To the best of my knowledge, for anyone curious: Leachies get possessive of mates because they pair up to guard eggs and territory while they incubate! They're actually very good parents. And it's a lot harder to do that solo. That's also why the females test their males. They want strong partners!
That makes a decent amount of sense you don't want a weak partner to defend your eggs with you. You want a strong partner who can fight and defend your eggs and increase their odds of surviving
If you want to stick with norse mythology names, there is Utgard-Loki (not related to the other Loki), who called himself Skrymir one time when he tricked Thor. Or there's Logi, who's the personification of fire and also played a role in tricking Thor that one time. From the same myth, there's also Elli, the personification of old age. I think Logi would be best, since it's similar to Loki, and it's also short and easy to pronounce.

Okay so another commenter did say that they co parent and take turns guarding. Based on some research they don’t mate forever and a male can be rotated if done correctly. Basically while they do develop a bond it is not permanent, they are picky and need to be compatible. The female is usually in control of that and can occasionally randomly dump a male after years of breeding to find more genetic diversity!
