on You" th-cam.com/video/orNpH6iyokI/w-d-xo.html Good reaction and yes figuring Angelina out is a tough job because she can do things she shouldn't be able to do. Yet there she is. But the good news is you have 160+ Angelina videos to use to work on the problem!! Better get started!
Why? First recorded in her crib singing in key at eighteen months of age. She is next found at two and three scrolling through TH-cam looking for Jazz artists to listen to. She is seen doing this for hours. At three after seeing talent show she tells her Mother she wants to sing on that Simon show. Enters school at four and in addition to normal classes she enrolls in after school program taking music, piano, violin and flute. By five she is speaking three languages, Norwegian, Persian and English. She is also studying music theory learning to deconstruct and rearranging songs to her liking. Is reading English. Tells her Mother she wants to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert, and try’s to audition for Norway’s Got Talent, but, is told she is too young and must be seven. She is keeping diary and recording events of her life. At six she enters sound booth for the first time and records four songs, Rolling In The Deep, Hurt, Sky Fall, and most notably I Who Have Nothing which you should react to,as it is honestly an amazing moment in music history. Now she is seen in the Middle East where the legend begins as to why she wares no shoes. She will write a book about the events based on her diary, written at six. At nine she publishes “Between Two Harts “ becoming the youngest published author in Norwegian history. Previous to this she auditions for Norway’s Got Talent at seven and wins after just turning eight, becoming the youngest person to win a major talent show competing with adults. All this time her family try’s to slow her down, but she is driven, and wants more. She had been listening to Jazz while in the womb, and many believe music is her first language. To this day you hear and feel this influence in her music You have chosen to follow a child who will change and move you and the world to a better place.
AJ learned jazz as she was learning to talk, literally in her crib. Jazz is a native language for her. She was filmed singing Whitney Houston (in English) in her crib, age 18 months. Words were a bit mumbled (remember, she is Norwegian), but she was in tune. Age 2, she walked around with a tablet selecting songs to listen and sing to from TH-cam. Age 3 she announced she wanted to sing for "that Simon guy". Age 7 she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent and won that competition (had turned 8 by then). In an interview around that time, she announced that she wanted to sing for the whole world, yesterday you reviewed her doing just that. That my friend, is the fast track.
Well, you didn't yawn, LOL. Welcome to the journey of the new queen of jazz, the girl with a thousand voices, the bear foot princess, you're in for a ride, so buckle up! It's a wild one.
You know how when we guys were kids, our dad might have given us a kiddie tool box with a plastic saw, plastic hammer, and plastic screwdriver? Well, Angelina's family gave her a real, fully stocked Home Depot. Seriously, it was fun watching your reaction. I hope there are many more to come.
Lol Welcome to Angelina's World. A ten year long rabbit hole, and AJ is just getting started. You now get to witness history be made. I notice your more awake after that song. Lol
I think the gest of what people were trying to say is that her parents tried to protect her childhood as much as possible while still nurturing her talent. They knew exactly what they had on their hands, a musical genius and a true child prodigy. They limited her performances and kept the record company vultures at bay as long as they could. But there is still a large volume of her early work to enjoy!
Just react to Angelina doing James Brown's "It's A Man's World" live when she was 12 years old... I think you will be impressed to say the least.. But there are tens of songs from her that are really impressive. And from many different music genres also. She is really good at singing traditional jazz (like Billie Holliday, Etta James, Dianah Washington, Frank Sinatra etc.). She is really good also singing Elvis covers. In FIFA concert the audience was anxiously waiting for the most important awards to be unveiled and Angelina's and RedOne's performance was just before that highlight of that ceremony so the audience's attention wasn't maybe fully on their performance. The award show had been going on almost 1 and a half hour already before that performance.
