    Man, Balatro LP got everything. Highs and lows of gambling, Reggie and Woolie talking about long versus short play, chat demonstrating Gambler's Fallacy. Peak content.

    Woolie: 1/4 odds is too risky for me
    Also Woolie: hell yeah I'll keep drawing for a 1/52 chance to get the card I want

      that one hurt to watch, getting a free upgrade every 4-ish hands seems like it would be really useful in the long run.

    I am pausing my Balatro game to watch a Balatro game, while trying to figure out how to play Balatro IRL

      The more you say Balatro the easier Balatro is to learn.

      I feel like IRL balatro wouldnt be possible, with all the RNG and upside down cards, and whatnot
      You could probably make a version in Tabletop Simulator, might even be able to make it multiplayer

    Woolie not seeing how crazy strong the double face jokers combo is sent me to god with the quickness

    I do wonder if Woolie will eventually realize that he doesn't NEED to play 5 cards with hands that are not flushes, full houses, or straights. Sure, adding cards to hands of pairs and three of a kind is a nice way to discard those, but I've seen him heavily debate on which other card to add to a hand that will go to waste. But then again, that's the kind of adventure we go on with Woolie!

    It really does feel like going for flushes is one of the easiest ways to build in this game. It's high value enough to be worth a lot right off the bat, while also avoiding being too hard to get consistently. And there's lots of ways to do things like change card suits, make a card wild, that one joker that basically makes your entire deck only two suits, etc.

      Early rounds, yes. Flush, straight and full house get you out of rounds fast. However, scaling in later rounds is a pain in the ass. The REAL meta is in the Jokers, specifically Multiplicative Jokers and Polychrome. Two jokers with “x1.5 Mult” next to each other compound. 8x1.5=12, x1.5=18, etc. boosting an easy to get hand and multiplying the hell out of it is the answer

      @@dman6332 That's one of the beauties of this game that I'm learning. Standard poker logic says to always go for the biggest hand possible, but I've had numerous occasions where a smaller, higher level hand can be much more powerful. It feels weird saying no to a full house when you have a low straight, but when all those multipliers stack up, things go crazy go nuts.

      Supposedly pairs and two pairs with good jokers is the most consistent way to win on the highest difficulties.

    • @diggory4ii385
      @diggory4ii385 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      from hearing high-level players talk about the game, flushes seem to be really good in low stakes but are near impossible to make work at gold stake difficulty. Easy to get going, but the scaling isn't as absolutely nuts like some hands have

      But I feel if you are going flush you need straight and Straight flush for those times you do not get a flush "as shown in video"
