I would say the fan assemblies at the top are the snow makers. You can see the water pipes running up to them and I saw another video that showed an icy build up on parts of the metal framework.

Big snow is a great place to get some off season riding in! But you have to be careful, I went 2 times once last month in December and once in January 2023. When I was there my friend dislocated his elbow, the snow is hard and packed you have to be careful and not only that but there is a ton of beginners at big snow. The beginners have no control and have no idea what their doing, there’s no ski patrol and it can get really busy so just be careful when you go. Someone died there last month, December 14th 2022. Apparently he fell back on his head and knocked out, he had a helmet on too. I heard too that the mall itself almost went bankrupt, which sucks because it’s so new and they have a ton of cool stuff there.

How do they make the snow? They have small snow cannons usually along a gantry in the middle of the slope than blows hot water and air which then freezing in the "fall time" which then creates the snow. The snow is not real snow as mentioned, its very abrasive and will strip a board with wax very quickly. Also you cannot make a snowball with the snow unless its freshly blown. Where you hit the "ice spots" is usually below the cannons. so look up and you will see them, but they are small!