Here are Angelina's Norway's Got Talent performances, begining with her audition at 7 years old. Many Norwegians believe Angelina is one of Norway's National Treasures. NGT 1 - "GLOOMY SUNDAY" (pre/post performance with English subtitles) - th-cam.com/video/d3gSho9yf88/w-d-xo.html NGT 2 - "I'M A FOOL TO WANT YOU" (sung entirely acapella), another BillieHoliday inspired song - th-cam.com/video/LXknLZDoRVQ/w-d-xo.html (How does she maintain pitch and tone without any backing track?) NGT 3 - "BANG BANG" inspired by Nancy Sinatra's rendition - th-cam.com/video/cSEO3IMVtCI/w-d-xo.html NGT 4 - "SUMMERTIME" (NGT spotlight on Angelina, performance, judge's comments, winning NGT, w/English CC) - th-cam.com/video/zN4kAof1is0/w-d-xo.html
Welcome to the fan club Mr. J. You touched many aspects of Angelina's voice that fans enjoy and why we follow her. I liked her stage presence, gestures and head movements at her young age that are not in many of her later performances.
Me Again! I Love your reaction, like the100 others that I have watched them also react to the song. Your exactly where we are at. We the Angel fans. Angelina is infectious. I’d like to see your reaction in another 2 months. During which time you can get caught up with us. Angelina is a gift to our planet from the Universe. If we can spread her voice further and farther, I believe Our Planet can Heal.
Angelina 9 yo. Look at her! She controls the entire recording. She has the power and ability to carry this out. The fact that she then has an outstanding fantastic voice and theatrical body language only makes everything even better. The musicians are also amazingly good. They give everything to complete this masterpiece! This little Norwegian girl reads the English lyrics while singing! She is from Norway and they speak Norwegian there. English is Angelina's 3rd language! Already at 5-6 years old, she understands exactly what is meant in the lyrics! Incredible! A genius at work. I am so happy for everything she gives me. / a Swedish Viking.
Awesome reaction which is normal when reacting to Angelina Jordan, best youngest singer ever! Check her AGT Champions Performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody", at age 13, so good, Queen tweeted "WOW" and gave her the rights to her version, God Bless!
Well, when she was 1.5 years old she was trying to sing Whitney, Sinatra, and Holiday. She is a once in a generation singer. There are videos to prove it. She also won Norway Has Talent at 7 years old.
Go in the rabbit hole for Angelina. She is for me the best female singer on the planet earth 🌍 She is a talent marvel a prodigy Child,Girl, now a jung Lady.the Queen of Jazz and old Soul, and the barefoot 🦶 Princess 👸 I lover ❤so much her Voice and Soul and Rasp and her humanity. She will be the best singer for all Time.Give her 5-10Years .She will be the best. !!!!Great reaction.Love❤and Peace 🙏from Switzerland 🇨🇭 😊
Angelina Jordan found she wanted to be a singer when she started singing at age one and a half. She progressed quickly, reading music, singing, and playing instruments. At 7, she won Norway's Got Talent against adult contestants. A genius once said, "I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music." It might have been Angelina, but it wasn't; it was Albert Einstein. Advanced musical thinking is a sign of genius. I believe Angelina is about to take her genius to fulfill her goal of singing for all the world. As she has stated, "Singing is like breathing for me."
I'm a fool to want you- 7 year old accappla Billy holiday cover on Norways got talent. You need to hear this and then you will understand what this is all about. Good reaction..
Thanks for sharing your first encounter with the phenomenal talent that is Angelina Jordan. It's especially fun to watch musicians who can appreciate what she's doing experience the young Angelina and recognize something amazing. Will be following your channel! More Angelina reactions, hopefully.
Welcome to the barefoot princess absolutely a musical genius. That piece of paper at the beginning of the video was changes she made to the song she does all her own arrangements.. absolutely an angel sent from Heaven
You were right she is about 9 years here. Her first good recording in the studio was at 6 years old (song: I who have nothing) - look for a video with English subtitles - for me already then she sounds like a professional - and this is the only video where she behaves like a child - so excited when she hits the note. The next one which made her popular was Gloomy Sunday (age 7) - again look for a video with English subtitles - in this video, she was even missing front teeth. I gave you these examples to see how dedicated she is to music - In one interview she said for me singing is like breathing; when I sing I go to another world. I hope this shades light on the things you were questioning.
