I sincerely want to thank you for your detailed reviews. I am excited about the Reolink argus eco and look forward to the Arlo Pro 2 comparison....again, thank you!
Thank God I found this channel. I have a ring doorbell. It's not really impressing me. I have been considering a stick up cam. After watching these videos I've decided on Reolink all the way simply based on value. Ring has obviously gotten complacent and they are being passed up.
Great info LH. Reolink is a great value and may be a no brainer for someone who's starting from scratch but for those like myself who are already invested in the Ring ecosystem it's not so easy to brush off the stick up cam simply due to cost. I already have the pro doorbell and recently purchased the alarm so I would prefer to stick with Ring. However there is another set of potential customers that may want to think long and hard before purchasing the Reolink. If you live anywhere it can go below 0, the operating temperature of Reolink could be a deal breaker.
Very thorough review. I just bought the Reolink Argus Eco. I installed it on the window seal inside looking out. I just can't trigger it to record. Is the window interfering with the motion detection? I have it on highest sensitivity. Any suggestions?
Hi LifeHackster, Quick question for you! Have you heard anything on the SkyBell trim plus or SkyBell in general? I’ve been looking for a smart doorbell that doesn’t require a yearly subscription. The features and design seem good but I can’t find any quality reviews on this doorbell. Any information helps, thank you!
For people with disabilities and that may use Alexa, the Ring is a better choice for the integration. However, if Reolink would just integrate with Alexa, it would be hard to beat! I like Reolink's microSD card recording with the free cloud storage option as well. As always, excellent reviews!
The day and night video quality of the Reolink looks better to me. Although I'm not too keen on the Reolink's battery recharge options. I'd rather have a removable battery that I can swap out.
Quick Question, How can I configured twovArgus Eco camara to see them on my Ipad or Iphone at the same time different place around the house? Thank you
Thank you for your hard work. Do you know when Reolink Argus Eco will be in stock for purchase? Amazon and Reolink ws still unavailable. I tried to contact company but no luck.
The best one would be a wired NVR 5mp or their 4K...for WiFi cameras, the Argus which is their outdoor camera is 1080p but has good video quality and can read plates depending on where and how far you are going to install it.
Great job. I would like you to review a solar powered, SD contained, continuous monitoring , as well as all the specs of the two cameras compared today . Thanks
Great review. Im a ring user and have the protection plan already. So it seems should be an easy choice. But that reolink seems like it has a better picture. Especially at night. Am I wrong or what do you think??
Reolink 5mp camera's have great video and audio quality. Lots of settings for motion detection but they lack good software support to analyze the motion detected. Weather changes, headlights, birds and even the auto-switching between day/night will trigger false alerts. I hope that one day they will up their game and add person/vehicle detection.
Unfortunately Reolink cloud recordings are currently limited to 8 seconds at a time. You can only choose the 15 and 30 second recording options if you install the SD card. I’ve never heard this disclosed In any of Lifehacksters Reolink videos.
I did mention this a while back when it was still in beta and I was thinking that they are going to change this to record the whole footage which is what was set in the camera. I’ll give them a heads up on this.
I have reolink c2 pro the video is great but the 2 way audio is very bad and it has no volume adjustment i have to yell and still the sound coming ot is very low
Hackster, you are easily the best at this. I am spreading the word on who to watch for security... Have you tested the Freecam floodlight? It is what came up first on my Amazon floodlight cam search and it's price is pretty sweet
I haven't tested that...as far as floodlight..I still think Ring Floodlight still is better especially reliability..I'll be doing my 2 year review pretty soon.
Rockaland2 - Ring is better overall as an ecosystem especially if you have a lot of products from them. Reolink overall has better video quality on all their cameras.
Rockaland2 - the Eco is going to be in stock at the end of the month...and yes the Eco is better than the argus Pro especially the motion detection distance.
I got questions for you Lifehackster the nest door bell is encrypted and the ring isn't is that safe and other youtuber say nest hello is fast but I have ring and is very pixily some times does it matter what speed I have for my internet but I love my ring doorbell better nest and I love your video's very much and when I saw your video's and I thought you had 1m subscribers and I think you deserve 1M subscribers
I see three problems with the Reolink Eco: 1) When the battery dies you have to throw away the camera and recharging the camera is a hazzle, 2) At this time the Reolink Eco is not available, and 3) Customer service is not available in the USA as with the Ring Stick Up cam. No question, with the Eco you get more for your money without considering the fact that the end of the batteries life is the end of the camera and you'll have to throw it away. I don't like that.
I try watching other security cam reviewers, but you’re literally the only one I trust
Thank you. I appreciate it.
I just ordered the Argus ECO camera with Solar panel on e-bay for a good price. Great review!
For the money I can have two of the Reolink cams for the price of one Ring cam! and there is not that much difference! Nice review as always! Thanks!
You are welcome.
Your videos are so well done and were very helpful! Thank you.
Thank you. I appreciate it.

