I never expected a new incarnate this edition because Krondspine is the incarnate of Ghur, not Thondia. They seemed to be based on the realms we are currently in. So the next incarnate would be replacing Krondspine as we enter the next edition's realm. Although we may never know for certain because the reception from Krondspine was so poorly received they could be too spooked to continue the project.
Honestly Eshin would be the clan focus I’m least interested in and might skip over 😅 Verminous makes the most sense though for a launch box as they’re the “base” expectation for the faction with elements of Maulder being likely as back up. I can see Pestilence getting some updated sculpts but feel like that would be after the box like with the Lictors and Death Leapers for Tyranids
Might be asking for too much but would love to see some doom flayers, skryre acolytes and a new Arch-warlock back up by clanrats and either a warplightning cannon or some jezails in the 4th ed boxset.
I think wave 2 of FEC could still happen, A lot of the sculpts are very old and could do with a refresh. the fact that the Vargheist set makes horrors, Haunters, flayers and infernal is silly. There is also no ghoul king model
Something I've always struggled with in Warhammer is the edition cycle and I'm having such an amazing time with 3rd edition that I am dreading 4e. I know this is all theories but damn, there's a lot that they could do that would bum me out.
I know this is a little bit of an older vid now, but I found a fun way to do battle tactics in 40k is to run an all combat Chaos Knight army (all little fellows) and murder your opponent before he can score too many. Adds a cool edge to the game, you basically have two turns to do the business And Karnivores are great fun (imo).
lol. I know you have to say “controversial” stuff for clicks. But the idea that they would get rid of Dracothian Guard without replacing with new models is a silly thing to say. You are silly.

The newest vampire model has the left overs of an old death god with her so why can't there be an old god out there in the shadows somewhere slowly building its army to reclaim what Nagash has taken. I only bought the books last year with soulblight gravelords as my army - unfortunately I have not played yet as the group who play AOS battle on a Monday which is a no go for me due to other commitments . I am probably going to play the old world but would still like to keep AOS to play as well but I am only on a limited budget, so I would need generate cash to by the new edition. I know you are very knowledgeable on this matter how confident are you on your prediction that it will be an index - percentage wise. Could you give me a some idea.
Late to the party, but I have to say my piece : No faction will really be squatted, like bonesplitterz and Beast of Chaos, however my presumption is that they will by either reformatted into something new, mostly like the Seraphon were. Stormcast will receive the Space Marines treatment we will have new models replacing old ones, several of them may be incorporated into one new units that have many options. I'm convinced we will have index's treatment for the 4th ed, My assumption are coming from 1- we are experiencing the same release schedule 40k players received before 10th ed, 2- the way Dawnbringer regiment and army of renown are written are the almost exact same way the army composition works for 40k, 3- GW games are build on the same foundations, 40k look a lot like, many rules are almost the same, 10th and 4th will share the same commonalities.
I hope and I think it will be an index. Biggest thing to support my thought new designers that have been working for the new edition while balancing the old edition. As we saw in 40K
I think the skaven side of the launch box will include clanrats, rat ogres, greyseer/warlock/plaguelord, then either ninja rats, plague monks or stormvermin and one of the weapon teams. With the rest of the weapon teams and elite skaven soldiers being released in waves.
@@philipbowles5397 yeah that makes alot more sense. Really hope they do what your suggesting and cut down on the kits by just making them alternate or weapon options instead of different kits. To add to your suggestion for a dual Gutter/night runner kit they could also do a dual Plague monk/censor bearer kit too. I can see the doomflayer and grinders being dropped along with some other random kits. Although with terrain being pretty prevalent I think the warpgrinder can carve out a niche as terrain feature destroyers. Also I might be too optimistic but I think GW know Skaven are very popular so perhaps they will do more but who knows.
I thought the third edition rules were great. I think that if they changed too much they’re likely have some problems 10th edition 40 keeps having. My vote is to not index.

I honestly really doubt that now that Malekith is a god and that Marathi is part God that they would share power or units. I also highly doubt they would put the dark elf aspects back together now that they've finally separated them since imo the three sub factions are distinct enough to get their own armies and aesthetics
@@gstellar96 we'll see I guess. My thinking is that it would be the easiest way to add some more models to DoK which kinda need a few more non hero units.
