.... The fact that this gentleman has done 19yrs in prison and doesn’t come off as bitter or jaded is almost a miracle ... It takes a lot to start over from where he came from... I hope he continues down this road, and is able to make his life whole, and make up the time he has lost

And I respect his decision to not share a lot of his prison experience and stories. I'm sure in 19 years with some of the most violent people in the world you will see a ton of un-wanted shit and to tell those stories is to re-live that trauma. At least that's what some friends of mine tell me when they tell stories of prison. I can only imagine. I still think face tattoos are a dumb ass idea and only a few people have been able to pull it off so other than that I'd have to say I kinda like this guy.

I'm 42. My dad left me when I was a toddler and my mom told him to stay away (drugs). I finally talked to him for the first time when I was 30 years old, and we started working on our relationship. He died a couple of years ago before I really got to catch up and know him, but I consider it an important and valuable part of my life. As Matt's son gets older, it WILL mean more to him to know who Matt is. I hope Matt stays consistent in his successes to beat his problems away. That effort is what turned the corner with my dad and myself. Congrats on the badass journey so far.

      Nope.
That's street smarts. People confuse it with intelligence.
They are educated. Just like a sheltered yuppie is educated in college, low-iq people are educated on the streets.
Intelligent people wouldn't do the things he's done, including the tattoos on his face and losing 19 years of his life in prison.

@matthewcammarano5357 - In all sincerity, I'm glad you turned your life around. What I was mainly referring to are victims who were/are not in the life. Those are the people who are forever traumatized. In the life & being a victim is karma. Again I'm glad you turned your life around and hope you're able to stay straight. I think it's great that you're getting happiness from helping other people. Speak for your goddamn self.
You watch a 17 minute interview and you're exclaiming him to be a good guy? 😂
His son is under ZERO obligation to hear him out. You have ZERO idea what trauma he experienced because of his father's lifestyle.
He hasn't even been around most of his life, why would he care when he's gone?
I get so irritated when others use their own situation to tell others what they should and shouldn't do about their situation.
That's exactly what these guys want. They didn't want any of the responsibility and then at the end when they settle down they want everyone to forgive them. Good for his son not falling for that crap.
I'll use my own father as an example.
Lifelong meth addict, drug dealer and pimp.
You know what people like you say after they've talked to him for 5 minutes. What a great guy.
      He's not a great guy.
So take all that, and add that he didn't give us a dime in child support, wasn't there for my most formative years, was a terrible role model.
Now he's getting old and can't do those things anymore, I'm supposed to forgive him and give him what he wants after all that? And possibly be responsible for taking care of him in his old age?

Whether he had no role in the kids life for decades or had a violent/nasty addict role in the kids life for many years, that leaves a scar & for some people it’s plenty good reason to not want to be close. If you watched your dad shoot meth and tear apart the home every day then go to prison and not once contact you like you’re nothing you probably would think twice when he shows up to be dad only when things are going well for him.

Also there was a takedown of a bunch of guards from the max who all got charged with sex assault against female guards. They were also holding prisoner fights in the cells for their entertainment, super toxic place...

As long as he's NOT for the police and is satisfied to stay out of their way, then it's only a matter of time before he's back in the depths again. We are but mortal men in this world and unless we defer to God himself which also means listening and obeying the laws God put over us, then all is lost. I do what God says and what he wrote in the bible and obey the laws set up for all of us to live under, and guess what???? Things go just fine. Submitting to higher powers authority helps us all. He fails to comprehend that billions of people can't all do what they think is right or swear is the right path. Laws and rules help us all live together.

Sometimes I write long, thoughtful comments after watching Mark's videos. I could do that now. But today I will just say:
    I love this man.

Mark, you seem like you have a beautiful soul. The most important thing in life is humbling ourselves enough to genuinely help others on their journey, and it seems like you’ve done a good job at that! Wishing you and your family many blessings in the years to come. Salud!

Man this audience is such a goofy mix of extremes from people that are like overly compassionate to people that are just wannabe edgy dweebs that think they've got the world figured out yet have usually lived pretty quiet uneventful fairly boring lives.

I respect people like him way more than the large majority of active gang bangers. I’m sure I wouldn’t like what he used to be, but I respect the heck out of people who see that they were a bad person, and don’t try to make excuses or justify the evil that they’ve done. A lot of ex gang bangers are still trash people, they just end up chewed up and spit out, so they walked away for reasons that aren’t respectable. This dude is a real man, no matter what his past looks like, he owns it, and doesn’t try to make excuses. I get that life often times deals bad hands, but that doesn’t give anyone the right to hurt/victimize other people. I see a lot of ex gang bangers glorifying the POS that they used to be, and telling war stories like it’s fond memories, which tells me they’re still a POS, they’re just too old and strung out to be respected by the gang. Between social media and the music industry, they’ve made gang culture and murder look cool. I’ve literally heard songs with rappers saying “I don’t respect you, unless you got a body.” Which means murder in layman’s terms. It’s such a viral ideology, that it seems to be by design. It could be about making gun crime so bad, that people will be more willing to give up their 2nd amendment rights. They’ve already done it in major cities around the country.

These real life stories are nothing short of incredible and unbelievable. Someone very close to has a past similar to this, and it captivates me when she feels comfortable enough to share some with me. I strongly believe in rehabilitation, and this mans story is pure real.

G'Day from rural South Australia, I spent a week in Adelaide jail in the 70's for a stupid speeding fine of about $65 that I did not pay, I could not get out of there fast enough, many of my friends would go on to be locked up frequently over the years & many are not here today, you seem so down to earth & life is good, all the best m8y

I like what Mark is doing. I especially love when he scores interview with these folk. Who encourage no to do evil acts in this world. Not come to brag and gloat about their evil. May they all repent and give their lives over to Jesus Christ. So that when life is over they do not perish in everlasting fire but have eternal life in heaven. A world with no more suffering

@Matt Be nice to your mother. Shower her with love for the rest of her life. What you did to her when you were younger was brutal. You have to atone for that.
