Around about 1980 I saw the Moondogs doing this song on a local television show in Northern Ireland, I thought it was a brilliant pop song then and I still think it’s a brilliant pop song today in January 2023. Would love to know more about the Moondogs and what direction they went in later life. I didn’t know any of them or anything about them except they were from Derry I think. Jackie Hamilton on lead...now runs his own TV production company....called moondog production's.... based in Belfast... Peter MC candless I last heard was in England living but not sure....and yes they were from Derry...
Saw them support the undertones at the Glasgow apollo 1980.what a night cant be its 44 years ago.still sounds fresh

I first heard them on their Peel session, I've got it on Strange Fruit. The other group from Derry.
@@chrisst8922 Strange Fruit never issued their Peel Session. Detour Records did though, on CD in 2003.