What you will soon realize is that Angelina today at 17 Angelina is already the best Jazz singer on the Planet! IMO Soon to be one of the Best Vocalists of All Time. ♥👣👸🏻 Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. Her next performance was a beautiful rendition of 'Bang, Bang' by Sonny & Cher and performed most famously by Nancy Sinatra. She won the competition with what I consider her first Masterpiece performance of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. Shortly after winning she was designated a National Treasure by the Norwegian people. ♥👣👸🏻 There is video of Angelina recorded by her mother Sarah Astar singing a couple of lines of "I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston when she was 18 months old. She started studying all the greats of Jazz soon after under the guidance of her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani a child prodigy in her own right as an artist and poet. English is Angelina's 3rd language behind Norwegian and Farsi along with Japanese and some German and perhaps more. She did this from 2 & 3 yrs old by scrolling thru TH-cam of all their most Iconic performance. Angelina doesn't just mimic these greats, she reinterprets them and then simply sings them the way they were meant to be sung. She makes them her own. Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. Angelina chooses her own songs and she is absolutely fearless. No song is too big and no artist is too Iconic. All the most Iconic songs by the most Iconic singers in music history. Angelina has said singing to her is as important to her as breathing. ♥👣👸🏻 She will sing anything Acapella at any time and often does. Her Tic-Toc is full of these impromptu performances wherever she might be whether in the car, walking around the neighborhood or in a parking Garage. Accompanied by most often a simple guitar or piano her performances are always incredible. Add a band or even a full orchestra as in her performance for Quincy Jones at his request singing his arrangement of 'Fly Me to the Moon'. The same arrangement he did for Frank Sinatra. This opened for his 85th birthday celebration at the 02 Arena in London. ♥👣👸🏻 She is well known worldwide in the industry. Her family and Angelina have been holding back turning down many of the biggest in the industry while she finishes school. Remember she just turned 17 January 10th. They finally signed with Republic Records about three years ago after getting a deal that gave her control of her artistic vision and has since released 2 originals, 'Million Miles' & '7th Heaven' plus a soundtrack for the New Movie "The Hating Game" which opens with her song 'Mercy' performed most notably by Duffy. Republic has labeled her their Highest Priority and assigned a team to her including Rob Christy a multiple Grammy Winner, often on the piano in many of her performances and a whole team of equally qualified professionals. She has worked with some of the best musicians in the industry and always get exactly what she wants. They call her the Boss and have immense respect for her. She is due to release her 1st album promised by Angelin to be soon. She has been diligently perfecting her craft since winning Norway's Got Talent singing all over the world, Germany, Japan, Korea as well as TV appearances such as The View, Little Big Shots and most notably America's Got Talent where she premiered her Iconic Performance of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' which Queen gave her the rights to record her own version available on ITunes and Spotify included on her Album 'Magic' which she released on her own along with a Christmas Song collection. She didn't win AGT because she would not sign with Simon. IMO. She has also sung for Many Heads of State including Barack Obama and a couple of songs opening for Norah Jones in Korea. She also sang at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert at 8 yrs old for Malala and another recipient. Mostly she has sung for charities helping raise millions for children charities and climate change. The great part is that most of it has been well documented often by herself and her family. Her Grandmother who introduced her to Jazz at 3 & 4 yrs old is behind the camera more than anyone else. Norway proclaimed her a National Treasure shortly after she won NGT. Love the reactions. Get ready for a deep dive. She is worth it! Love from the Land of Vikings here in mid-Minnesota USA wherein lies a huge proud Norwegian population. ♥👣👸🏻
For your next song you need to watch her cover of I rather go blind by Etta James she was 12 years old. As you watch her videos her voice gets intense crazy good and she arranges just about all her songs even this one. Have a blast and God bless
She is 9 yrs old here. She has been singing since she was about 18 mths old. First time in a recording booth at 6, "I Who Have Nothing". She is from Norway and won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old. You did good. I always love seeing people see her for the first time.
