I think Arch is perfect for this phone project, because this Linux Mobile thing is relatively new and experimental, getting better every day, and just make sense to be mainline and up to date with the new things. Just blew my mind when started etcher and flashed an image on the phone like your average Ubuntu pendrive.

how far along is it on PinePhone? I'm getting back to this video to switch from Mobian to Ubuntu Touch because it looks snappier than phosh but still unsure about the state of it all. Would be nice to see more pinephone related videos and their OS-es.

Does Ventoy work for your "jumpdrive"? If so, you could simply copy several distro-images on one sd-card and never ever think about belana-etcher or equivalents again...
Could you make a comment in some of the future videos on how this matches up to termux application on android performance-wise, package availability-wise etc. From my experience termux packages are somewhat restricted and there are ways to set aarch64 distros but it is fairly painful to do so. Thanks in advance

I was so hoping to distro hop too on my Pinephone but i cannot get my computer to see my Pinephone with Jump drive installed bummer. Maybe I will try it on my Debian computer.

Great!
I see that **OpenBSD** has an arm64 port so I wonder if that could be installed on this phone?
I'd **love** to see someone try it!
Cool to see updates thankyou!
Thanks for showing me how!
Put openSUSE in a phone. Now you have my total attention.
nice. i am still distro hopping on my laptop. please do arch installation dual boot on uefi for 2021.
If you want to get rid of distro-hopping then install debian testing and relax
which OS do you recommend most for the PinePhone?

And the jump drive logo appears on the screen? That's odd.
@@TechHut Yes it does but I hooked it up to my Debian Stable machine and it worked so I don't know what the deal is with my Manjaro machine.
is it possible to flash HiveOS on a smartphone?
Well, my android phone runs Arch(TermuxArch) BTW
root?
better yet linux deploy if you can get it to root
Nice video 👍👍
is Arch ARM as hard to setup as Arch Linux on a desktop?
Can I install Ubuntu touch on any android phone? If so how?
In general, I like suse, ubuntu, and mageia for computers.
Will it work Ventoy?
So why did you throw in the SD? You flashed it from the computer directly.
The software on the SD card allows the internal hard drive of the phone to be recognized as a medium that you can Flash images to.
can it work 2 sim card?
Excellent!
Do you know if OBS can pickup the camera in Manjaro?
I should be able to no issue. Especially if it's your standard webcam.

Imagine buying a pinephone then installing android on it lol

there is some horrendous deep noise in your videos, probably fan noise, please consider a better placed mic or cutting the lower freqencies
Insane :D
I want Kali Linux on this phone
btw my phone runs Arch lol :D
Wutt?!? Right on!

They have nice splash screens but not functional. Loooooooooong way to go.