My guess for skaven box: 40 Clanrats 10 Censerbearers 20 Plaguemonks 1 Plague priest 1 Clawlord on Broodhorror 1 Grey Seer Skabbik and his crew were a test for the new pestilens models so thats what we're gonna get.
I'd like to know if it is the oracles that have spoken to you about Skaven, or is it just the rumours that have perculated so much that it's crossed into truth? Because "Dawnbringer Book 5" could be 4E with SCE vs Khorne. I'd look at Dominion rather than 1E for the structure of the starters: 1 named hero, 2 unnamed heroes (at least), and 3 units. Stormcast seems to be new Vandus (still on Dracoth, because I don't see them putting a dragon in the starter), new Relictor and Lord Castellant, Liberators, "Protectors" and "Judicators". Rather than killing all the old-SCE I expect a lot of merging of Warscrolls - all Dracothian into 2 Warscrolls (Melee & Shooting), all the 3 man shooting into a Warscroll, all the 5 man shooting into a Warscroll, Decimators, Protectors and Retributors become 1 Warscroll - now you have a much more cohesive set of warscrolls where the units have clear identities where you just use your old models still. If 40k 10E's Index Edition made bank, I expect Index Edition. I don't think BoC will get squatted, I think they are going to get a range refresh and all the old models will then just go to Old World. I expect that there will be some deck style replacement for the GHB - saves them printing the whole RB every 6-12 months and they're a lot more variable for play than the current situation for AoS making the game have more life on that "GHB". Much like SCE needs a unit trim S2D needs one as well - all those Warcry Warbands need to be addressed with S2D - but their random composition makes that harder to unify them. I expect armies that got a hero in 3E to be the target for range expansion and refresh in 4E - DoK (new Wagons and Avatar), BoC, Skaven (duh), IDK, Fyreslayers, Ogors seem on target after the Gorgers update.
My Guess is that they are going to split Vyrkos from Soulblight - they´ve been working into that direction for quite some time now - making Vyrkos more of a "Werewolf" Army and keeping the more classic "Vampirey" Stuff in Soulblight. And Gods, Please - a new Zombie Dragon finally.
The endless spells are mostly still in stock on the UK store, but yeah they (along with anything else manufactured in China) are gone by the end of 4th at the very latest, I reckon.
As someone who's played 40k only thus far, your predictions on what gets squatted worry me. Over the past couple of years I've been very slowly chiseling away at painting armies for SCE and Slaves to StD. The SCE consist mainly of Liberators, Evocators and Sequitors, half of my STD are Marauders. Neither force has ever seen play, nor will they in the next couple of month. Having them squatted before actual play would be rough.
I am new to AOS, and aside from the many barriers to entry, I dont understand how powerful shooting is. Shooting should not imo get its own phase and there should be penalties for shooting enemies enguaged with friendly units. Heros dont really feel heroic and I would like to see model facing rules where units can attack or defend in a 180 degree arch infront of the attacking or defending model. (Edited for clarity)
The 'no crossover between AoS and tOW, and therefore beastmen will be squatted from AoS' line kind of falls apart when you consider Slaves to Darkness vs. Warriors of Chaos. Do you really think Chaos Knights & Chaos Warriors will bet dropped from AoS? or left out of tOW? Rumors are strong of more Darkoath or whatever for StD, and what are they if not updated models for generic Chaos Marauders? What will the Warriors of Chaos faction for tOW be if not primarily oldhammer rules for models that are also playable in AoS?
Eshin will be a Warcry warband. I can see the launch box be the Plague stuff. Std Plague Monks, Plague Ogres, Flails, Globadiers, a couple of characters. This is the edition we get Sigmar getting off his butt. Other than that. The Tyrion half of Lumineth Shadow elves in the witch elf book Hero plus book for everyone else
I don't think it's going to be an index edition, 4th edition will refine 3rd edition. I do have concerns about adding more factions when we're currently at 24 Battletomes and still on a 3 year edition cycle.
yea I agree with Bonesplittaz gettings squatted bust beast men have got some new minatures recently. They surley can't do ogres, they've had a new unit added and that would bring destruction down to 3
So for the Launch box, it will have to be new models because they have to be push fit. NO way they make a million push fits rats, but they could monopose. I think it will be slimcast redos of old Stormcast.
