The Atlanta Pheonix name is more than likely a combination of both team names. You have the Flames along with a type of bird in the Thrashers. Combine them, you get a Firebird, the Pheonix. Also I think it can be a nice poetic name for multiple reasons. First is the great Atlanta Fire of 1917, the inspiration for the hockey team's first name, the city rose from the ashes like a Pheonix. Then even if this would be another Atlanta hockey team, it'd be hockey doing the name.

- The Phoenix is a mystical creature who can reborn from ashes. Since Atlanta had a 2nd team (a creature) after their 1st team (a fire). Totally appropriate!
- Also, I see a little pun to the Phoenix Coyotes who might join this jersey concept series down the road.
For the Atlanta one, a Phoenix is a fire bird, which is a cross between the flames and the thrashers. It has nothing to do with Phoenix the city (I think)

I don’t know how the creator of the these concepts got the Hamilton logo but that is the logo my hockey team uses and it’s been out for a few years now and it was designed by a dad in the organization and it’s so cool seeing it in Neil’s video
As we all know Atlanta has a history of naming their teams after birds. Falcons, Hawks, Thrashers so Firebird would be great in that theme. Phoenix won’t happen if Arizona is still in the league (maybe next month…?)and Firebirds would probably need permissions from certain Car companies. Love the channel. I always check in.
I believe the New York Americans switched to Brooklyn Americans in their final year which is why the bottom left jersey is black and white to match NBA Brooklyn Nets.
That New York Americans Jersey is what I want to see Rochester try.

The Quebec Bulldogs Bone Q jersey gives me Milwaukee Admirals vibes. They have one of my fav brandings so kudos to artist
My fave series of jersey are for the Hamilton Tigers. In fact, looking at these jerseys, this could form the basis of a new second-tier competition for the NHL.
Some of these custom logos were incredible too!
I'm going to guess that Atlanta Phoenix comes from the Thrashers (named after a bird) rose from the ashes (albeit years later) of the Flames franchise.

For the Americans jersey, the Reverse Retro has the original logo. The alternate pays homage to the team's later years when they moved to Brooklyn (see the sleeve).
The Penguins and Flyers should play a Stadium series wearing their current teams names on jersey designs for the Pirates and Quakers, cmon your color palettes match those of your predecessors
The bottom left Montreal Maroons jersey features the White Pine which is a symbol of the city of Montreal coats of arm and flag that has been put recently on the flag of the city to represent the First Nations as before that the French, English, Irish and Scottish were the only ones featured.

one of the nicknames for Atlanta is "The Phoenix City" after yankee arsonists burned it down during the civil war, which was where the Flames got the name. Since the Thrashers are a bird (the state bird of Georgia), it makes perfect sense to name the Atlanta team the Phoenix, a flaming bird that rises from the ashes. Honestly, I really love what he did here with that, all four of them look great and normally I wouldn't put red and orange together.
The phoenix rises from the ashes, so kind of appropriate for those two teams-flames and thrashers.

Thanks David! No merch for me yet. It's too much of a hassle to do properly. 90% of the online stores have extreme quality control issues, and if I'm going to put merch out I don't want it to be crap. I'd like to make it myself, custom, but don't have the time to put effort into that at the moment. Maybe in a few years once the channel is a little bit bigger!
