I just today discovered Eva........and after listening to her at my desk all morning, found out that she passed away 20 years ago. I am devastated and heartbroken, and I can't explain it.
Magnehelic, I discovered her one night driving, all alone. I didn't know anything about her but soon found out she had recently died. So, many years later I remember that moment like I remember my first kiss. Still, I always believe I hear a little sadness in each of her songs, but in reality the sadness is in me.
I felt the same way when i first discovered Eva many years ago..Watched everything i could watch on her..Was left with a sad sick feeling in my stomach.It was the feeling of loss.What a beautiful talented human being.She is singing somewhere i do believe..
This is a song from a son to his mother, seeing his mum going through domestic violence... I lost her to cancer when I was 23 years old.. Only 47 when she died... She raised me to be kind, gentle, loving, compassionate and caring to all life.... I miss her...

Eva was a treasure taken from us too soon, she was the definition of the understated performance artist. Eva refused to turn her performance style over to music and marketing experts (record labels). She liked to do things her way and she really resisted any suggestions they gave that might make her more popular. Then tragedy struck and she was diagnosed with Melanoma cancer. Tragically, her last performance ”what a wonderful world” was one and a half months before she died. So sad that she was actually charting very well two years after she died.
Was sold on her voice when I heard her cover of 'Fields of Gold' quite some years ago now. Much better than Sting's .. and I really like his music. Fact: She actually was a backup singer for a lot of bands around at that time. She was also a very private soul and felt most uncomfortable being front of stage.
Her voice has the quality of reaching deep into my core and take me to another place. She was such a standout and a gift to us all albeit for such a brief moment in time.

When I was in my 20s, I listened to Cindy Lauper's music and when I was in my 50s, I listened to it with Eva's music. Both of them are great singers. The voice of Eva is the voice of the soul.
I "found" Eva a couple of years ago while surfing TH-cam and instantly fell in love. I have always firmly believed that Linda Ronstadt is the most versatile, talented, female pop singer (Eva would hate me for labeling her that) of my lifetime (I'm 66), but now I would have to put Eva in that same category. My fondest desire is that, since I didn't have the good fortune of meeting Eva on this earth, I will get to meet her in heaven and hear her sing.

This is my first time listenin to Eva, I stumbled on her looking for two songs back to back to dance with my 5 yr old granddaughter while listening to Leona Lewis time after time this came next and I thought ha I got it we dance both back to back both songs by Eva since I have ms and dancin can be challenging although it is my passion regaurdless how many times my grandbaby fall im gonna be THERE to help her and true colors is the moment my grandbaby gets disappointed I give her a cape and again help her throughout and give her confidence she has this and realize I dnt need a cape I'm a big girl yeha my concept is a bit murch ( much) but she's a fast learner
