I used to believe that Ghost Stories was a flop in Japan as well, but it actually did quite well They were actually worried that it wouldn't do well in the west, since it's mainly influenced of famous japanese ghost stories So the cast were allowed to put in some western pop culture references, as long as the story stayed the same And that's how the famous official abridged series we all know & love was born, huzzah!
Inumaki's french dub directly translates to "It's over. Don't move" and the speed in which he said it was bizarre in my opinion as a native speaker. Like they could have just written "Ne bouge plus" in the script and taken out the "C'est terminé" and had the voice actor talk a tad slower and it would still match the animation and might have sounded a bit nicer. Not telling the translators how to do their job, just giving my personal opinion. I speak English and French so I tend to pick up these things when watching in both languages.
Also a little out of character for him right? He’s not supposed to say anything unnecessary, anything other than “don’t move” could have dangerous consequences in that scenario right

yes man, I remember when S1 of SAO first got dubbed, Bryce blew up in EVERY show getting casted as the protagonist in every dub. He's super talented, but I can't stand hearing his voice anymore.
I'm fine with either dub or sub. What I can't do is switch between the two. If I start an anime in dub I can't then watch it subbed and vise versa. It just seems weird to me when I try to watch it in one after establishing it in the other.

The original sub vs dub argument seems like a moot point now; it really seems like it all comes down to the voice coaching like how y’all were watching. I will say even though I used to be “subs only”, when I started watching anime with my kid, we watched English dubbed with subtitles

I love that Young Joseph Jostar's voice actor is Benjamin Diskin in the dub and he basically just talks like Numbuh 1 oh and slight correction DIO is bi sexually not full gay oh and fun fact about Ghost Stories they actually rereleased the Anime in Japan but with the English dialogue sub titled in Japanese and it got more popular than it was when it originally released.