Uhh you realize these are predictions for a new release, with new rules right? It almost makes sense if you are coming from a business standpoint of selling minis before you discontinue them. It’s not as if they’ve never done THAT before…
Im not holding my breath for Skaven in the next edition starter. Been holding back on them for so long as im already drowning in projects for AoS anyway. That said, gone all in on Beastmen today. If they get squatted they get square based and I'll have a third army for ToW. Can cut up the spells and scenery for unit fillers. Was trying to get out in front of the inevitable price hikes.
@@thehonestwargamerstreams Yup, still a little disappointed with the indexing. Interesting times ahead. Got plenty of ToW to play till I see if this is a game I'll still enjoy. Interesting to see everything that's getting squatted. The chaos Warbands really caught me off guard
Can’t see BoC being Squated because apparently according to Vince, they’re very popular among the GW staff. I can’t see them squating BoC because Chaos doesn’t have much as it is compared to Order.
47:00 games without a victory condition like TOW cannot reduce the advantage of going first, and after 3 games it becomes super boring. I think both 40k scoring and battle tactics are the most modern things under a gd point of view gw ever made.
@@thehonestwargamerstreams scrub that. My mate has just told me that my one grand’s worth of beast men, lovingly painted, is being dumped from AoS 4th Ed. If that’s true, I’ll be dumping AoS. Square bases are fashionable I hear.
Hard disagree on the 40k tactical missions - in fact I think its the best thing they've done in 40k in a while. Some systems are good for just having armies kill each other and whoever kills the most wins (Old World prime example), but 40k should be more mission based. The way they did it in 9th edition was awful. Some factions were overtuned or simply easier to score and balance was a nightmare. The spreadsheet comment is pretty hyperbolic. I don't think it is anywhere near as complicated as you make it. 4 of them are even "kill more" like kill monsters or vehicles.
I actually, genuinely, really, really do hope they get rid of those older clunky stormcast models. So ugly and awkward looking. Along with all the old skaven stuff. They deserve updated models. Asap
id like miscasts on unbinds like in old world. also not a lot of the game plays on bravery. more abilities need to act on bravery, boost or nerf it, use it to gain bonuses, etc...
I want an index edition, because that would be needed for some of the changes I want to see (most notably characters actually joining units, which simultaneously makes all the infantry beatstick heroes more viable than they've ever been in AoS while simultaneously completely replacing a ton of super awkward rules - look out sir, bodyguards, sequential combat activations, ghibli heroes, short range 'wholly within' auras, etc). But as much as I'd like to see it, I don't think it's happening.
Speaking of 'starter box with 3 but you need 5 for a unit' - the other thing I've always wanted to see is to ditch batch pricing and go back to points cost per model, with a minimum and maximum unit size. If I buy three boxes of morghasts and want to run them as two units of three instead of three units of two, that should be allowed. If I get a box of tomb horrors, and build one of them as a courtier *as is the intended way to make one* then I should be allowed to take the leftover two models and add them to another box to make a unit of five. Again though, because I would like it that means it definitely won't happen, especially as the terrible batch pricing business has spread to 40k now.
Combining weapon option units into one scroll like "Paladins" and removing underworlds warbands clears about 15 warscrolls. That's what I think will get changed for Stormcast honestly.
There's a boatload of units in AoS with separate weapon options/rules baked into the same warscroll already though and it works well...

😂😂 you legit called it
My Guess is that they are going to split Vyrkos from Soulblight - they´ve been working into that direction for quite some time now - making Vyrkos more of a "Werewolf" Army and keeping the more classic "Vampirey" Stuff in Soulblight. And Gods, Please - a new Zombie Dragon finally.
Yes please, boo Vyrkos vampires, yay Vyrkos werewolves.
I like vyrkos being vampires , and think itd be a shame to lose that , but i would like them to get some werewolfy units for sbgl on the whole
I've been out of the AoS loop for 6 months or so. Where was it confirmed that the 4th edition starter will be Stormcast and Skaven?
Marauders aren't getting squatted. They're getting a revamp. They may not eb called marauders, but you will be able to proxy them in no problem
As somebody who owns tons of bonesplittas, I think I will have to buy some square bases #squarebased
That description of Panto had me rolling nice job hahaha
Also, you should check out Warmachine
Warmachine sux
I Hope endless spell stay just as faction terrain 😅, also interaction!
