      @@BigChungus-ts9xf When it comes to inside the cage, Rose is arguably the most exciting female fighter in MMA. Definitely is when it comes to the Strawweight division. If you count her fights from TUF, her career fight finish percentage in wins is 77%, and her decisions against Joanna and Andrade were still very entertaining fights.
      You're never going to see a boring Rose fight. The only fights of hers in her career that were meh to me are the two with Tecia Torres, who that's how every single one of her career fights is. Her nickname should be changed to "The Decision", because 16 of her 17 career fights have gone to decision.

    If you slow down the motion of Rose's kick, you will find that:
    - Rose's eyes were focused on Weili's legs, disturbing Weili's prediction
    - Rose feinted to throw a body kick, but turned out to be high.
    Rose's technique is very excellent, and I believe that her team has done lots of research on this. Rose could knockout Weili with a kick, and Joanna with a hook, this is not just luck or coincidence, but she did pay a lot of effort. Similarly, Usman's jab trap was also amazing, which easily disarmed Masdival's guard, and created the chance of the back hand. Very very awesome skills for both.

      She is the best by far when she wants to be. That was the problem in the first Andrade fight. She was just young and didn't like all the shit that was being thrown at her by being champion. There was a part of her that didn't mind losing, and you can't have that at the top level.
      There's a video analyzing her mindset on TH-cam during her run over the last 4 years. She believed going into the first and second Joanna fights that she was the best. She had doubts about what she wanted in the first Andrade fight. There were still some doubts about her place after the second Andrade fight. As you can see, that changed as she was talking about herself as the best.
      Rose is also a different person now at 28 than she was at 25 when she won her first title. She now knows what goes into being a champion, and truly appreciates holding that championship. You could see she was much more emotional winning it this time than she was the first time. If you go back and watch her post fight interview after the first Joanna fight, the title wasn't even that important to her. It's a very different story now, and it makes me believe we are in for a very lengthy reign.

    • @isaytheenay5961
      @isaytheenay5961 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Levi Ackerman She's 5 and 1 in the UFC. Local fights don't really matter, when talking about the international stage. Most UFC fighters begin with comparable records when entering the UFC, often clean of any losses in lower level promotions - especially if they were kept in those lesser promotions for a long time. It's meaningless, mostly. Weili's victories came pretty much all from a single fight promotion (Kunlun) with dubious international Credit. Ben Askren for a counter example, was far more dominant in far more credible international promotions. And he got blasted in the UFC. UFC is on another level, and they prove this over and over again.
      5 and 1 is not dominance, but it is enough to be called a top prospect and serious contender. And her division is very thin, compared to for example: Robert Whittaker, who was on a 9 fight win-streak before his loss and did NOT get an immediate rematch. So there is a lot of reasons she will be getting a rematch. First of all, UFC wants to enter the Chinese market with more force. Secondly, Weili is well liked and has a good name that attracts eyes. Thirdly, she's good enough that it's difficult to find her competition outside of the top 3. If Andrade was to return to the division, Weili might be forced to do Joanna vs Weili 2 while Jessica fought for the title, but otherwise, yeah, she'll probably rematch Rose.
      This is actually bad for Zhang since Rose is a stylistic nightmare for her, and perhaps the person most uniquely suited to beating her style. Honestly if people wanted more longevity for Zhang they would wait for someone to unseat Rose, while Zhang took some time on a come-back tour displaying her dominance on other opponents. This would give her time to train vs Rose's unique and unorthodox style. By contrast, an immediate rematch against Rose, if lost, would just mean she loses hope of future rematches so long as Rose is champ. And then she would probably have to jump divisions. Because unless Jessica comes back, who in this division is going to beat Rose? Joanna won't be getting a rematch soon, having been beaten twice. And in that scenario Rose would have beaten Zhang twice too. The next 3 years would see Rose wupping the crap out of other women in that division, while the UFC hunted across the world for more contenders. That's the reality, if Zhang gets an immediate rematch and loses. I don't think it's wise. But it is probably what's going to happen anyway.
      Ps: I love Weili, and think she is a wonderful human being. Just for the record.

    weili zhang should not get an immediate rematch. she's not been that 'dominant,' despite what the announcer said. she's defended her belt once. she should fight another contender to see who gets to fight rose. that's not only fair but it builds suspense.

    Guys I'm Portuguese...unfortunately we don't have a big culture of fighting sports so naturally I'm a soccer fan but the fighting spirit was always in me....
    K1 and muay thai are my favorites...... just love Tyrone spong but last year i started following closely mma and ufc...I don't like when fight goes to the floor ( khabib will never be my favorite, if we would fought in kick boxing or muay thai rules he wouldn't Finnish first round).... therefore I'm learning....after this event I started to listen a lot pound for pound.....what does it mean? Cheers and respect from a Portuguese guy living in Belgium

      @taariqkhanoflegend4622 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pound for pound is a ranking system in combat sports to determine the best/most talented or skilled fighter across all weight divisions ie. The best fighter irrespective of weight division.

    • @francocholo1247
      @francocholo1247 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a subjective ranking that's meant to rank fighters across all weight classes (i.e. who would be the best fighter if they all weighed the same). It ends up being just a promotional tool for the UFC (they give higher rankings to fighters they want to promote, like making Weili higher ranked than Valentina, even though she's not half as good), and shouldn't be used for anything but entertainment purposes.

    Sorry, If you are the champ and get knocked out in the first round. You don't deserve an immediate rematch. I could see it if the fight went the distance and came down to a decision or even a knockout in the 5th but not less that 2 minutes into the first round.

    • @NannupTiger
      @NannupTiger 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or it could be considered a 'lucky' shot from Rose (again)... much deserving of a new, proper fight, a rematch, sorry but I would love to see a good, long fight between these 2, see who's toughest, for real...

    • @johnfloyd8985
      @johnfloyd8985 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Getting knocked out in the first round is not the determining factor. Cris was KO'ed in the first round but she could have easily has a n instant rematch w/Nunes if she had stayed. There are other examples. It's her short reign that should dictate at least one more fight against a top contender before challenging again; ideally Joanna.

    • @randumo24
      @randumo24 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobody is talking about it because there is nothing to talk about. They just touched gloves in the middle of the ring. It was just a strategic move on the part of Weili to want to touch gloves again, because Rose is a striker that fights from range while touching gloves would get her in close.
      It would be one thing if it was the 5th round of a back & forth fight they were having. It's a completely different story in the 1st round seconds after they just got done being brought together to touch gloves.
