Hi my name is Lilly and I am an American expat living on the island of Koh Samui in the gulf of Thailand for the last 9 years. My husband is Thai and his name is Wat. We have two boys named Luke and Leon and a new baby girl named Lyla. Nam is our Nanny and she is like family to us. She is from Myanmar and has worked for us for over 7 years.

You might try this: In addition to your regular menu, offer special dishes once a week (e.g. Italian dishes on Fridays, Mexican dishes on Tuesdays; etc.) Best wishes for a very happy and prosperous New Year filled with many blessings, Lilly and family.

I love, love, love a restaurant with a small menu, that’s usually the best restaurants that use fresh produce and make things from scratch! E.g. it’s enough with one meat-, one fish-, one vegetarian or preferably vegan dish (that can be made vegetarian by adding cheese/cream/egg etc) and a few sides that can be combined. Simple but with variation. You can have a week menu where these vary from day to day, then a couple of times a year , you may make seasonal changes. But basically keep it simple and be great at a few dishes! When I see a small menu, I feel confident in the restaurant! Large menus are real offputting as it means they have to have things frozen or stored, they use powders, canned stuff etc etc to cut corners and be able to have those menus - NOT GOOD! Ask any successful chef, e.g. Gordon Ramsay, he would say the same! 🤗 ❤️💞🎊🎉💞❤️

@@lottatroublemaker6130 Thank you. Possums in Australia are nocturnal wide eyed cute animals. It was only recently I discovered folk in the US consider possums ugly vermin. There is a famous children's book here called Possum Magic. Lyla reminds me of the baby from that book. Beautiful brown eyes, hungry to understand the world. I meant no offence to Lilly or Lyla.

Lily, Watt doesn't want to wear red because he doesn't like to be teased as a black bird with red chili in its beak, because he has dark tan skin color. Another way of Thai saying that he putting on airs, or another way of telling someone he or she doesn't look good in red. Hope this helps you understand him bit more.

This is all I use to make the most delicious tomato sauce: 28-ounce can of whole peeled tomatoes
5 tablespoons of butter - Kerry Gold pure Irish butter
Peeled and halved onion
Salt
Ziti pasta
You can also use basil and garlic if you like. I love garlic! My hubby is the chef of the house and he makes the best Spaghetti Bolognese! I use butter in mine; he uses cheese throughout, so his is very creamy. He is an Aussie and a darn good cook! 😎 Happy New Year!

I’m Thai and I can understand what Wat was trying to say about black bird he meant a crow is holding chilis. It’s a Thai proverb describes someone who has a dark skin and wear red or any bright colors that are very contrast to their skin tone. It’s just a saying to tease with your close friends. It was not until he came to Australia that he got fairer treatment as a matter of fact he was actually favoured over his brother because he is good looking with a great personality

My mother in law makes a really good bolognese sauce. She adds shredded carrots and squash. We don’t add milk, but I would like to try it. The ground beef we buy here in Mexico isn’t chewy. It’s tender. I know that’s not like that everywhere here in MX but our butcher has really great quality fresh meat. I like garlic, my husband does not. It bothers him and he dislikes the smelly breathe it gives him and others around him 😂 he’s sensitive to smells so he doesn’t want to smell someone else’s odors 🤣
I love that your family comes together to eat on the floor and “convivir” or hang out. It’s such a bonding time you all have together. I love that about Thai culture.
I know what you mean about wasting time. I’m 36 and honestly kind of feel stuck, not necessarily bad but not with a growth mindset either on spiritual things which is mostly my concern. I’m going to start a corporate fast with hungry gen church. Pastor vlad savchuk has a TH-cam channel filled with spirit filled content. The fast is for 21 days starting the 9th. We want to enjoy what Wat says. Also, what about Lily going to people's vegetable gardens and learning to make home made remedies for different conditions and focusing on holistic topics. Lily, also what about making easy recipes where you add the vegetables and herbs when you are going to turn the stove off, so you preserve the nutrients of the greens, and you use your time just to enrich your children, your husband, Naam, and your life.
