    I have GA3s paired with SQ labs innerbarends on my xc bike (that I use for everything...). The wings do more to encourage proper wrist position than to actually support. I would probably go for a wider wing if it was a touring specific rig, but for a do-it-all bike, the GA3 is perfect.

    Really like these grips as well. Sometimes I use the edition with "horns" just for the retro looks and comfort on narrow bars.

    After hard sections of trail, it's great being able to one hand palm grip the wing and sit up right for a breath or 2.

    I agree with everything in the review excerpt for the end caps. They went missing after just a couple of rides and it appears to be a common problem. I just replaced them with some lock on caps.

    May I make a quick suggestion? Whenever you review a product you should add a link to somewhere that you can purchase the product in the video description. You could even setup an amazon affiliate program is you wanted to.

    When you say Large vs Small... is that in reference to the wing, or the grip itself? Thanks

    • @BIKEPACKINGcom
      @BIKEPACKINGcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The grip itself. The small size has a 30mm diameter and the large come with a 32mm diameter. Ergon recommends the small size for hand/glove sizes 6.5 to 8.5, and the large for 8.5 to 10.5.

  • @GenesisDarkweb
    @GenesisDarkweb 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The S size of 30mm n L size of 32mm is referring to the diameter of the bike handlebar suitable for the GA3 or referring to the area size where the palm is resting on?

      @@1222dss Ooook! That was my ignorance showing up! I just have a +25-year-old mtb and at some point (more than 15 years ago I guess) my grips were swapped out to grips with these sort of wings. I still have them on and they're comfortable but they slowly rotate down all the time! So now I'm interested in biking again (gen X guy) and wanted to find a better alternative. Thanks for pointing out the nifty lock-on mechanism! It must be old-tech by now but back then I don't recall ever seeing them.

    • @BIKEPACKINGcom
      @BIKEPACKINGcom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Paul, that is the SRAM matchmaker. This allows you to mount most SRAM brakes to their shifters. This system does not play nice with Shimano. I know Problem Solvers had something that worked with both together, but I'm not sure if they still make them.
