"If you remove each part of the song into its own isolated things..." Oh man, you are going to *love* how they utilize and mix the music in the actual game.
That song was the song used for the very first NieR:Automata game trailer/reveal if I remember correctly, and is also the reason why I bought the game in the first place. Best decision ever.
Very excited for you to play the game itself. Nothing like watching someone's first experience with Yoko Taro's wild ride. Gonna be in for some crazy stuff, but the good kind. Have fun with it all Jessie.
Hey! Jesse Im not an English speaker influent but i like watched your videos reactions cause im a metalhead and love VG music, plus i learning English more but with fun, with good reaction. FF and Nier are mainly my fave VG series!! I can't wait to follow you playing 2B!😎 Glory to mainkind
Hearing this track in the first gameplay trailer of Automata is the reason I got interested in and bought the game. It reminded me of the music in the anime movie Origin: Spirits of the Past, which I have major nostalgia for.
There is actually one composer I can think of who has a sound kind of like Nier's: Yuki Kajiura. But she does more anime music than video games, although I think you've already covered a song she did already (Fatal Fight from Xenosaga: Episode II).
The Ar Tonelico series has a lot of similar music. Thanks to amazing singers like Akiko Shikata, Haruka Shimotsuki, and Noriko Mitose at the forefront of each game. The sequals Ciel/Ar Nosurge have phenomenal music, too.
Something you mentioned here and isn't directly stated ingame so you might miss it, the blindfold looking things on all the characters' faces are Visors which is where the HUD is stored so the characters are meant to actually see and use it just like us.
Outstanding music and even more with the context it was put in!!!!!!!!! And again, I reaaaally wished I could see your playthrough and slowly discovering the music subtlety. Though, a little note here: the first nier is what you had to play first and for many reasons
@@JessesAuditorium oh myyyy.... My day will be made tomorrow!!! Since you just posted your update on the community section, I feel like I'm responsible of the prophecy 😂 👍👍
The additional vocals in the back that sound like chanting kind of reminds me of Bulgarian folk singing, songs like pilentze pee give that droning harmony that makes a piece sound really dramatic and meaningful.
My favorite track from automata, it's a shame that it plays a very few times, fortunatelly FFXIV made it some justice and put it at a very iconic boss fight
I think it literally only plays once in the game, when you fight that ball thing as 2b. I love this track but the placement was so bad for a track this good
@@tephracave3573 I think it also plays during the final sequence of ending C, when you are going up the tower and swapping between fight Ho-Shi and Ro-Shi
Yeah the lyrics are in "Chaos" language, which Emi Evans (the singer for most of the soundtrack) describes as what modern human language would sound like as the years go by and after thousands of years would no longer be discernible by humanity. Affectively evolving into an alien language.
On top of VG, dude does anime BGM as well, and all of them carry as much weight as his VG line of work. Even stacking against his pieces like Battle on the Big Bridge for FF15.
This is one of the NieR tracks that got used in the FF14 raid series. I believe you've listened to the first of the three mashup tracks done for the series, Weight of the World (Prelude Version), at some point you should also do Torn From the Heavens /The Dark Colossus Destroys All (Medley Version) and Kaine (Final Fantasy Main Theme Version).
I wonder if its possible for you to react to anime music as well at any time? ^^ Its something else than videogames but Attack on Titan for example has....INCREDIBLE music
You definitely have more of an appreciation for some of the music and lore if you played Replicant first, but overall Automata is the easier game to get into.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but i've looked on ur patreon and see there's toooooooons of requests. On one hand i feel it's very versatile but on the channel lately i find more of the same, mostly game music by japanese composers or from other Asian countries. A lot of console game titles. Any chance you will focus more on PC gaming and maybe smaller indie games? I saw Journey but overall it seems to be heavily on Final Fantasy and such titles for quite a while now.
@@Frionelz Well that depends on your in game knowledge and how much optional things you want to do, but the requirements are definitely higher in Nier even if Automata has more content.
@@Sekainoowaride I'd say replicant just feels like a really big slog to get through, so it makes it feel longer than it really is. Both games are pretty long but you can trim a lot of replicants fat by not doing so many random quests, and if you get the Phoenix spear then the game just becomes kindergarten difficulty. On top of that you've already played what you're playing in later playthroughs, making it more familiar and faster to playthrough. Not to mention most players will be pretty tired of the repeated story by then and be actively trying to move things along faster.

So satisfying watching his music stream post-playthrough, and then coming back to these vids!
Adaptive OST masterpiece.
The way this track is dynamically used ingame is amazing. I love how the enka style singing is used almost as an instrument in of itself.
NIEEEEER
The vocals are wild in this track, absolutely love em.
Can't wait for your playthrough! You're gonna LOVE it.
It's so difficult to choose "best" songs in the game, but this is definitely one of them if I was forced to pick. Uh, among many others hahaha.
Mine's easily Dependant Weakling, in my Top 3 Favorite Songs from Anything Period.
*Not saying this track isn't in the top of course

"this doesnt sound like nier" whenever yoko taro makes a game he tells the composer that works on most of them to avoid sounding like a previous game.
If you've ever seen/heard music from ghost in the shell, this song is very very much in the same style and it's awesome

She and Okabe are my favorite composers, easily.

If it's a drakengard/nier song you know it's gonna be godlike
This song is so beautiful and weird at the same time
Best song, no contest. Remainder of songs are almost all, 90% I would say, are quite high up there. But none beat this one as my favourite.
So many Nier videos! I'm sure I'll enjoy them all!
Also I hope you'll have a lot of fun playing the game :D
Playing NieR for the first time rn on PS5 and I’m obsessed

Second?
@@ihatehumans487 Yes, although it has the best ending in a videogame ever.

AAAAND NIER IS BACK yes
He needs to hear FFXIV Kaine ver. Her Inflorescence.
The live version of this song is sickening!!!
I was exposed to this song through the FFXIV collaboration. It's pretty ominous and good in the boss fight it appears in there, too. c:
I would've preferred if you played Nier before Nier Automata, but it's ok, you can play them in Reverse too.

Something I wanted to clarify, 10 on PayPal for a priority request right? And it has to be an official ost and no non-official remixes?
Official VGM or dev remixes / dev bands etc. No covers / fan made basically.