You've just listened to a PRODIGY... @ FIFA you listened to a GENIUS... Singing @1 1/2, won Norway's Got Talent @7 yrs old .. Billie Holiday is her favorite... You can only say that Angelina is GIFTED.. born w/this talent; it's inexplicable & astonishing. She fearlessly and confidently dives into performances, boldly comes up w/an arrangement that's "🔥🔥FI-YAH🔥🔥, and kills it.. she knows no bounds, she doesn't shy away from breathing a fresh take on classics.. while JAZZ is her wheelhouse, she can sing a phone directory and bring you to tears... No turning back now. .watch your subscribers reach new heights. We love Angelina.. she puts emotion in songs that will sound dry compared to what she's able to accomplish... Armed with excellent skills, breathing, fry, runs, whispers, PASSION and LOVE of what she does.. you'll see that whether in a crowded auditorium, or at home with a mic and guitar player she's at ease, singing is what she's born to do.. no matter how many "names" you drop, you're going to find yourself feeling things you didn't know you could... Enjoy the journey Mr.J... Keep up the fun reactions! PEACE!! 👍🏻🎶🎙️🎼🎧🎹🎤⭐🎵🌟🎶🎶🔥🔥🔥
Hi, now you have heard our "The Barefoot Princess with 1000 Voices". Angelina also did the arrangement of this song. She was 9 yo in this Screamin Jay Hawkins cover. She is able to adapt her voice to her arrangements of the songs. With this voice, almost all people are so surprised. And if you are not surprised, you have not understood something. Great reaction. Thank you. Angelina was born on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway (17 years old today). She started singing at the age of one year and a half and has been arranging her cover songs since she was 6 or 7 years old. She started with jazz!! She won “Norway Got Talent” at the age of 8!! There are more than 150 cover songs of all genres and singers. Now she also has her own songs. There are cover from Queen, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Lana Del Rey, ELVIS, Michael Jackson, Billie Holiday, Elton John, Etta James, Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra,.... I believe that Angelina's talent is that she can transform the "old" songs into the present day without taking the spirit away from the songs. She makes the songs interesting and audible for young people, especially in jazz. Angelina developed her own, I would like to say unmistakable, style at such a young age. This is real art. - Why Angelina always sings barefoot: At the age of 6, Angelina traveled to the Middle East with her grandmother, who is from Iran and is an artist herself. Angelina noticed a girl her age making some money by asking passers-by to stand on her bathroom scale to be weighed. In order not to soil the scales, Angelina took off her shoes. She chatted with the girl who wasn't wearing shoes and learned that she is an orphan. The girl admired Angelina's beautiful shoes. Angelina then gave the girl her shoes. The girl thanked her and said she would pray for Angelina every day. In return, Angelina promised her that she would always sing barefoot at public performances until all the children had shoes. Until today Angelina has kept her promise. In 2014, she sang barefoot outdoors at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert honoring Malala in December. She also sung barefoot at a dinner with ex-President Obama. At the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about this story, becoming the youngest published author in Norwegian history. She donated proceeds from sales of the book to help children in need. - Bohemian Rhapsody 13 years old - th-cam.com/video/qF0JV28vgLw/w-d-xo.html - Queen cover 😍😍😍😍😍😍 - I’d rather go blind 12 years old - th-cam.com/video/pK8mMXQb3_I/w-d-xo.html - Angelina on a sofa testing a new microphone, Etta James cover🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠 See her lower and higher range: - How great thou art 13 years old - th-cam.com/video/WLAEy1LIHrc/w-d-xo.html - well known by Elvis 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 - I have nothing 12 years old - th-cam.com/video/eTcvvO6B3Io/w-d-xo.html - Whitney Houston cover Her original songs: - What is Life 12 years old - th-cam.com/video/Bv0r77KN7RA/w-d-xo.html - Shield 12 years old - th-cam.com/video/m8OCbAlr_48/w-d-xo.html - Oslo 12 years old - th-cam.com/video/R2HkKh_Cp8I/w-d-xo.html - Million Miles 14 years old - th-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/w-d-xo.html - She wrote it for her grandfather, who died in 2019. