a benchmade is better materials , better name for itself and slight differences in engineering that make them that much better for flipping
I don't buy a Benchmade primarily because balisongs are forbidden in my country and I wouldn't know how to smuggle one in :D
Benchmade is cheaper than a CNC machine.

Balisong originated in Philippines, my grandpa use to make this with no machining just old fashioned tools. If you know how to use balisong how to swing and all the tricks it's fun to show them to people and it's pretty easy to use. Just be careful when you swing to open you can cut your fingers

Benchmade model 42 design. Original factory has titanium handles, his is stainless I believe.

little advice, or ignore me: id round the hancles so they are easier to move in your hand anddrill the channel with a slightly smaller bit so you can have a thinner blade wth less unwanted space between it. still soooo amazing thought. i need one of yours

Well, here in the Philippines, specifically in Batangas Province is where Balisongs originated. It comes in all sizes. From as small as a Key to as big as a Katana Sword!! A well forged Balisong should be able to punch a hole in a coin like hot knife through butter!

Those edges on the handles must pinch like hell, have a bali with somewhat rounded corners that hurts like hell when it pinches. Also a good idea to save the tang pin cutout for the final fitting, same with the blade kicker, and I would highly recomend doing it with a file instead of milling it (can rough it out on the mill though.)
