......and not another boat on the water. I saw what looked like some boat ramps off of the gravel roads. I'd kill for a day like that on the water. Are the bodies of water you're on truly that shallow to where you need that airboat? Or, could my bass boat launch at the few ramps I did see?? I've come to learn how dangerously shallow FL lakes can be. At this point, just learning where to launch can be a challenge in and of, itself. Looked absolutely beautiful. I'm just an old-school, catch & release guy, but would love to get in on some of the legendary south-central Florida fishing, now that I'm a resident. Looked like a beautiful ride....thanks for sharing.

Kenansville has a boat ramp where you can launch a bass boat. But, beware. The deepest water is 7ft. Average depthbis like 3 ft. It was an old pasture for a livestock company and when the lake was filled they left all the fence posts. Where we launched from was Stick Marsh. Plenty of water there to run a bass boat. Headwaters has really deep places and you can run almost any place. That levee jumps from Stick Marsh to the St. Johns river. Not sure where the closest boat ramp is.

@@ThumperSpinnerbaits Yeah, after doing a little research, I read the same thing. May have been your post. I guess the safest way to approach that particular lake would be to launch at the Stick Marsh , and then head towards "Headwaters"?? (if I'm understanding you properly). It would seem to me that just about any of those places looked like great spots. Was a beautiful run.
