    I like Nick's advice of "just laugh at it" when you're going through tough times. 100% true. Worrying is stupid, just have a silly fun time.

      Just imagine all the genuine 60 IQ people who have somehow made it past age 80 and beyond, and then you'll realize that you'll most likely be fine

      That’s the best way for me to not fall down into that gay depression hole in the first place, but chuck’s advice is better for getting out of the hole if you’re already in there.

      that's the clownpill. It is cathartic once you instinctively do it instead of forcing yourself.

    • @PurityPill

      the silly pill, life so absurd its laughable, plus laughter just makes you feel good.

    • @VoidingTheContract
      @VoidingTheContract ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. Laughing at it helps you realize how silly it is to worry so much, which in turn lets you take the necessary steps to find a solution to whatever problem it is. It gets rid of the mental fog that obstructs your thoughts and lets you actually THINK.

    Charls gave similar advice years ago on one of his earliest streams. Stop letting your emotions control your thoughts, and learn to let your thoughts control your emotions. Seems obvious but this advice truly saved my life. Eternal thanks.

      stoicism (or buddhism) are useful but unless you're a perfectly focused monk, you need to actually make your life worth something, you cannot control your thoughts always. this kind of philosophy only works if you're "medium fucked up" and you need to silence the noise, the random signals that make you go crazy on a daily basis, if you go down the deep end into a spiral stoicism won't save you

      “Even to dwell in imagination on certain things as possible is to commit ourselves to them already. We have to forbid ourselves certain things: we must not think about them. If we have allowed our imagination to dwell on an evil thing, if we meet other men who make it objective through their words and actions and thus remove the social barrier, we are already nearly lost.” - Simone Weil

    I feel that most men feel this need to constantly be killing it 100% of the time, and if they slip just once, it could be the start of a spiral into darkness. The "it's so over; we're so back" binary mindset is not just a meme, it's real and it's a hurdle that God gives us the strength to leap.

      that's because society is set up in such a way as a BPD girl, it makes every signal go to the extreme, if you're depressed society makes you extremely depressed, if you're happy society makes you extremely happy, the signals overlapping intensify themselves. that makes it very easy to go from "wagmi bros" to "how do I tie a noose"

    You also have to workout. Sam talks about this, but there are a lot of anxieties that can’t be “thought through”. You have to release and unwind certain anxiety and nervous energy with a physically outlet - and you’ll destroy your body and mind if you don’t.

I am just sick of God putting wonderful people putting awesome people in my life only to take them away from me. It just keeps happening. Every friend I have had has died or gotten addicted to drugs or both. Not sure what to really do anymore.

    • @PurityPill
      @PurityPill  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      no shame in that my friend. the best i can say is to replace the bad thoughts with good ones. it is a process for sure, but if you stay consistent it will follow through for you. ease the weight you carry, its going to be okay! take good care of yourself, stay active as you're able too, and have faith in the process. nobody is a master, everyone experiences hell. but it is precisely how you choose to proceed forth, that matters the most. Bless you, keep the spirits up. i love you!

      MEDITATE - prayer is meditation and vice versa. it will teach you to identify outside influences that are not you. Also recognising you have a belief system that has been reinforced over habitual thinking and experiences that can be changed. Your depressing thoughts are keeping you in predictability mode so you remain comfortable in this way of living

      nope. gen x/boomers only showed millennials to suppress their feelings and never talk about anything deep on an emotional level.
      not saying like “ohh you gotta go to therapy” or whatever. but you simply cannot talk so candidly about the topics in the video to your parents. Its like they cant relate or grasp these things, thus we seek out answers from peers or people who’ve been through it.

  • @ZacharyVered
    @ZacharyVered ปีที่แล้ว +8

    This is more cogent than Sam's advice to the guy who found his friend dead from suicide to not let it control your life. You can only control your reaction to things. I still wonder how well any of these three understand mental illness itself, compared to just episodes of loneliness or depression. I don't think someone with PTSD can control intrusive flashbacks, though much research is currently underway regarding treating that specific illness via EMDR.

    • @PurityPill
      @PurityPill  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      this is just a clip, from a question. they all understand mental health extremely well, they went through hell and came out stronger. truly admirable.

    • @archivalme
      @archivalme ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Their words are powerful & they give useful advice. I have ptsd & can tell you EMDR therapy is a joke. No psychiatrist or drug can ever help you the way you can through control of your thoughts & your perception. Prayer is tremendously helpful as well. You are the keeper of your health & recovery.

    • @hithere4719
      @hithere4719 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have PTSD as well. Being in control of my thoughts is the only way to maintain what mental function I have. Whatever got messed up in my nervous system is healing. I can also infer this from the negative. When I let thoughts control me, I get the shakes again, and flashbacks are roaring in full IMAX quality.
      Funny enough, the week before my catalyzing incident, I was working with a woman who lost her son after 8 years of coping with congenital, physical disorders. She had a great attitude. I would personally be embarrassed to use imagined responses of people I don’t know in order to get others to be negative nancies. Do you ever feel embarrassment when acting this way?

    The serpent only told a half-truth in his deception, "you will be like God" (Genesis 3:5). The Fall coincided with this state, now knowing Good and Evil we must follow Christ in the Way with much prayer on His Word.

    1. Stop Masturbating
    2. Stop worrying about things that dont IMMEDIATELY effect you, cut out the drama and that means 90% of politics, the boogie men in suits arnt coming tomarrow so fricken chill
    3. Disipline yourself, start small, start waking up early, start cleaning your room (all that jordan peterson stuff)
    4. go to the gym, it helps release hormones and stimulates testosterone. also being overweight effects your hormones and emotions
    5. develop a skill,for example, if you like cameras, practise and study photography in your spare time, have it be your quiet thing that give you a bit of joy .if possible it can tranlate into a career. but always be building towards something. learn skills
    6. you're a man, youre not alone, everyone has felt this way at some point, you will make it through. dont look for long term solutions to temporary problems (like suicide)
    7. Prayer, go find a God. vocalize your problems to them honestly and truthfully and how you will take steps to solve them. they will provide you aide
    hope this helps

      1. Makes no difference unless you did it WAY too much.
      2. Some of the best decisions are those that pays off later.
      3. Why not stop going to bed late ? If you'll lack sleep you are going to be much worse.
      4. Gym is amazing. But to me it personally gets depressing if I am alone there, have no one to talk with, or people I talk with has negative vibe. I was kind of happier doing calisthenics alone in the wild. I never want to be alone, but it is better to be lonely alone, than lonely surrounded by bunch of people.
      5. Great advice. An immersive and purposeful activity leading to achievements is a must for a man to be happy.
