And stop eating animals and animal products as animal agriculture is the biggest cause of CO2 and methane emissions and polluter on the planet--not to mention extremely cruel slavery and death of innocent animals.
Appreciate this positive yet sobering note to the New Year. Will look at description (see link below video) on Sylvie’s upcoming free workshop ‘From Distress to Rooted Resilience‘ for more in depth knowledge of Nature Therapy and our crisis.
This content very much mirrors my own recent thoughts. I saw a ferruginous hawk a couple of days ago. I was confused, because where I am at is outside it's normal range. All of the planet is in chaos. Miraculously, I am doing ok. I am so grateful for that. I am doing my best to do the tiny things I can do to have a positive impact, but it is very difficult.

Can you imagine ? 2 or 3 millions of people ready to leave the 'system' and have the proposal for an appointment in the same day and in the same 'land' and say: let's to generate our life together on this space where we are now because here we can live our genuine nature. Right, so the best thing to do is have one or none child per couple. It will slow the demise, and will result in fewer people having to suffer. Right now, six of the eight billion people on Earth live with great deprivation. Two billion in China, Russia, Egypt, Iran, and North Korea live under dictators who have kept them in poverty. Not having a democratic society is bad enough but the average person in China and Russia is poor. Then there is the great poverty of four billion people in India, Indonesia, Myanmar, The Philippines, Madagascar, Africa, and Latin American. People living on the streets, suffering noise and pollution. Even in the well of countries of Europe, North America, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and New Zealand, there are one hundred million poor people. Stop having more than one child per couple. Idealy, find love in helping the people that are already here.
TDS? How about truth seeking? This was the time to get a third party. The media is the problem, learning how to identify propaganda is critical, much like thinking is critical. Capitalism is monarchy
Our system is rigged against third parties. It is currently less difficult to take over a major party, as Trump has done, than winning as a third party. Capitalism is fine, it just needs to be properly regulated with universal human values.

I feel their pain and despair. However, the best way to solve a problem is not to give up. Yet, this is what you do when you can't imagine a solution to the problem. The solution does exist, however. It also is a solution which solves many other problems and increases local resiliency and local ecology all while sequestering a lot of carbon. If you are curious what the solution is. Read o. Plants take carbon dioxide out of the air as they grow. In fact, the only thing left from a tree after you burn it, is the part that came from the ground. All the other atoms came from the air. Eventually that carbon goes into and builds soil because plants feed the microbes around their roots with as much as half of their photosynthetic CO2 sequestration. It's easy to turn degraded land that has almost no carbon left into fertile land that has tens of thousands of pounds of carbon in the soil per acre, in as little as 10 years. Most industrial farmland is denuded and has almost no carbon left in the soil. This is due to years of tillage, chemical applications, and monocropping. Many areas of degraded and desertified land has been regreened using landscape designs that mimic and actually accelerate natural growth. Aside from sequestering lots of CO2 living growing soil that produces more food per square foot of farmland than industrial chemiculture is already in operation. If only 30% of degraded farmlands and deserts were regreened and the plants sequestered only two pounds of carbon per square foot, that would be enough for society to go to net zero. (I can show you the calculations) We could go to net zero by working with nature; we will never be able to do it by fighting nature. The regeration movement around the world is increasing as more projects spring up. Our friend and sometimes host, John Liu has shown that restoring hydrological cycles at scale is effective and heartening. But the heating of the oceans, massive ice loss, and other aspects of the polycrisis are taking the planet to a dangerous edge where it will be hard for many living things to survive. Net zero emissions/cleaner skies also means no aerosol masking effect/frying us to extinction sooner. And "livestock management" is only a euphemism for enslaving and killing innocent beings who did nothing to deserve our wrath when we could just be eating plants instead. Animal agriculture has a devastating impact on the planet.
Can you give an example of what you mean by pseudoscience, and what it is about it that you feel is unhelpful? I would really like to better understand what you mean, and what, specifically, your objection is.
@@TheFlyingBrain. Well the two glaring mistakes are: 1 the misuse of the term "indigenous peoples" as all people are unless separated by tragedy indigenous to their ancestral homelands. 2 the assumption that the Judeo Christian Religions were based out of Europe when they were in fact imported to Europe from Western Asia and forced on the Europeans by the Byzantine Empire's elite aafter the first Council of Nicea. Both mistakes show a bias on the speakers part that gives an illusion of a wide spread European POV that was acutally held only by the elites and not by the common people.
…then your issue isn’t “pseudoscience” but semantics. Her use of words and their meaning is what you don’t agree with. She’s not trying to convince people that, as one example of trendy pseudoscience, the pole shifts or sun cycles, are to blame for ecological collapse.

The solution is systematic change. No house, no oil, no job Both these people are in houses. They are wearing clothes made of oil.

This was really inappropriate to the crisis we face.
Why?
@TheFlyingBrain. It was so much navel-gazing nonsense. We need to save ourselves from global heating, right now. Get to the lifeboats.
Too much pseudoscience in your guest speakers teachings for me.
