I loved your quick video on Patmos. I wrote a novel on St. John's banishment, called Patmos. I found an account, written by Prochorus (Acts 6:5), one of the seven deacons, along with Stephen and Nicholas, recording John's life on Patmos, miracles performed, the start of the church there, and more. The Revelation does not even appear until 3/4 of the way through the novel. Patmos is totally intriguing to me. Love it.

According to tradition, John didn't banished or pass away on Patmos but left the island after his exile and went back to the mainland. There's a belief that he lived in Ephesus for the rest of his life and died there at an old age.

1:40 Sporades islands are off the coast off Volos, about halfway up the coast from Athens to Thessaloniki. Patmos is in the Dodecanese. Otherwise nice overview.

I love learning all I can about Patmos, even with your silly puns. One based-upon-the-true-story book that well covered John persecuted by Rome, including being boiled in oil, yet surviving unharmed, is the book . It is a Biblical Novel that covers John's arrest, appearance before Domitian Caesar, being poisoned, (he didn't die), being boiled in oil, (he didn't cook), then hastily sent to a penal colony in Patmos where he eventually received the Book of Revelation. Also, most people do not know how John established a new Christian church there, plus was used by Jesus for many miracles. It's a very good book if you want to know more about John on Patmos.

When do you mention that he also wrote Revelation on the isle of Patmos? Am a Baptist and that was never mentioned, it always seemed as they were speaking of a different John. It was finally pointed out, it was confusing to say the least.

The apostle john died before christ did, his death is very well documented. Christ even said

Furthermore he cannot be the writer of revelation, he was already dead, and the gospel dates FAR after the death of christ, it doesnt make any sense man. So much contradiction. It says john the Baptist was beheaded and his head was put on a tray, christ supposedly even had to take time to mourne his cousins death. John was dead. Even early church fathers testified in a hearing that revelation was a forgery and a fake. John did not survive being beheaded, unless things in the new testament were fabricated and if so then the new testament is not reliable what so ever.

The best part is Revelation 21, the part of New Jerusalem Cube Space Ship, colony space ship coming to Earth and rescuing many people, and earth life, and taking it all to a New planet under a new star (probably Orion Nebula less than 1,500 light years from Earth). It's a shame Earth & Solar System gets destroyed, but the trip to the new planet should be fun for everyone on board, provided they have proper shielding from cosmic rays and protection from trans-dimensional space-time travel.
