Pula tekong firing range has the prettiest night sky in Singapore….no doubt
I will never forget the day me and my company sat in the dark looking up looking at the sky full of stars
The night sky in Tekong is a beauty. I remember forming up outside the canteen after breakfast/dinner and staring at the moon. By the 3rd time I saw the full moon it was time to POP.
Big up yourself Tyler. Not easy losing your dad just before the pandemic and then having to enlist during it.
He's a 2lt now
@@deviladvoc expected. You can roughly tell who will end up as 2LTs.

The name for knot you are tying for the boot laces at 01:36 is actually called a lazy chain(iirc). There has always been a misconception that the idea behind is it looks neat and is easy for you to undo after a long day of training. I've always had a hard time explaining to my troopers why we need to tie our boots this specific way and how come we always enforce this one and only method. Until, I learnt from witnessing an actual rescue on one of my man in my unit, where his evacuation was delayed slightly as they could not get his boots off because this fella decided to come up with his own fancy way of tying his boots. Afterwards I found out from the response team that the reason is actually for emergency cases such as the aforementioned where there is a need to remove your boots quickly. Having this standardised way of tying your boots would allow any other personnel army wide to easily undo your boot laces to save your feet.
Three cheers for Sergeant Fauzi!
Commissioned as an officer in 2018 an was under 3WO Uthaya in Alpha Wing, OCS. Man of great conduct, a professional soldier and a respected trainer 👍
the sgts and enciks so nice im shook
cuz camera lol
Me too, my commanders were never like these
cause got camera ma, u try no camera and see.. hahaha
Got camera mah…
Is show time …..Of course they have to pretend to be nice to recruits.
I love this Army 2020 version, everyone's so nice. It was never like that(so nice) when I served.
Because the cameras are on them
@@thebakery5555 Couldve something to do with the officer being too cruel too and parents complaining
Wow.. Seeing this reminds me of 18 years ago during my BMT days!! Such a good memories...
Legend has it..encik is still searching for his Tyler
I see the recruits strolling to the range, and replying to their commanders in soft voices that isn't in unison. That's something i only see during reservist...never during bmt.
It has always been like that, week 0 is a holiday resort, week 1 and 2 is where the mind games kick in and they realised they have been wrong abt the nice treatment
My BMT Days in year 2000 first to last day BMT is so much more like a soldier this one a bit like boot camps slash scouts
Seeing this video, really reminds me alot of my BMT. MWO Tan was my OC back in Gryphon company and even the PT instructor was like a assistant instructor back then. Times really flies.
I was from Gryphon as well, April 2004- August 2004.
i find discipline seems to have relax quite a lot; when you enter a room, you greet the officer first, but end up is the encik greeting hin and this recruit didn't even address encik after his greeting.
Time have changed. Now Sgts & enciks are sent from heaven...
Yes Nabil is right. I totally underestimate how loud it will be, from the bunk in Rocky Hill, it didn't sound that loud. Mind you, i was a recruit with mild-hearing loss & hearing sensitivity. Don't ask me how come i was combat fit, i dont even know.
Am proud with this current cohort of new NS recruits. Brings me precious memories when I was in Pulau Tekong in School 1, Bronco Coy. Tyler, jiayous:)