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 - 7th Heaven 15 years old - th-cam.com/video/bM8DzMRbiIc/w-d-xo.html - Suspicious Minds 16 years old - th-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/w-d-xo.html - Elvis Presley Cover - she is on the next level The beginning on "Norway's got talent" - Angelina won this competition. - Gloomy Sunday 7 years old - th-cam.com/video/d3gSho9yf88/w-d-xo.html - the long version with interviews, Billie Holiday cover - I am a fool to want you 8 years old - th-cam.com/video/6LIcQL5gLoY/w-d-xo.html - she sings a cappella - Bang Bang 8 years old - th-cam.com/video/HCaDyiqs7Wg/w-d-xo.html - the short version - Nancy Sinatra Cover - Summertime 8 years old - th-cam.com/video/bnpFsCNKzFg/w-d-xo.html - the long version with interviews Have a nice day and Greetings from Germany
A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. In this video did you notice:Angelina finishing some notes and handing them to the pianist, who smiled as he read them? They were her wishes (instructions) to the band how she wished therm to play the music. In the band, she was called a boss.
"Forgive me if I yawn . . ." Once she started singing, you forgot you were tired. Not one yawn. No surprise. Great reaction.
And this was Angelina's own arrangement. The band members referred to her as "the boss".
We all know how you feel. The only answer we have is ,"It's Angelina "! There is much more amazement ahead. Have fun!
You’re gonna love her as a singer but even more as an artist. Welcome to the angels.
Angelina is a Vocal Goddess. That is how she does this. She is always amazing and mesmerizing.
Angelina Jordan -- an angel since birth -- a prodigy since eighteen months old -- a rising superstar since seven -- a legend forever!
- Who is Angelina Jordan -
Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music.
A great reaction, thanks 😊 , nice to get a musician understand and view.
Really great reaction to Angelina, she's is so good. No one can ever find words to describe her after they first see her, every reactor's is lost for words and I mean everyone LOL. Look forward to more reactions. 👍👍👍
💗💗💗To deepen the bond: Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT
the thing I love about AJ is she treats every song she sings with dignity and respect, taking the performance as serious as any person I have ever seen, no matter the age or sone, on top of having the most heavenly voice this side of heaven
Remember at 9 year and 2 months she had already almost 8 years of jazz experience 😂
Here for the AJ rabbit hole. Welcome. Chose any song aged 6 to 17. Enjoy. Been watching here for 8 yrs. Always surprises.
Disturbingly good. I enjoy being disturbed like this. And this was a very good production.
welcome to Angelina world
Screaming J Hawkins would be proud of her performance....I've listened to it, and reactions to it, more than any other piece of music I've ever heard. Thanks for your reaction
Thank you for your interesting comment I suggest getting to know Angelina from an early age, :))Danke:)
This is her performing the 3rd movement of that concerto. th-cam.com/video/zad7fkhGzzs/w-d-xo.html
She will blow your mind.
watch her Norway's got talent videos, starting from age 7, they will knock you out, a cappella, then Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday, Summertime, the works
Another Angelina "Angel" has pointed out something else which I had missed, and it is added at (l) below,
(a) Angelina finishing writing last minute changes she wanted and handing them to the Music Director, who smiled.
(e) How she rose on to her toes on the last occasion she sang "...because you're mine"
(f) The fact she occasionally refers to her written notes on the music stand.
(i) At the end, when she sings I Doooont Caaaaare, she employs TWO separate and distinct vibratos to the word care, a wide one to start the word and a tighter one to close the word
(j) The instant transformation from "performance" mode to that of a pensive child, possibly wondering whether she could have done better.
Welcome to Angelinas world. Acording to Stargate record Angelina is" freaking, insanely, scary talented".
perplexed? we all were when we first watched Angelina
Welcome to the world of AJ. The rabbit hole is very deep.
thank your for your comments . she leaves many speechless and in awe . many great singers but every now and then a special one appears . And
Angelina is very special .