Awesome videos. Saving us time and money. Thanks man!

Best ip cam test in TH-cam . You was think in everything .

Thank you so much for this video. My choice fell on the Reolink, which I'm happy to test it soon. Best regards from Poland :-)
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for another great informative video. I really appreciate the info.
Thank you.
great review, thanks !
but can I ask what if the battery knackered? can it be replace with normal rechargeable battery ?

I agree on the operating temp of the Reolink. It will not be reliable in colder climates.
Very thorough review. I just bought the Reolink Argus Eco. I installed it on the window seal inside looking out. I just can't trigger it to record. Is the window interfering with the motion detection? I have it on highest sensitivity. Any suggestions?
Could you do a software review someday? That is the hardest thing to set up in my opinion.
It uses PIR motion detection (heat movement sensing) which will not work if used through the glass..
Hi LifeHackster,

I haven't personally tested this brand so I really don't know if it is good or not. I will try to check it out.
Please do a review of the Eufycam E sometime soon. Really appreciate your work.
I contacted them and I think they will be sending me one.
Very good. Looking forward to your review and if it's worth a buy.
IMO the Reolink looks much better. thx for the comparison
You are welcome.
Did ring release motion zone update for the battery powere cameras like they have for their wired powered? And which models?
They haven’t released it yet as far as I know.
For people with disabilities and that may use Alexa, the Ring is a better choice for the integration. However, if Reolink would just integrate with Alexa, it would be hard to beat! I like Reolink's microSD card recording with the free cloud storage option as well. As always, excellent reviews!
Reolink is working on Google integration. I haven't heard yet if they will integrate with Alexa...hopefully. Thanks.
@@LifeHackster Per their website, Alexa intergration is "Coming Soon".
It has now
Which of all cam you try has the quiquest response to motion pir ?
Can you use both battery and assist panel at the same time?
Yes, you can.
The day and night video quality of the Reolink looks better to me. Although I'm not too keen on the Reolink's battery recharge options. I'd rather have a removable battery that I can swap out.
True. I also wished that they have a removable battery.
I'm not sure yet but I will get in touch with them.
On the Reolink, I can ONLY watch a recorded video from SD card only? Meaning too, I have to climb up 12 feet and remove the SD card??
No. You can access the footage via the app.
would you have any idea on how i could increase cam sound
Both cameras doesn’t have a volume control..
Thanks for video,
You almost reviewing all type of cameras, but what is good all around nvr system?
Which reolink is good to read plates for an alley. I will not be mounting on a flat surface but on a quarter dollar thickness pole.
The best one would be a wired NVR 5mp or their 4K...for WiFi cameras, the Argus which is their outdoor camera is 1080p but has good video quality and can read plates depending on where and how far you are going to install it.
Can reolink use the ring solar panel and vice versa?
No it doesn't. The Reolink uses micro USB while the Ring has a barrel type connector.
LifeHackster you can’t just change out the cable, it’s like attached?
Quang Tran Yes
Great job. I would like you to review a solar powered, SD contained, continuous monitoring , as well as all the specs of the two cameras compared today . Thanks
Please could you do a ring stick up cam vs ring floodlight cam comparison test?
I’ll see.. have a lot of products and ideas lined up right now.
Do you ever get jitter on livr video? I have stick up cam wired version and livee view video jitters. .. sucks..
I haven't experienced that. Contact Ring, it might be a hardware issue.
Can I access the eco from my PC using the IP
Not at this time.
Hey LifeHackster Kindly compare no subscription and local recording security cam
Ok.
Great review. Im a ring user and have the protection plan already. So it seems should be an easy choice. But that reolink seems like it has a better picture. Especially at night. Am I wrong or what do you think??
Yes, Reolink's Night vision is definitely better than the Ring's.
Can you do a review of the 5mp Reolink? Or at least give me your thoughts on it?
Thanks!
I did review the C2 Pro which is a 5MP indoor camera. I have tested most of Reolinks cameras and I can say that their video quality are excellent.
Did ring provide you a camera for review or you bought them for this review?
Nope.
So you bought them right? Your reviews are great and very helpful. Thank you.
Max Hawa - yes, I bought them.

great video!!

reolink argus eco works with google assistant (no smarthome integration is wrong)
What do you think of Reolink?
They are pretty good cameras.
@@LifeHackster better than ring?