Nice one SGT Fauzi, your fruit-killing skills are remarkable!
Its 3SG Fauzi bro....3rd Sargeant 😊
@@Fadil19-84 knock it down bro
@@Macobsession100 😆😆
parents don't be fooled please🤣 they seem very nice because it's the first week of enlistment. After week 1 (honeymoon period), they assume you've already warmed up and know everything about NS. That's when all hell break lose 🤣
Big thanks to the reguLArs and the NS boys for serving our Nation. 🇸🇬💪🏼
Ah i saw my instructor 12:42 , still here, but our one quite special, female instructor also have. I remember that one time during PT she said she wants to train us till we can crush a building , that was the time we had dumbbells and more strength & power training 😁
She has a very specific taste huh... She building herself a squad of Pillar Men
Today recruit and soldiers are so fortunate and life in army is not as tough as when I am in the army in the 80s.
Seeing others going thru the same thing brought back memories from the 90s. Thank you guys.
Oh wow, so much memories is coming back to me. Adapting to the new environment wasn’t easy but NS was such a life changing experience (in a good way)
This video brings back so many memories for me
i remember my time, Weapon Presentation was in the wee hours of the morning, got a sudden wakeup call and needed to rush down fast for the ceremony...
Whoa. I don’t recall my instructor coaching me how to put on my boots. We figure it out on our own. Haha
Cannot be. Even when i serve my bmt in 1994, your section IC (the sergent) have to teach you how to tie the boots
Your instructor probably miss out many details then. These little stuff makes a difference
My instructor all go mess. Where for so nice come up and teach u how to wear bootlace
I want to be in NS and I’m excited:)
I remember i had to wake up at 4am ish for this? Then no rehearsal.
Yeesss!!!!!!!!!
Wah all so nice....i still remember dragon encik back in 2010..sibei siao on sial..comando + special force. Sibei on
My NS days are M16 with 300m range, it is very difficult to achieve marksmanship. After ORD when SAR21 first introduce, we NSmen had a conversion course, and in the 100m range, suddenly everybody becoming a marksman 😁
LTC Dennis, BMTC school 1 commander, seems as lively as always. Remember him from my Tango wing days in OCS, best wing commander ever.
WAHAHAHAHAHAH IN FRONT OF CAMERA NIA IF UNWELL SEE DOCTOR LOL
During my time they just legit let us go see MO be it small problem or big problem lol.
There’s gotta be one guy who says “with this country, I’ll defend my weapon” lol plenty of that when I was there
Oh yes actually I remember this PC. He has good EQ. I think he was in my camp 20 years ago before the camp demolished
If u r sick go see doctor..
Then get labelled as Chao geng regardless real or fake by the sgts. #truestory
Because there are really quite a significant number of malingerers out there in a conscript force. This in turns really harms those with legitimate ailments/injuries from sounding out early due to that stigma attached to it, not to mention that there's the guilt of not being able to pull one's weight in a team exercise.
Cough at their face, and see them going to see MO the next day, so you can say chao geng ah Sgt? 😂
Brings back both happy and tramautic memories. On a side note, has the command structure changed in Bmt? I thought PCs used to be Officers
Only unit then officer
That was changed like 4/5 years ago? Heard it was something like shortage of officer, but not sure if that’s true.
In unit, only officers can be PCs.
In BMT, both officers and WOs can be PCs.