You might want to start with Angelina's Norway's Got Talent performances.
She gives mind blowing performances at 7 and 8 years old
- The Barefoot Princess -
(From her book, television and radio interviews, and podcasts made between 2014-2015. Includes excerpts from her diary made that day in 2012.)
Why does Angelina sing barefooted?
To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing…hard to describe really.”
From that point on, Angelina takes off her shoes, in honor of ‘Princess’ and all the other less fortunate children of the world, who are orphaned, hungry, or in want of even basic clothing.
Genius at work, it is as simple as that.
Cool reaction! You have the same reaction I had when she entered Norway got talent in 2014. What… How…? 😊
Keep on listening.
You'll be so happy you've found her!
Absolutely loved your reaction. She is incredible. I’d love to see you go down this rabbit hole. Please do more.
For technical advice she went to the Academy of Music and performing Arts, Oslo from the age of 4, beside school, later on she did the same in LA.
When im old looking back over my life these will be the Angelina Years
Mr J you didn't yawn once.....I figured that would happen.
"Screamin" Jay Hawkins original "I Put A Spell on You" th-cam.com/video/orNpH6iyokI/w-d-xo.html
Good reaction and yes figuring Angelina out is a tough job because she can do things she shouldn't be able to do. Yet there she is. But the good news is you have 160+ Angelina videos to use to work on the problem!! Better get started!
Angelina is the 8th wonder of the world. Her vocals off the chart
To this day you hear and feel this influence in her music
You have chosen to follow a child who will change and move you and the world to a better place.
Angelina has put a Pre-save link on her Instagram and TikTok, for her upcoming music releases.... 🙂👍
Welcome to the next evolutionary cycle of human vocal expression.....brother, you ain't seen nothin' yet! Enjoy the ride. She's phenomenal.
You will discover that every performance of hers is a mind altering surprise. She is a musical prodigy.
I was sure you'd wake up after the first words😀😀😀😀😀
Here are Angelina's Norway's Got Talent performances, begining with her audition at 7 years old. Many Norwegians believe Angelina is one of Norway's National Treasures.

Welcome to the fan club Mr. J. You touched many aspects of Angelina's voice that fans enjoy and why we follow her. I liked her stage presence, gestures and head movements at her young age that are not in many of her later performances.
you 're in for big surprises, she's so versatile you'll be even more amazed.
If we can spread her voice further and farther,
I believe Our Planet can Heal.
I love watching someone react to this performance for the first time! Great reaction.👍🏼🎼🤗
Hope you feel better soon.💞
She is so sassy in this musical masterpiece it's my personal favourite of hers 😍
😂😂😂 U didnt yawn one single time !!
Greatings from an old Danish Dear and Angel ❤️🇩🇰🌷
Well that woke you up! Lol! She's absolutely amazing!
I've seen about 50 reactions to this and I just love seeing people's mind being blown! Welcome to the AJ rabbit hole!

🥰🥰🥰
freakin vibed with it a super lot. god tier and super unique. so glad I came across this video. 🔥🔥🔥
Congrats, you just discovered the most astonishing voice of the century...!
Wonderful reaction to probably the best vocalist of our times. She was born with a full toolbox, and she just keeps getting better!
Real musical Dynamite !!!
This woke you up! Welcome to the club
What you will soon realize is that Angelina today at 17 Angelina is already the best Jazz singer on the Planet! IMO Soon to be one of the Best Vocalists of All Time. ♥👣👸🏻
Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. ♥👣👸🏻
There is video of Angelina recorded by her mother Sarah Astar singing a couple of lines of "I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston when she was 18 months old.
She will sing anything Acapella at any time and often does. ♥👣👸🏻
She is well known worldwide in the industry.
My favourite SK covet is I rather go blind by Ella Fitzgerald
You are straight up, man, thank you...

Have a nice day and
Greetings from Germany