The new knights and chosen have AoS specific trophies on them. I.e Stormcast helmets. Old world will be getting the old sculpts
Yeah it doesn’t track. And BoC is really popular in the studio
@@elphiefanfulI rather spend $$ on the new chosen and use them in tow than the nasty old chosen models

The 2 list method was great in a 3 round event. If you are forced to play both list at least once.
If your army is squatted, I can’t recommend One Page Rules enough. In fact, it’s the only games I play with my Warhammer minis anymore.
45:00 And yet he loves the double turn... ;)
Remove priority in Matched Play and reimagine Battle Tactics are my wishes. Please no indexes it’s killed my enthusiasm in 40K
Prio is probably never going away - it’s a foundational mechanic that likely everything is balanced around
Eshin will be a Warcry warband. I can see the launch box be the Plague stuff. Std Plague Monks, Plague Ogres, Flails, Globadiers, a couple of characters.
This is the edition we get Sigmar getting off his butt.
Other than that.
The Tyrion half of Lumineth
Shadow elves in the witch elf book
Hero plus book for everyone else
Love the videos Rob! ❤
You rock thanks xxxx
Rats riding mutant giant moles. Have you seen those claws?
Really hope they don’t blow up AoS and make us buy all those books again :(
I don't think it's going to be an index edition, 4th edition will refine 3rd edition. I do have concerns about adding more factions when we're currently at 24 Battletomes and still on a 3 year edition cycle.
New squats for AOS? Count me in!
yea I agree with Bonesplittaz gettings squatted bust beast men have got some new minatures recently. They surley can't do ogres, they've had a new unit added and that would bring destruction down to 3
you know wolf rats. that exists in fantasy. think it was forge world. also rasts riding brood horror. Clan moulder has sooo many coool things :)
So for the Launch box, it will have to be new models because they have to be push fit. NO way they make a million push fits rats, but they could monopose.
I think it will be slimcast redos of old Stormcast.
Made my prediction before you speculated 😂👍🏻.
Dracoths are the most competitive units Stormcast have so getting rid of them would be an insane decision
Uhh you realize these are predictions for a new release, with new rules right?
It almost makes sense if you are coming from a business standpoint of selling minis before you discontinue them.
It’s not as if they’ve never done THAT before…
The only thing I wish is Abhorash for Soulblight
I want a named necromancer kinda like heinrich from the old world
Rat cavalry? Nobody could have expected ghoul cavalry
Rat cav would be Wolfrats with no riders, and wolfrats with stormvermin riders.
It may index if they make big core rules changes. If they do it will need it. If not they need to prioritize the underperforming army books.
All right predictions for me
@@thehonestwargamerstreams Yup, still a little disappointed with the indexing.
That and some of the canned concept artists were talking about models that were already designed and being made for BoC specifically.
Vince mcman from the wrestling?
47:00 games without a victory condition like TOW cannot reduce the advantage of going first, and after 3 games it becomes super boring. I think both 40k scoring and battle tactics are the most modern things under a gd point of view gw ever made.
That's just wrong
Cross pollination between GW games is a very good thing and it drive me nuts how much they try go out of their way to squash it.
Its crazy!!! im sure they hate money
There will probably be a vanguard game mode like combat patrol
What about a faction wizard and a box exclusive endless spell?
Sounds cool
Gors and Ungors will be totally OP in 4th. You heard it here first.
Yikes
@@thehonestwargamerstreams scrub that. My mate has just told me that my one grand’s worth of beast men, lovingly painted, is being dumped from AoS 4th Ed. If that’s true, I’ll be dumping AoS. Square bases are fashionable I hear.
Strength and toughness? Seems odd to have super hard hitting scrolls to wound a witch elf at the same probability of wounding a gargant.
If they ever make a kow model Order faction like Gargants I would buy the army day 1.
Asap
Same - I love the idea of liberators as my battleline but they look so weird next to the newer models. Celestent-Prime needs a redo too imo
id like miscasts on unbinds like in old world. also not a lot of the game plays on bravery. more abilities need to act on bravery, boost or nerf it, use it to gain bonuses, etc...
Lol let's hope my 4k points of Nurgle aligned BoC can fit in movement trays ☠️
... actually, you were wrong on Dracoths - thanks f..k for that though 😅
Haha I'm glad
Pestilens in new aos 4 box and i think something new...wolf rat cav and/or weapon teams
