Managed to break my front brake lever today. Watching your video is rather reassuring that replacing it should not be too difficult. Glad I fitted crash bumpers recently.
+Peter Coveney Should be a nice easy job matey, makes a nice change tbh! stroke of luck with the Crash guards too. really should get some engine ones myself.
I notice your brake lever doesn't have the brass bushing whereas your clutch lever has the brass bushing in the hole where the screw nut goes in. That is the same with the levers I bought. I wonder if missing brass bushing for the brake levers will be an issue? The OEM stock brake and clutch levers both has the brass bushings. You should grease the screw before putting it back in. I packed the screw hole with grease and place the screw nut.
I fitted some shorty Pazzo levers to my ZX-7R last year after the span adjuster broke on the clutch lever.Always use 2 fingers on both levers anyway, plus they are a nice bright green so look cool.Rear hugger is next job. Get yourself some R&G crash bungs mate,i have some and they look real strong and stick out enough that they should give good protection in a slide. Nice vids by the way mate.
+galenkia The Pazzos do look tasty, and your dead right about the crash bungs. got some on my front forks. might save a bit of damage in the worse scenario. Ride safe matey
So your video was perfect totally helped me replace my lever on 2014 cbr1000rr thank you!... Quick question though?? Does you clutch lever have decent vertical play/ movement up and down? Seems to be wobbly thinking of trying to find some sort of bushing or thin washer to add to pin/screw to tighten it up... I have exact same lever you do any advice?
+Joel Chambers I did wonder exactly the same o be honest. I even considered putting back on the originals to check theirs. To be honest with you Ive had them on for over 7 months with every day usage and they are still great, very impressed for the money!
great job, great explaination....curious as to what year your bike is? I have 09 model ive heard that 08-12 models all have same fitting parts . Is this true?+zippysworld
+razza9 My bike was the 2012 Anniversary model but registered in 2014! There are some differences from the 2012 model onwards mainly fairing. Hope this helps
