My husband and I were just talking about how it is always the small contingent within the whole who think and live deeper than the surface where most of us are content to rest. You, Ms. Hunter, are one of those people and continue to discuss and share the issues of true importance for our people. I thank you.

I want this to go through. I also don’t want them to forget about Wilmington, NC in 1898, Rosewood, Seneca Village and soooooo many others massacres.

In 1921 there was a Black Town in Denton County called Quaker town. The city moved all the Black people out to build Texas Womens University

Reparations would right a lot, but not all of the wrongs with this country. The least the federal government and overseas entities should do would be to pay the descendants of slaves for all the economic loss they have suffered over a long period in this country.

If we had half of the black voters SERIOUS about forcing real reparations begin getting radical enough to effectively create the actual programs to be funded

The survivors of Black Wallstreet and their descendants getting reparations should be a no brainer, which is why I cringe when I hear black people saying this is their country. I'm like really. Why is we have to keep going to people who dont look like us to receive justice if this is really our country? Because if the majority of US senators and congressmen looked like us we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

any individual settling on Black Wall Street and Greenwood has to vacate at once returning those properties to the rightful ownership.

People do not tell the whole story of Greenwood. It is actually counter-productive and sad. Greenwood was destroyed by white violence. But, the residents rebuilt their community within 3 years bigger and better than before. “Black Wall Street” continued to thrive until segregation and eminent domain actually led to the demise of the area in the 1960s. The assimilationist belief that “white ice is colder” remains a dominant belief system in the black community. It was black flight that led to the demise of Black Wall Street.

    The Black political Agenda
What we want from the political system
    • In the area of Education
    • Allow greater community input: give support for The Education agenda and the suggestions it lays out for having an effective curriculum and career focused classes for schools to properly educate our children
    • Equal school funding: fair funding across the board for all public schools
    • Support for the creation of new institutions: owned by the community such as private schools community colleges and trade schools
    • In the area of Economics
    • Loans and grants: encourage financial backing from major banks for property and business loans. give greater access to government grants, community revitalization funds, FHA, SBA and MBA loan programs that would increase home and business ownership.
    • Business contracts: Fair access to business contracts from both local and federal governments and corporations
    • Employment: an increase in employment opportunities from the government and corporations
    • In the area of Social development
    • Have an open door policy: Politicians need to meet and listen to the community and its leaders and be willing to work with community political representatives
    • Address concerns in a timely manner: politicians need to be more attentive and ready to act on behalf of the community especially when it comes to passing reform bills or overturning laws that negatively affect our communities
    • Give support for social organizations: increase grant funding and encourage corporate donations to organizations that are running effective programs for change in the community
It is the responsibility of the community to create a political agenda for our education and economic development. that agenda would then be presented to politicians for their support. Having a well establish political agenda allows us to stay focus on what we Want from the political system no matter who is in office. rather they are black or white democrat or republican, we must make the political system work for us by electing vision minded Politicians into office that supports our agenda. What is needed is political support for an increase in FHA, SBA, MBA loans given to the community for home and business ownership, including government contracts that would help grow businesses and create more jobs. grant funding for social programs to address the issues of education, safety, crime, and drugs. Politicians would be encouraged to pass laws to help the community and to get rid of those laws that negatively affect the community. if we become major donors to both political parties supporting them not only with our vote but also financially, we would achieve our goal of getting the backing of the federal government and their support for the development and upliftment of our communities.
