Buying a house with your husband and in the same month asking for a divorce is crazy.
Was a strategic move shes cunning
@startingtech3900 Right I was thinking the same thing 😢
@@startingtech3900looks like you mistakenly typed a second N instead of a T in that word 😂
Agree. If she wasn't happy she should have said something BEFORE they closed on the house. Was she on the title?
@@lissadalmau9676 maybe she did and he didn't listen...
Everyone, please tell me if this has happened to any of you after you got out of debt??? I just paid for my daughter's program in to total. I actually asked "no I want to pay it in full, not payments" The girl said "oh you must have money 🤑" I said no I am just out of debt and I budget for it. "You ever heard of Dave Ramsey???"
It’s really hard for some to understand that when you don’t have all your income going to payments.. you actually have money. 😝
The girl was correct you HAVE money but not debts
@@daisyphillips3638 I am happy 😁 that I have come to that realization now. Life is definitely so much better debt free!
Just when you get your paycheck, put it all away and try to survive off 50 bucks
@@SycaShowhuh?
My parents told me to buy a mattress set on installments out of grad school at $10 a month for 5 years to get credit. My husband thought that was crazy and paid it off when we got engaged ! 😊
🌹💕 When we were dating in 1985, Mark would buy me floral arrangements and have them delivered to my office. After marriage and kids when times were tight, he would draw a picture of flowers and send them to my office…via fax! Gifts were more his language; this was a fun compromise.
That's so sweet!!
Most women would laugh at that 🤣
The single mother call resonated with me. I too am currently a single mother of two and it scares me to put my savings towards paying off debt but I’ve also had a scarcity mentality and I’m ready to change that to an abundance mentality now.
"I'd rather get married to this man than keep my credit cards."- You go girl that's a wealth mindset and a strong character, LOVE THE MINDSET!
I work for FedEx making $37,440 a year. The struggle is real with living expenses going up
How's life been going this past month?
Well, you should not have voted for Joe Biden.
I understand😅
Genuine question why not UPS? I hear they’re better
My parents said we had to be 26 to be married. They wanted to make sure we had money and we knew more and had done some of our own things first.
When you are 80 the last thing you're going to think is "I regret getting married young and having all those extra years to spend with my children and grandchildren"
Young men today have messed up priorities and will suffer for their delaying marriage and having children later on.
RIP to my ears everytime the grocery store commercial comes on
Me too especially as a former cashier
We play Questions for Humans at our local crisis pregnancy parenting classes. They are so fun! Thank you!
That church debt free scream was wonderful!!!!
I love the RAMSEY SHOW it's very encouraging and motivational. Dr. Delony's personality is TOTALLY ME. He always makes me laugh, I was very happy to meet him, Dave, and George Kamel in person there in Franklin at Papa Dave's BEAUTIFUL COMPOUND. I can hardly wait to get back to the beautiful state of Tennessee, Franklin, Nashville, Lynchburg, Mephis God bless YOU ALL.
I remember the call to Dave when the gentleman called in saying he had 90 days. Heartbreaking yet inspirational at the same time.
Not heard it yet.. but if I had 90days left. Debt can kiss my ass.
Love love love the show! Listen just about everyday while working delivering mail and gives me fuel in the tank to stay motivated and strong while working lots of overtime. Anyway, sometime y’all should have an hour or entire show devoted to taking calls from people who paid off their house and their stories around that! I think that would be very encouraging!
I love the questions for humans cards. They are so interesting and fun to learn new things about family and friends. Thank you Dr. Delony!
Oh i love those little kids!!! ❤ they've got amazing parents!
I wanted the same thing but it never happened. Having courage, determination and drive to get on the same page can be difficult and challenging. Its frusterating when your spouse doesnt want the same things you do. I wanted to have this common denominator with my spouse. It makes me so sad that this never happened between us and his attitude was kindo of like "youre not going to get to tell me how Im going to spend money". Money slid out of his hands like melted butter and now nothing to show for it. It takes two to tango.
Discuss goals and how to get there.
How to get there pretty much adds up to the baby steps.
Every path to wealth starts with not overspending vs income.
For years when my siblings and I were growing up, and we were taking vacations, it was usually the choice of our parents that chose the destination
-beach or mountains.
😢Now, many years later, I would like to go to some of these places, but do the things I wanted to do years ago.
I have some hobbies I can enjoy on these trips and might be able to make some money with photography, gold panning or gem mining while I am on short trips of a week or so.
I just love John, his thought paths are so on the point. Great guy. I am not thrilled with this matcho talk between the two, but the way they live it, is totally ok for me.
The game you're going to bring that every dollar budget app to Canada we d love to have it over here
12:18 I've gotta disagree about "Go in there and bust it, do great work, and provide value - will increase your salary over time ..."
This is completely wrong when it comes to large companies. They already have you hired for $75k and it's going to be YEARS before she gets enough 3% raises to make $83k.
At that point she's still breaking even or undervalued with the rate of inflation.
This is the reality of negotiations, get hired for as much as you possibly can so you don't waste away YEARS working your way back up to your desired/deserved value.
Don't be afraid to say no or walk away. $2k shouldn't be enough to make you start over at a new company, that's ridiculous!
My personal rule of thumb is ask for 20% over my current salary and negotiate/settle at 15% over my current salary.
They don't need to know what current salary is. If they do ask tell them that's personal information that you're unwilling to disclose. You'll never see these people again and it's their literal J-O-B to retain as much money for the company as possible. They WILL play hardball so distance yourself emotionally from the negotiation and look at the numbers only.