@@ridzuanasri8800 fck that sergeant lah. Deserves any punishment he gets. Your men tell you they are injured. Not you tell them. He sergeant, not doctor
Memories. I once did a demo on 300meter range shooting ballon on open house.
Are they so nice to the soldiers cause of the camera or is it all so nice now? So cute, like a scout camp :)
miss those recruit days in Tekong. I was enlisted in year 2000 from Scorpion Coy.. Scorpion Warriors all the way..!
Wtf nowadays the commanders in bmt so nice ? Last time my platoon sergeant once said, he will return what he suffered by his sergeant to us 3x , it was hell for my platoon
Because this is bmtc school style. And even if they push, they also do not push the recruits too hard. Remembered the time when only one screw-up, the sergeant starts punishing and give the hell treatment
Guys this was all cos of camera off camera wasnt the same treatment trust me i was one of the recruits here
Times have changed. Nowadays, a lot of protocols and training safety regulation especially during BMT. Now the mindset, is come in one piece and go back in one piece and don't do anything that jeopardize the safety of the recruits.

Interesting that the Singapore Army doesn't shoot with any eye protection, which is a standard safety equipment internationally.

the chamber is at the right hand side, and the shooter are all spaced out far enough, also the round is only 5.56mm

Young men: If you watching this and your parents have some disposable income. Get a higher eduction in other country and dont come back
Parents: If your son dies during NS or Reservist. The payout is peanuts. Wake up yr idea and send them away for good. This GOV has betrayed us ages ago.
"Watch and shoot"?? What happened to "Watch your front"
Changed already. Something about 'firing window' so no discrepancies when misfire. No command for shoot, dont shoot.
We will defence our country!!💪💪💪
1:17 - SAR21 not supposed to automatic fire horh?
Haha I rmb it was to clear blank rounds left in the mag after fire movement drills. Tho must get permission from Sgt and be discrete from other commanders. Man that really brings back memories from outfield.
Yoh damn! How old is Recruit Tyler tho? Fellow look oldest than the rest.
Wonder do they still practice doing pull-ups before every meals.

Good job
Dont recruits march from places to places anymore? So pampered until everywhere is strolling?
SGT’s and Encik to nice leh, maybe bc camera infront of their face.
I thought when we go in all will get assigned 4 numbers? Why suddenly they call them by name 😂

What Sniper Rifles does the Saf use?
Every SAR21 has a scope attached, make it feel like a sniper weapon

The fact tgat he got a skeram v3
How many rehersals has been done before shooting.
I wasted a lot of ammo in the dinosaur detail during my time 🤣
Jia you, recruits.
try filming mono intake and this will look like kids game lmao
I'd really love to see commandos in training instead of BMT
When is the next ep
Should let the watermelon wear the helmet and see what happens
I ord already and cannot fucking remember if we had a firepower demonstration. I have some vague ass memories of not wanting to take cover behind trees though
I always thought the pull bar has gone extinct lol
The jambu soldier..
i think malay sergeant are the kindest if chinese sergeant die already cause they are mostly the strictest. but it’s just my opinion i haven’t been in the army i’m only 15
Hmmm no 2nd LT?
Morale of soldiers is key, leading all physical trainings, spirit of fighting soldiers - to boost the courageous spirit of the soldiers we need good leaders who are constantly observant to look out, care for their physical and mental well beings during trainings, and after training the emotional health of soldiers under them
A good leader earns the soldiers' trust, faith and respect and their confidence in obeying, carrying out tasks in trainings, fightings and defending the country they called it HOME
Is that a new helmet design? how come look so different.
It's a high-cut design for ergonomic fit when a soldier wears the PRC650 individual comms set, which has a head-mounted earcup on one side.
It can be a tight and uncomfortable fit when wearing this 650 under the old helmet design.
@@myrs4 icic thanks for informing. i thought something was wrong with my perception lol.

This is fake af because u don’t hear the commanders use vulgarities
Quite true. Tbh the ep so far a bit boring... no vulgarities, bmt looks so mild, like the encik plan all these a bit wayang.. Hope they show more in subsequent eps, shld be better...
I came from the batch right before this and it's not far off from what I experienced. Of course they won't show the vulgarities in front of the camera.
Vulgar confirm censored one. Behind the scenes, confirm would swear.
If it's real then they are all gona die when they go unit lol. Cultural shock esp if go hokkien peng camp
@@VOPS33 now where got hokkien peng liao?
Finally Sg as a nation survives COVID… it’s not the end but the worst is over.
GO TYLER
Huhuu very lembik u know
Nowadays, being instructors or commanders are not easy, have to follow the training safety regulations and protocols strictly. 10 years ago while I was an instructor, we were already told to treat them with more respect such as no vulgarities and no absurd punishment without reason. Even if they were punish, is all within the protocol and training safety regulations and reasons have to be provided to the trainee or recruits of why they were punish else they can lodge a complain or feedback. If they are sick, we cannot stop them from reporting sick else anything happen, whom to take up the responsibility? Of course, we will inform them there are remedial training or make up lesson. So this is why when I see this video, it all make sense. Just take it as you send your children to school and the school teachers nowadays cannot anyhow scold or punish the student or else...
