Agree with Howard below on the food choices. Even Americans get sick of them as well when we're on the road traveling long distances. Tough to be vegan in that situation. Keep it up, you're headed for beautiful country and better food in Cali. Loving this series. You three are a great team. Thumbs up before I even watch the vids.

Just one tip guys....never stand on the shoulder/bike lane when you're fixing a flat (car or bike). You're practically invisible if you're not moving, esp in a country where drivers don't expect cyclists to be on highways.

Having pedalled my ass off all over the south west I feel your pain , but I was much younger then . The first thirty miles looks like the last 30 miles . In December the park is overrun with tourist , June not so much . But people live there believe it or not , although you will see where Furnace creek gets its name and not the best place to be if you are a red head with no sunblock ..
It's a real shame they don't have a tubeless tire sponsor to give one of them a tubeless setup and see how tubeless deals with the billions of tire carcass wires on US interstate system. It would be an interesting test, one tubeless, one touring style heavyweight tire and like a standard GP4000 clincher. My guess is, whomever is running the GP4000 would be abandoned by the other two within 40 miles.
I believe Death Valley is a top two place for dark sky’s. You should shoot night videos especially with the almost full moon we got. If you guys are awake that is. Cheers from Phoenix.
Roadside pit stop restaurants, quiki-marts at gas stations, and most restaurants in small towns that are just a strip on the highway seldom off much selection other than quick food and junk food but its there in spots sometimes if you know where to look. A chinese restaurant anywhere is probably going to be much better than you seem to have thought it would be.
My heart goes out to you when it comes to finding good wholesome and tasty food among the shoddy and shallow fare offered in these cheap markets. Fig Newtons would be about the best in the cookie section. Unlike Gatorade, coconut water replaces the full complement of electrolytes lost in exertion. Gatorade is such a bloody scam!

Francis, how are finding sticking to a vegan diet out there? I was recently in Las Vegas and travelled up to Cedar City in Utah as part of a bigger trip, eating a healthy vegetarian diet was hard and pretty boring let a lone a vegan diet!