This is YOUR future!
SO true. If another person who gets hired at the same time as you negotiates 10k more at starting, in 10 years they will have made at least 100k more than you. We just went through this when my husband switched jobs. He didn’t take no for an answer and told them to shove it basically and they came back with an offer 20k higher and he accepted. After telling him there was NO WAY they could pay him that… It’s their job to pay you the least possible. And in big corporations hard work hardly ever pays off and the biggest goobers become higher ups. It’s ALL about salary negotiations! You’ve got it spot on 👍
Also, love that 20/15% rule of thumb you’ve got going on, going to pass that onto my husband! Take care
Making progress on paying -off my non-recurring debts;
I am down to 2 items on my list;
my LOC at my bank will be paid off in May paying half of the balance in April and finish in May, and;
My FINAL ITEM is an association membership at-off, which can HOPEFULLY be paid off by Christmas!
My next project is to buy a used Ford Transit Cargo Van to fix up for camping and traveling. Being on a fixed income, but DEBT-FREE, I may need to finance the van purchase.
Yes, testimonies, stories are so inspiring.
This was a great episode. Full of wisdom.
When you are a single 55 year old female, just out of bankruptcy, health issues and with absolutely no assets how do you create a vision for your life??
think of a problem you would like to solve, and research if anyone else is doing it, you can get involved or donate, or you can start doing, just my thoughts.
Get yourself a life coach to help you figure it out.
i love dr. John!!
This was very good show
Pretty disturbing that a church would go 4 million in debt.
Please come to Huntsville, Al
My neighbors sold their house in a week. It is currently a seller's market.
Love this all ❤
Someone has to do the budget
Can anyone tell me the name of bottle which is on the table of Ramsey ,
I say I know you may not want to hear this but Dave Ramsey says…… last talk was about bonds any why I said I didn’t want to do it…… she got her way but admitted that next time we will do high yield savings account.
its always a good time to be a seller if you're a boomer who bought when housing was cheap

Question: why is it that only one person in the couple wants to go full Ramsey and the other one is against it. What gives??
Sometimes change is hard for people, and sometimes it takes someone a minute to catch up to you
First caller: "Do as I say, not as I do"
A church!!! AMEN AMEN AMEN 🙏
Debit card shows you are paying present debt. Paying credit cards is always living in past debt
Wow!! Thomas and Emily. Congrats 👏
Umm well single moms typically don’t have a husband bringing in an income while we stay home..Kinda not the same. But! Congratulations on becoming debt free!! That’s amazing!!
Do you have any advice on a contract by a solar company that allowed a tenant to sign and now they say they are holding me accountable for the 25 year contract. I even text John Berger (CEO of Sunnova) with no response from him, only a response from his people stating they are aware that I didn't sign the contract but I allowed them to do a credit check and that was all they needed. What kind of lawyer do I need? This happened in NJ on my home I was renting and I live in Florida.
Look at the contract again. It may be void since you don't/didn't own the home, but they lose $, if you don't enforce this & threaten legal action.
My crunch don't numbers! Help me Dave!
💝”better than I deserve”💝
Bros worth 600 million "this is a small business" 😂💀💀
Imagine being so obsessed with money that you feel guilty about accepting roses from your husband for a decade. That's a problem.
I sure hope my emergency fund can withstand my bachelor party!
That is not what an emergency fund is for.
@@fhuber7507 You're gonna lose money by getting married and divorced anyway.
Emergency fund not for that
would creating a roth ira for my wife be one a way to get to the 15%? And is HSA included in that 15%?
Thanks
Yes to the ira part. Hsa is not retirement so no it's part of the 15% for retirement. Also it's 15% for both of you not just one of you.
1:44:45 Just imagine the good that they could do for their local community if all of those acquisitions and transactions were taxed appropriately :)))
Taxes don't help the community. They enrich corporations and foreign interests. The little that makes it back to the taxpayers is ridiculously inefficient.
1:41:30 dude, don't tell him to get married, that's going to be a nightmare for him, let him do his thing...jesus christ...
Parents are using you for cheap Labor.
Even if they don't help you purchase the house there is still control as they are selling it to you and will be involved in every decision. Different house and different job now
More money for cocaine.
The millionaire parents paying their son 30k I mean WOW. That is absolutely pathetic and they should be embarrassed. Anything less than maybe 85k is completely absurd for a 30 year old man
How do you give Papa Dave a ticket 😮 shame on y’all. Ramsey 4 PREZ!!! 🇺🇸 CONGRESS NEEDS FPU!!!!!!!!!
I finally pulled the trigger and got the Ramsey+ apps/services and couldn’t regret it more. So far the every dollar app doesn’t work. It requires me to reconnect my accounts every hour and so far budgeting on paper is easier than using these apps. The help desk team is just a desk team. They don’t help. Makes me wonder how much of this is actually Dave over how much he’s just the face for.
Anybody who stands up on this show and claims the Ramsey plus apps helped is a paid actor.
John D is distracting
You should have laid down the law before you got married!!!
Somewhere along the line someone told delony he was funny.
Take her off the bank account make her have to come to you for money even for groceries
I’m glad George not on this program this host is the best
Be NICE😸🙏👍
BE CONSIDER ATE OF OTHERS’ Feelings - It will come back to you🙀😇
Marriage = debt.

Stop playing with your pen dr, is a bit distracting
