    I love your spirit: "haha, it's got brakes - I'm taking her for a ride!"

    I think the knob is for how fast the 3 pt will raise or drop. The slot next to the lift control would be where the lever would be to set the draft (like when you are plowing or something). The thing at 7:12 may be a differential lock.

    It is a great tractor. If it had 4WD, and a loader, it would be perfect. I use it with a 5 foot brush hog. It could use some cosmetics, but I have other things that need my funds right now. As for what I paid I'm keeping that a secret for now. Thanks for viewing!

    Thanks anyways, but this video was a while back. I use this tractor regularly these days for brush hogging. It is a great tractor. I also now have an operator, service, and IT manual. If this tractor had a loader on it, it would be perfect!

    @Boomersays Thank you! That encourages me to get more editing done. I have another ATV I fixed, and one that I just gave up on. I currently have my backhoe's diesel engine apart, a Makita generator in limbo, and video of all these projects.

    You sir are correct. BTW, this is a great little tractor. Being about an '86, it is the newest tractor I own. If it had a loader, and 4WD, it'd be perfect......in my eyes.

    lol! Restore is too strong of a term. I did the repairs I needed to get it running, changed the fluids, and it is now a good runner. You can see one of the repairs in my video Neutral safety switch repair, and you can see the tractor working hard in the video Bush hog 305 Part 10. I love to replace the mangled rear fender, but even a used one is a bit pricey, and I'd have to remove the ROPS to replace it, without an overhead lift, that is a bear. The hood is also too pricey for me, even used.

    The lever on the left of the seat has 3 positions low medium hand high. It corresponds with the 1-4 lever on the left of the steering wheel. It is low speed. In low position you have 1-4 speed then in mediums goes faster and you have 1-4 speed and all the way up in high gear you have 1-4 speed. It goes about 25 in high all the way up the chart shows the speed in each gear

      Hello Trevor. You're mostly correct, except on this model, the lever to the left has 4 settings in an h pattern, with midway being neutral. The dash shifter is 3 speeds and reverse, giving a total of 12 possible fwd speeds, and 4 reverse.

    You have to push the clutch in to start it... theres a safety switch on the clutch pedal.

    this starts the same whay as the 4630 ford tractor on my farm

  • @billypirtle1443

    You gave 4 gears there by you left leg on dash you have 3 plus reverse by your leg is 1 thur 4 gears.

    It does not have any switch on the clutch pt have to push in the pedal to start. It has a netral safety switch, and a PTO safety switch. The PTO has to be off, and the gear shift lever on the dash has to be in neutral. This one had a bad neutral safety switch. I show how to repair it in another video.

    ohh on my 1320 the clutch has to be pushed in before you can start the tractor.. i thought maybe the 1920's would have them also. But nice tractor anyways man a little tlc and she will look new again. How much did you end up getting it for at the auction?

  • @stevewatr
    @stevewatr  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    That sure is what it is starting to look like. After getting thew owner's manual the other day, I was able to fully test the transmission. 3 gears + R, AOK, and all 4 ranges AOK.
    Just fixed that rubbing tire issue, new video to post soon.

    That scared the shit out of me when u tried to start it. Think ill stick with the regular view.

    I have the two exact same issues today. But how did u fix it????

    • @stevewatr
      @stevewatr  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you mean the neutral safety switch, i was able to remove it, clean the contacts with contact cleaner and that worked for me.

      @@stevewatr i saw that video today. I fixed that on mine as well. I am in Australia. What about the drive issue???. I am contemplating splitting the tractor to access the clutch. Seems odd there is no access plate or even inspection hole to the clutch.

    • @stevewatr
      @stevewatr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@paulcoote3094 The drive was fine. Someone had left the range lever at the halfway position that put the rear end gearing in neutral. Once i realized this i selected a range and the tractor works perfectly. One theory is that an employee did that and wrote the note about a part being no longer available to scare off potential bidders.

    There's a little rubber knob in the center of the floor.. do you know what it is?
    Thank you

    • @stevewatr
      @stevewatr  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it covers a vent for the transmission.

      Steve Watroba I see.. it almost feels like there's a dipstick in there, but I can for the life of me pull it out.
      Do you still have your 1920?

    • @stevewatr
      @stevewatr  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My apologies. I think you're right about a dipstick. That's what I get for trying to answer the question from memory. The tractor is not parked near the house, and things are hazy hot and humid outside, and in my brain right now. lol

    • @stevesteve8364
      @stevesteve8364 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevewatr On my 1920, the little knob is the handle for the dipstick to gauge the hydraulic oil level. Like any dipstick one has to pull it straight up. An initial twist might be needed to break it loose.
