Full Flight Review! Virgin Atlantic Airways

- It's a new week with another exciting adventure from Mrs. Karnes & Me! Today's adventure is a travel day taking us from the Michelangelo Hotel in downtown Manhattan, New York to John F. Kennedy airport and then to London, Heathrow International Airport.
We have hired a car that we found on Yelp and made our way back to the airport after our EXCITING 24 hours in New York City.

We will be flying on Virgin Atlantic today. This British based airline started in 1984 and this will be our first time flying with them. When we arrive at the airport we are happy to find a dedicated Upperclass desk, making our check-in quick and easy.
After checking in and making our way through a very busy security line we are headed to our first lounge experience of the day. Virgin Airways airport lounge at JFK is called The Clubhouse. It is a very different kind of lounge with many fun and quirky elements. Everyone working at this lounge was wonderful. The service was quick and the food and drinks were good. We both truly enjoyed our time in the this lounge.

After so much fun at the lounges, it's now time to board an Airbus 330-900 and make the 7 1/2 hour trip to London Heathrow. This flight was so good. I (Mrs. Karnes) loved EVERY minute. The seats were amazing, the crew so friendly, the food was good, I got pajamas for the first time EVER! It was great!

Your first-class Virgin Atlantic flight seems so worth it! At first, I didn't like the idea that the seats would separate you from your companions, but realized that the design could give you your own private time. Oh, do you get to take home the pajamas? 😄

I like the intro!!! Probably difficult to answer but I’d like to know you and your husbands favorite country that you’ve visited. 🌻
That IS a HARD question to answer! I haven't been to a country I didn't enjoy. If I had to pick one though I would pick Scotland. Our trip there was a dream come true. My (Mrs. Karnes) family comes from Scotland and I have always wanted to visit and when we did it was amazing. There are some videos on our channel about that trip. Thanks for watching! I have enjoyed watching your channel. I love seeing your kids and I do admire you for the job you are doing.
We are taking the Virgin upper class flight in weeks on the same plane. My wife Emma is from Southampton so going to visit her family there. As an added bonus while in England we are going to Spain for 4 days. The flights from England to Spain super cheap. Our first time flying upper class, sadly no points. Any videos of Southampton?

I need to get into lounges. How does the process work? I know that with the Arab Emirates it was based on mileage points. Is it the same with all other lounges?
Thank you so much for watching and your kind comment. Lounge access is generally derived in one of two ways; through access with a credit card or through the class of ticket purchases. E.g., my Chase Sapphire Reserve ( also Amex Platinum and a few other cards) get you a Priority Pass. That Pass gets you into hundred of lounges around the world. My United Airlines card gets me into the United Lounges. Other airlines have their own branded card which does the same.
Our Virgin Atlantic business class ticket got us into the VA Lounge at JFK, as did our United business class ticket into the Polaris Lounge on a precious trip. As always, credit cards should be managed responsibly, but having them can make the travel process so much more enjoyable.
