Yeah sadly yellow is the only color that can abuse the security cards due to security manipulation! And its really game changing if it appears as it means faster evolution or an extra attack! >.
@@CardProtagonist But that's what Yellow has going for it. It's like saying so sad that purple is the only one with trash manipulation. Color identity, the ability a color has to do something unique to it, it's important. It's like red with how much power and security check bonus it gets or Blue with how much it gets from digivolve (and the digivolution source manipulation it has too) or how much access to draw it has.
It does feel kinda swingy, precisely because how clutch a good security trigger is, but it's not actually so lucky. When you think about it a Patamon is about the worse security you might randomly get in Shinegreymon and many other yellow decks, exception to glorious burst. Almost any security check against a yellow deck is going to be nasty. Starter T.K gives a very nice stacking bonus to any security digimon, free tamers still hurts specially in Shinegreymon since many are giving even more security manipulation and/or memory, and a lot of options trigger themselves from the security. I mean, a Magnaangemon or angewomon would have been a 12000 DP! just one more starter TK and unless there's a digisource under there that gives +DP to Ragnalordmon (which is fairly common in red, actually) that's a double destroy, taking down the blocker for the win as well.
So I don't feel it was specially lucky. When you are facing yellow you need to attack security with the expectation that you are going to give your opponent important resources or losing DP/facing big security digimons. If you activate multiple security checks in one attack, then it's even less random: you are going to face around one of each.
That was such a close game! I thought the ShineGreymon deck was gonna lose for sure. GG to both of you! So hyped for this game!

Great editing, I just started playing so after the first watch I was able to play at half speed and pause to read cards. Loved the effects and you guys played very quickly, that's pretty impressive.
Also, there was a Labramon's effect ruling that says the deletion of Digimon using ShineGreymon's skill is treated as a single instance of deletion by the game. Previously, ShineGreymon's [When Digivolving] effect was treated as multiple instances occurring at separate timings, but this was changed as of December 18, 2020.

@john callaway Yes, it is an effect, but that effect is just reducing DP, not necessarily destruction. When a Digimon hits 0 DP it dies due to the game's effects rather than a Digimon's effects. That's how Yellow gets around Craniamon's protection.

We really should find a way to interact more with tamers, like deleting them or negating them. Yellow is just way too difficult to beat when they can set up a haldful of tamers like that.

Yellow has some great backup level 6 cards, including Magnadramon and ClavisAngemon. These could be great to dabble with.
It is pretty sweet, not sure if you can choose to discard a security while you have none though.
Yellow has some pretty neat lvl 6 to substitute for the absence of Shinegrey! :D

I LOVE the videos. You guys are sometimes over the top, but it's nice to see. Makes the videos even more watchable and you guys explain everything as it's being played. My ONLY question is how did Ragnalordmon check security when he popped the ShineGreymon? I didn't see you guys show him having Pierce. As far as I've come to learn, you can only check security off attacking a digimon when it has pierce. Maybe one of your sources has it and you guys just missed putting it in the video. But I was just curious. Otherwise, amazing video. Yellow clutched that at the end.
I know this comment is a year old, but I'll still put it down here for the newer players who are watching this video: Durandamon has piercing as an inheritable. Placing the Duranda in the first RagnaLordmon's sources was such a good play because you're getting that free 3 memory AND that piercing inherit. They just forgot to say it, but still a really good play.

The ragnaloard player was kind've cheating. Security attack does not work like that. Security attack + x only increases the number of security checked when you attack security. It doesn't do anything if you attack a digimon, unless your digimon has piercing.

When attacking, RagnaLoardmon added Durandamon to its digivolution sources, and Durandamon has piercing as an inheritable skill.

Another fast pace and unpredictable match. I thought ragna would have an edge but shine greymon was just a bit more consistent.

Ok question about the last attack by ragnaloardmon: shouldn't he have had one more security check since he had a total of security attack +3 in skills ( tai, metal, and himself) plus the base attack?

Question, shinegreymon effect is applied to more than 1 Digimon? I understood the effect differently when I read it.

i.e you get power to -12.000 DP
you can destroy two of 6000 DP Digi
The way Shinegreymon's effect is worded, you apply the effect individually and separately for each Tamer you rest, so you can pick and choose where to stack the debuffs.
Shame about the Labramon ruling that it's not per Digimon anymore, as they are treated as 1 trigger for some reason.
the Reason is Simple, although each Rested Tamer allow you to apply the effect one, the trigger for the effect itself only happen once, When you Digivolve into him. The way you need to read the effect is like that: You Digivolve into ShineGreymon, since i Digivolved into him, the effect activate, since i have 6 tamers, i can apply the effect 6 times, but the effect doesnt retrigger at each time, since you are not Digivolving 6 Times, it'S still part of the same Digivolution chain, so to say, that's why it'S consider one trigger

Yeah, not sure if one of their digivolution sources happened to give it piercing, if not, then it wouldn't have worked the way they had played it out.

I know Im late but, why ragnalordmon didn't won with the 4 checks attack? ankylomon only says summon, not stop, why he only did 2 checks?
Security checks are just that. They only increase the amount of security that is checked. In order to win, you have to land a direct attack against a player with no security. Couple things to note here: piercing a digi when the owner has no security doesn't end the game, as piercing specifies doing security attacks. Also, a digi with -x security still ends the game with a direct attack.
I dont quite get it, why did Ragnaloardmon could do security break when attacking rested digimon? Or Ragna has effect that make him destroy resting digi while doing breaker?

This was awesome really got to see power of shine greymon. I do have a question though in regards to labramon. Wouldn't you only draw 1 card? Or is this something special with shine effect?
I will answer for cp: Labramon's effect is not a once per turn effect. Following the vid, he deleted two digimon with shine's ability. So he draws one for each deleted by reducing dp to 0. The combo makes great work of it.

No. In digimon you resolve as much of the card as you can and still continue on. It will still trash security of the player(s) that have security and then continue on to summoning a digi from trash

When it comes to security+ attacks, it doesn't include direct attacks. It only affects securities.

Question with mastemon digivolution effect, how can it do its effect when it says from both players if theres no security in one of them, wouldnt it mean it can't be done, meaning the second half would also not work as it requires first to be finished? Or can cards do all there effects even if there is only half of the trigger?
it's because it's not a Cost, in those Situations, you do as much as the effect as you can. If it was a Cost, then he couldnt have activate it

in normal cinconstances it isnt. in this Case, when he add Durandamon to RagnaLordmon, that gave him the Piercing Ability, which, if the user destroy a Rested Digimon, allow him to perform Security Checks after

I was confused, too, but they didn't show the Durandamon that he placed from the effect on screen. It gave the Ragnalordmon which meant it does security checks after fighting the digimon.

When you end your turn if you have memory left, or if it's on 0, your opponent automatically gets 3 memory. If the memory gauge goes past 0 on your turn, it is automatically your opponent's turn. Each player uses 1 side of the memory gauge. It is not shared between players.
