thank you for invaluable insights. Is it possible to integrate this system with an interactive voice response system? Also I would like to know whether it is possible to record call conversations?
Fantastic video, very nicely explained. I was wondering though, why do you have to connect to the socket box? Does it not have enough power/connection to just plug the phone into the PBX?
The phone can be directly plugged into the PBX but the sockets are mostly created to serve as nodes at which the handsets can be plugged. You would sometimes find sockets created within walls, thereby burying the cables out of sight for beauty and protection of the cables from destruction.
Thanks one again. Why do you remove a very large portion of cat 5 cable to fit the rj11, when just a small part is needed to be pilled to fit rj11? Why??
You need at most 2 pairs of conductors from the cable, if there is a way whereby you can unveil the 2 pairs, that will be fine but i find it easier Pilling all
Again and again, well done..nicely cooked content..QN..Can i use this setup to create a simple telephone system inwithin only the office environment, without linking to external line?
Yes, that is the application of this setup. It facilitates inter-office communication. Another level is to add the ability to make and receive calls from outside your office or outside the pbx setup
I was wondering if you can help me please. I recently moved into a new flat with a broken intercom. I identified it as a "ACET 22220 (2 Wire)". It has 6 wires inside (yellow, green, white, red, blk, blue). Cables yellow and red are in slot 5, black and blue are in slot 6 and the other cables are not connected at all. I bought a bell 801 as replacement which 5 slots for wires "I R O T Z" which is different from my old ACET 22220. Will this work as a replacement? And if so where would each cable go?
Q1: How do you crimp RJ11 clips for single line telephone? (I mean crimping only the white-blue and full blue wires) Q2: What happens if you terminate the four wire colours for a single line? Also, what happens when you crimp four wire colours in RJ11 for a single line.
1. You place them at the two middle points in the RJ 11 jack, i will do a demonstration on my live Q & A session on Sunday by 16:30 or 16:45 GMT 2. It would work. The handset will use just two of the conductors.
@Tech_Inside_Out Thank you very much. So, in that case, I can just run the normal four wires and let the telephone detect what to use. Edit: That way, in case the client changes to a multi line telephone, there would be no issues. Hope, I can do it that way?
Is it possible to change the numbers from 601+ to anything I want? And is it possible to connect this system to the landline given by Internet? Thnk you
@@Tech_Inside_Out Thank you for the quick response. We have intercom system for our housing society and each apartment has two end points and one KRONE installed. I am trying to get both the points wotking simultaneously.
@@Tech_Inside_Out I use real telephones. Western Electric Desk phones and French Phones in rooms that have a more "delicate" touch. And rotary dial too. I have a circuit that converts the dialed numbers to a DTMF tone. I just don't know why they make it do the two short rings when one long ring is better and should be the default. And no clear instructions on how to make it ring the way I want it to ring.
For a single line, what if i connect the 4 strands of cat 5 cable to the socket instead of 2 strands as you have done, will it still function? Under which conditions does krone come in, kindly?
The 4 strands works perfectly but since the phones are not display phones, you do not really need all the 4 stands but it does not spoilt anything at all, you can connect the 4. The Krone is used in situations where you have 4 buildings sharing thesame PBX system where you need to have a distribution point at each building whereby you will carry the signal from the pbx switch to the Krone or the DP and further split it from the Krone to your sockets.
The main difference between cat 5 and Cat 6 is the bandwidth that each supports and hence the volume and speed of data that each can process. Cat 6 has a higher bandwidth and data transfer speed and as well more expensive than Cat 5. Voice communication or pabx requires less bandwidth and data transfer speed which can be well handled using Cat 5 at a good price. However, Cat 6 can be used without any problem.
@swaggst The question about only the blue can be answered here on this video th-cam.com/video/oRIUYQn5QvI/w-d-xo.html With the krone, as you said, I would touch on it in subsequent videos. I will explain its use as well as Patch panel

Yes, this is a very good question. The krone is normally used when you have to extend the reach of your pbx using a multi pair cable, where you terminate the multiple pair cable coming from the pbx switch on the krone and redistribute the extensions from the krone. I will consider doing a video on how it is done

Very good question. 1. You can successfully install a telephone intercom system without using a krone or patch panel 2. The Krone or patch panel is required in instances where you are installing the pbx to serve two or more buildings, in such cases you would place a krone at the point where all your cablings will come to in one building and run one multi pair cable from the krone to the pabx machine which will carry extension wiring to the krone. From the krone, you will then distribute to your extension sockets.
